7:26 That equipment is actually a sickle bar mower. From the gears on the axle, it looks like it might be self driven from being pulled, either with a tractor or by horses. The pan seat hanging off the back allows the operator to control the horse team, and use the levers to engage the wheel-drive.

Having had offroad situations with a few tight spots, keeping a positive attitude and listening to those that know what's what is what makes a trip successful. It's a learning process and it can be scary at times...don't give up or burden your buddies with your tasks. i get why teddy was nervous, but dude is a good spotter. just listen to him and try and stay calm. the more you focus on falling the more you're not going to listen. The winch is ALWAYS a good safety anchor. the guys at 4wd 24-7 always use their winches as anchor points and they are wild on the trails.

Bruan is the best spotter, and even better at explaining things. After the long days he had no patience to explain things to me. Lol the winch line did let go (you can see/hear it in the video first clip). The second attempt the tree fell. I wasn't going to find out what happened the third time. But I take full responsibility for getting into that situation in the first place. A lesson learned. From great teachers in Braun and Shaun both.

Last year in Moab one of my scariest moments was on one of the easiest trails I did. I failed to take a sharp corner wide enough, and noticed in my rear view mirror that my right rear tire on my F250 was hanging off the edge. What made it worse is that part was also washed out and a shear drop straight down into the canyon. Thought for sure I was going to have to change my shorts after that one 😂.

@@numulis321 I wanted the people with more experience to get my truck out of that situation. After 2 failed winch attempts I was a little rattled. You wouldn't understand what that feels like. There was real consequences here, unlike your comments trying to make me look bad, all I can do is answer them. I have been called many things in my life, a coward is not one of them. You need to understand the definition of a coward. I got back in the truck and we got it done. You're hanging on to a 3 minute section of a 10 day trip. Any single person that has wheeled with me knows how I am out there, you don't. So stop. Because you're the coward on a keyboard and I promise you, you would not be calling me a coward in person.

The scariest Off-road trail indeed! Wow! 😰. It's already scary enough to do this with the sun shining but at night is a different animal man... Had me doing deep breaths especially at 17:21 and 19:00 the camera doesn't do justice as to how scary those lean angles are. It's different when you're in the driver seat and for the spotter. But I would listen to Braun any day man... He's a good spotter. I showed this to my wife and friends. If you don't mind, my suggestion would be to bring extra people who can act as muscle during these trips. It's already stressful enough for the driver to drive and film at the same time in these conditions, let alone cut and remove branches. Also, I think it wouldn't hurt to attach an extra winch at the back. Shaun, amazing footage as usual! We're not even close to filming and editing at this quality. Great friends you have there. I know Teddy panicked but still, you rarely see a friend these days who's willing to take the extra effort to get gas for you all. Time and money are sometimes interchangeable terms. Thanks again and stay safe out there... ✌😎

Wow!! Driving through the grass like that just struck me as incredible for some reason. Like… you have an idea of where you’re supposed to be going, but you have to kinda sift through the terrain to find it. It’s awesome! 99% of the offroading that we do these days is just following trails made by others before us, or that were once forest service roads. But, all these trails we follow were made by someone at some point. At the pioneering of the off road community, someone picked, cut, trampled and explored their way through. Sorry for the long comment… just so awesome!

Cameras very seldom show how bad off camber tracks are and ill bet this was no different. Its easy to sit at home and say how we would handle these situations. But to be Teddy sitting in a lifted Gladiator, feeling the rear-end slipping downhill, your heart pounding every time the uphill wheels go over some lift in the track, every instinct telling you to stop and get out before your rolling downhill. Then to get back in that rig, on that death trap of a track and finish the section takes alot of huevos. Yeah ill bet there was a few times on that hillside that all of them probably wouldnt have minded being some where else. Nice team work!!

Awesome content! I wish we had OnX available in 2019. We filmed but our camera equipment, editing skills/knowledge were lacking. So interesting how much some things change while others are exactly the same. We too only had 3 hard working dudes (and a dog). We were using the BRMB hard copy map book and had a navigation system that was useless so we had to ask for directions in Kluskus. We were given a much different way out of the village. I want to go back now just to drive the sketchy hillside that you boys ran there. Very cool! Let us know next time. We'll tag along and NOT leave you midway through the trail. We know what the trail has to offer and aren't afraid of the working end of a saw, shovel or log (if you are this trail is not for you). lol

These adventures have to be with the right people otherwise fights and problems will happen. That’s one reason I avoid long trips with strangers.

That situation is by far the worst to have. Imagine not having any bush or trees on the side. Nobody would have gone farther. Only the experienced spotter saved the situation. Good job! In simular situations a winch on the back of the truck could be of help. Sometime we also winched down a hill with three winches and the truck in the air like a cable car.

Man I told Teddy to get new tires like a year ago. Those things are for gravel roads at best.

The most awful situation I can think of is driving sideways like that. I have a trail I go on near where I live that is about the same sideways as this video and it is scary. Even without all that heavy stuff you guys got on top. But, I'm glad that I do it because it really shows me what my Jeep can do.

Unpopular opinion: Teddy’s lack of trust in his team makes him a liability to the safety and success of your mission (which was obviously completed.) Remote trips like this require all team members to stay resilient and reliable under pressure, not add to the chaos.
