I’m very grateful for the advice they have given as it has helped me quit my job the past two years to take care of my grandparents as their hospice nurse ( unpaid ). I got out of prison at that time and had no financial education or any stock market accounts. Within 2 years of following their free content advice and implementing it into action… I had the fortunate blessing of being able to quit my paralegal job and take care of them while paying my bills and paying for my college education. Paying for their EYL stock clubs and/ or Red Panda is optional and Troy, Rashad, and Ian have not scammed people.

I'm honestly not surprised at all. I stopped watching EYL over 2 years ago but I would catch clips here & there recently. I used to watch it religiously around 2019/2020, before Ian was one of the main dudes and was just a contributor. In the beginning, their podcast was helpful and even motivational. After some years, they got in certain rooms with certain people and their egos blew up. They started bragging and talking down on their viewers. And that good content in the beginning became entry level '101' lectures on a loop. They would talk about the same topics over and over, and hardly get past the surface level. It became obvious they were milking their viewers as just another revenue stream. I started reading about investing & watching other KZbinrs that offered way more value. In a matter of a few months I learned more than EYL taught me in 4 years.

EYL are shameful in two ways. 1.) These guys have talked about financial literacy and they are trying to help the black community in the space of financial literacy. Let’s be clear, Troy Millings has zero career background in finance, commercial banking, investment banking, etc. He has a Bachelor and Masters in Physical Education. His past work experience is being a PE Teacher. Rashad Bilal has some level of finance background but it’s not known. But none of these dudes are currently certified in financial planning, accounting, etc. 2.) These men are just like the rest of these financial grifters. They’ve brought more predators and financial scammers to the black community than actually helping the black community. The most they have done to address it was to remove the episodes of those questionable folks they’ve given a platform to. They have NO financial credibility. These men are not trying to be intentional about financial literacy like they mentioned before. Key thing about financial literacy is talking about financial scamming practices and how people should protect themselves. Don’t hide from it.
@Holisticlab1112 ай бұрын
That’s not true. Rashad was a financial advisor & so was his father. Troy’s parents financially prepared him with great credit, an education, & they all had individual roles. Regardless of IG these brothers finances have grown massively & don’t need to likes on YT or social media..tbh

@@Holisticlab111Where did I say Rashad wasn’t. That’s why I said he has “some financial background”. He was certified but he let his certification run out and he wasn’t someone who was in that industry long. Learn to read. It doesn’t matter what his father did, his dad isn’t on the show. Because of Rashad having some level of a finance background, this makes it even WORSE! That means you know better but you still have scammers and grifters on your show who paid to get on there. That’s DANGEROUS! And if Rashad was still certified to this day, some of the individuals (who low key gave examples of credit card fraud) he had on their show, he’d been in trouble himself. As for Troy, stop it. That man has no career in finance, accounting, financial advising and/or banking. ZERO! No certification nor work experience within financial space. He’s a freakin gym teacher. That’s even more ridiculously. They’ve done wrong PERIOD! You have individuals on your show who they never vetted and were criminals and still do criminal acts. Again, they never took accountability for those scammers on their show. They just removed their episodes from their channel. That’s a problem and they NEVER addressed it HEAD ON! THATS PROBLEMATIC! I think they’re called grifters because they aren’t accountable for the mistakes they have made. “What do we have to benefit from scamming?” That’s a terrible defense for scamming lol And they claim they care about the community (black people who are financially illiterate, maybe illiterate overall) but seemingly either overvalue their services or just knowingly overcharge. It’s not over for them bc they’ve established themselves so well into the industry’s gatekeepers pockets , they’ll be fine no matter what they do or say as long as it isn’t overly controversial. Financial advice content has become popular in the culture because of EYL but the best part of that is the reaction of those like PocketWatcherJT who are credible and can give a fair assessment with information to back up the things he say. Ian Dunlap might as well be a part of EYL. And unfortunately, I never could get into these guys because it felt fake and sometimes it felt like they didn’t know what they were talking about. Overcharging the people you know don’t know any better for information that can be found cheaper is bare minimum grifting, at worse scamming. But cant hate on nobody’s hustle right? 😴🤧

9:22 wait, they told people to sell Netflix?😂 I DCA (dollar-cost-average buy) daily into Netflix..especially when they’re getting WWE next year which I see as a catalyst for at least 3-5% growth over the year. That’s what happens when you listen to people who don’t actually do technical analysis and just give opinions about blue chip stocks to a crowd that’s unfamiliar with the industry at all.
@vividnectar2 ай бұрын
You’re dollar cost averaging a company daily that is in debt, has already experienced the most growth (Pandemic inflation) and finally back to it where it was in 2022. That’s wild. $400-$500 entry would have been a range where it could make sense for a short term swing. Even then the balance sheet is nasty.
@fadethechannel2 ай бұрын
@@vividnectar 😂😂😂 I’ve been DCA’ing $NFLX since 2019. Since then, its share has grown 137%. From April 2024: “Netflix's $9.4 billion in first-quarter revenues and $5.28 profit per share were comfortably above consensus analyst estimates, with Netflix's top and bottom line marks both the best in its history.” “So far, Netflix remains one of the only profitable major streaming services, and investors seem to feel good about the company's prospects: Netflix's stock is up 36% compared to one year ago, while Disney's stock fell 10%.” You are confused about what corporate debt is, kiddo. It’s categorized into long-term and short-term types. Only a handful of companies have zero to near-zero debt. Netflix is the ONLY profitable DTC streaming service besides Disney. See what I mean about listening to people who don’t know shit? Are you in The Stop discord? I’d be glad to compare portfolios son. 😀

@@vividnectar oh, and DCA’ING IS NOT ABOUT SHORT-TERM “SWING.” DCA is for LONG-TERM investing. Do you even know what DCA is? 😂 DCA is for LOWERING your average cost per share. Why tf would you swing trade a low-volatility stock? No profit in that unless you dropping hundreds of thousands to take advantage of daily price fluctuations. There are way better MID-CAP stocks for day trading with lower entry. 🙄

The problem is how much of the finance game can you give away and still want people to pay to sign up for their classes. Eventually it was going to get repetitive. I just don't understand the hate these guys receive. You sound like you have never even watched a Market Mondays episode. And the fact that you keep calling them “influencers” lets me know you for sure don't know what you're talking about. Ian for sure does his thing, but be clear, Troy and Rashad are knowledgable on the subject of investing as well. And they NEVER tell their audience to sell because a stock price has gone down like you referenced. I think Troy and Rashad conduct good interviews as well. Have they made some missteps, of course. Who hasn't? But to put out narratives like this about these dudes is crazy.
