They really need to bring back the box test. It gave a realistic representation and display of how much we would able to fit inside of it, and also let us judge if the capacity number itself matters that much. Heck, the Civic Type R scored so well for it's type of car, for example. Only a few boxes shy of thd CR-V!

Although I don't love it, I have to appreciate the honest greenhouse. Even with that rear kink continuing from the door, the flat roof line and upright lift gate really give it such a good boxy shape. The rear overhang is pretty massive, but I'm thankful for its flat beltline wrapping around the rear.

Though Infiniti brand has been falling behind its competitors in term of technology, they still make decent vehicles. I own every single car/SUV in their line-up, from G35, G37 coupé, M37, FX50s, and QX56 and they are all very reliable. My QX56 (QX80 in this video) is an amazing vehicle. There’s a reason these continue to sell fairly well… simple, good looking luxury. Not everyone wants all the complicated tech that most of their competition has. I know the majority of people here won’t understand that, but there’s still a crowd out there that’s not as tech savvy as most of us. And the Land Cruiser and Patrol have always had really long product life cycles and the current LX is just as old, if not older. But I don’t see a problem with either 🤷🏾‍♂️. Also it does share pretty much the same interior with the Armada, but the materials and quality are really good so it’s not like the QX80 feels cheap. It actually seems the Patrol/QX80/Armada was designed as an Infiniti first, interior design language wise. Point is, it’s good for what it is and Infiniti has an audience for the QX80 despite its age. Can’t wait to see what the new one looks like based on how nice the interior of the new QX60 is.

Checked out the pricing online for the US and holy crap I would never pay 70K+ (base trim RWD only) for this. The nicest trim is $85k and still charges you $500 for puddle lights from the side mirrors… I truly cannot fathom how this is gonna compete with the likes of an X7/GLS/Defender; especially since they are the same price or cheaper than this up-badged Nissan. No baseline AWD on this type of car is ridiculous as well. Great video as usual guys, thanks!

Just bought a blacked out 2021! I drove the new Escalade and although a nice looking car this one was way nicer. Coming from a 2020 glb Mercedes that had a ton of tech (and issues) I was looking for something not as advanced that wouldn’t keep my car In The shop for long periods of time like my previous car was. I love the double screen over the new single screen. Very useful when using apple car play and want to change climate or do anything else in your vehicle I don’t have to back out of the apple car play screen. Yeah back up camera sucks but how often are you in reverse. As a whole this is the best looking luxury suv out there today!! And I love the rear view mirror camera.

This is based on the legendary Patrol but has some off-road bits missing (locking diff) if I am not mistaken. If anything, it is a budget LX570 (aka Land Cruiser) and I would have liked to have seen it compared to that. Also, the price is close to a loaded Lexus GX460 and I would have liked to see how this compares, given the same intended purpose/function.

Had one of these for a few days a few years ago. Always wanted to drive one, until I did. Doesn’t Tahoe compete with Armada? Although it hasn’t evolved much since the 60’s it’s still a good looking vehicle. Side & front 3/4 profiles are the best. Steering is WAY too light. It doesn’t communicate well at all. That motor is strong and the towing capacity is commendable. The space utilization is poor. The amount of usable space on the inside is shocking based on the size of the exterior of the vehicle. I disagree with Yuri. All of the seats should be usable when you buy a largish vehicle like this. You basically have 4 usable seats in a giant looking suv. You may as well have a Sorrento type vehicle. In the one that I drove the front seats provided almost 0 support 👎. So glad to see they updated the infotainment. Jakub did you just agree when he said completely comfortable in every single row? Soooooo the top of the line Infinity has a worse lane keep system than the Rogue??? It’s a no for me. Appreciate the video though. Long time fan. Keep up the good work.

That's a comically small rear window wiper. 🤣 They probably nicked it off from a Nissan Micra.

i just can’t imagine buying an infiniti when it’s this out dated and for a couple thousand more you could get an X7 or GLS

But imagine thinking that a base German car with no features will have the same amenities as a loaded Infiniti for the same price.

You get a nicer badge with the x7 or GLs. But the QX has more off road capabilities, its a true body on frame truck for towing boats and trailers.

I’m surprised they use the same gauges they use in the Sentra, and the interior is exactly like the Armada… very odd.

Liking the review. Still comprehensive. Drove the Armada a while back for a week and I liked it. I'm sure this one is way better. Also, I know not having it make for faster production, but where's the box test? #boxtest #bringbacktheBoxTest

They are styled so well, I still just wish they were up to par on everything else compared to the newer models and tech available. Why my money wouldn't go to infinity unless heavily discounted... which seems to be a trend LoL

I read an article that had the top 5 worst luxury brands for retaining value after 3yrs and infinity made the list with this being the worst car from infiniti for holding value after 3 years. Now this is bad for new car owners it could actually be a benefit for used car buyers to save a buck. Personally I don't care for it's fuel economy at all.

One thing no one talk about is Body Motion Control. Drive this on winding roads and then compare it with the Armada. It would mean kids throwing up versus not throwing up in the rear seats. I am surprised reviewers, whose job is to bring these things out just do not do their research. Also the "simulated manual" gear shifting. That of course cannot be used as a sports-car, however very useful during cornering or hill descents, although grade-shifting is also good on this vehicle. Surprised you did not mention that.

Loved that you did this video, I don't see enough of the QX80 reviews to get my craving for watching reviews on cars. Though I can't wait to see you @yuri @jakub do a video on the 2021 Nissan Maxima 40th Anniversary Edition... I own it and wish I could loan it you both for the review, but I'm in Chicago!! Ahhh, do a video on the Maxima!!!

Not sure about all the comments VERY RELIABLE! I would never buy one without bumper to bumper coverage…..never. One computer in these it’s 3000.00 before labor. Plenty of electrical issues as they aged. Gas wise, it’s a crime to drive it. Comfortable, yes and very. Insurance on it, ooooooh boy. I would buy a Lexus instead.

a BIG part of why I buy a car is the sound system, you guys should do a 20 second car stereo review of EVERY car.. Treble bass (weak or pounding) overall surround sound quality etc.. My Merc burmister is WAY better than my bose in my Q70

The wheels look like they suit the rest of the vehicle. Honestly, I'm pretty sick of oversized wheels on normal vehicles. They're very heavy, easy to bend hitting a pothole and insanely expensive. Fitting giant brakes is the only time huge wheels are really necessary. No regular car needs giant wagon wheels on it. It literally makes everything about owning the vehicle worse, maybe save for steering response and appearance.
