No, kids my age, you can't have fun inside a mini computer. There were parks and playgrounds and malls, but your lazyness made them close down because you were too busy on your phones and they didn't gain enough to stay open. 🤦♂️ Anyone else agree??? Edit: electronics may have made our lives “easier”, but also have made everything lazier. All you have to do for almost anything these days is through your phone, and barely anything requires actually driving there, but now you have a stranger drive you there. I may sound like a boomer, but my point is electronics are getting too advanced. For some reason, ever since I was 8, I was obsessed with everything the 80s and 90s had, and I wasn’t alive during that time period. I wanted to go to these places, I wanted to explore these decades, but thanks to electronics almost all of the malls, stores, brands, EVEN TOYS R US are gone. I hate that the world chose electronics over reality and ruined these wonderful decades. People will often say that I’m like that one grandma that lives in the past, but when I look at the way my mother grew up, the way the 80s and 90s were, they sound really fun and cool and safe. When I look at the 2010s and the upcoming 2020s, it seems as if the world is no longer safe, you can’t explore those different colors of wallpaper and carpet in a big mall, now you scroll through a bland black and orange Amazon app. The world revolves around the internet, and almost nothing is left in the face of reality 80s and 90s wise. I hate that I wasn’t able to live the way my parents did, and for that reason, I sound very boomer.

CA native, here. ...and let's not forget about the 'sinking' shoes. The asphalt that was used to pave Disneyland streets and walkways had not completely hardened on opening day. In keeping with the custom of the day women were still dressing up to go out. Bear in mind the park is in Southern California. Between the heat from the sun, the still 'wet' asphalt and the heat from under the asphalt below women were, getting 'stuck' in the asphalt and had to either abandon their shoes or do their best to pry their heels out of the pavement as best they could, so they could wear some sort of shoes to go home in.

@@a1crux Opening Ceremonies serve different purposes and they are "opening ceremonies" for a reason. One of which of the many reasons are to introduce the said subject while they're still at it, otherwise noone would care even if they were finished. Speaking of finishing the build, it's hard to finish a WHOLE park. If anything, They had to introduce it to trusted public figures immediately so the public in general will be pretty much aware of the place already. Its like "easier said than done". On the other side however, it isn't the production who is at fault anyway. They invited people but most of the audience who came were uninvited and they were unable to settle things thoroughly.

The inflation would make a 50c ticket then would cst like $5

A lot of people in the comments are complaining about the price of tickets nowadays. Firstly, there is a thing called inflation. $1 in the 50’s was worth a lot more back then when people were earning say $10 a week. In addition to this, the ticket was only to give you entry to the park. You had to pay for each ride on top of this which were different prices depending on how the ride was graded. Today the ticket includes rides and you don’t have to pay extra for them. People complaining that it’s too expensive to go, well no it isn’t. The parks attract thousands upon thousands of people a day. Attendance is not low at all. Just because you personally can’t afford to go doesn’t mean it’s overpriced, you just can’t afford it. Companies don’t need to drop prices just because some people can’t afford it, because plenty of people are still willing to pay. Yes it’s disappointing if you can’t afford it but they need to make profits in order to continue expanding. I would rather pay more to visit a park that will be improving everytime I go, than to go to a park falling into disrepair and overrun with too many tourists.
