Subscriber to your channel as well. I have an early 2021, also in Portimao Blue. I also had to forego the adaptive dampers as none where available at the time in the color. However, I replaced the runflats with 245/40r19 Comp2 A/S’s to both get a little more meat on the sidewall for Long Island winters / potholes and get a little more tire (the 225’s to me are a little too narrow for the car). It smoothed out the ride. I do still think the rebound over taller bumps can be a little harsh / weird. I have noticed that on other BMWs though in the past. That’s the one criticism I have about the suspension that I hope the adaptive would fix.

I honestly think this new M340i with the mid-life cycle refresh, looks a little better than the previous.

I agree. I have found the LCI models over the last three generations to be much nicer than pre-LCI, however there’s always the opposite camp that feels just as strongly. I’m starting to think BMW has been quite clever about this. Pre-LCI targets Group A and alienates Group B, then the LCI does the reverse, rinse repeat every generation.

Agree with not being able to find a comfortable position in the seat. The side bolsters on the base of the seat don't allow for a comfy thigh spot

They got rid of the hard climate buttons? Ok, I finally figured out why designers are doing this. They're donkeys following fads. Horrible.

This. My only experience with the LCI was youtube videos and I couldn't help thinking the pre-LCI was better. When I finally sat in one, all the design changes just made sense. The touchscreen looked great, and the lack of buttons and gear stick just looked so clean

Well; nice looking car. Though I must say I really hate the digital trends going on. The last thing I want to see after being behind a computer screen all day in the office is a curved screen in my car. Oh well, at least it’s not an EV. These car trends really remind me of what happened to call of duty over the years. Cod4,Waw,MW2,BO1 were great games, even though they were simpler, at least those games worked perfectly well. From that point on, it all went downhill: skill based match making, disbanding lobbies after every match and most importantly: filled with micro options/micro transactions and games that are far from finished upon release. Though that’s probably where the car industry is headed as well. Theres so much money to be made with that business approach, though it sucks the soul out of every little thing while doing so. Good video btw

How long term reliability you want? 20 years and 2 million miles? Because B58 has been in production for 7 years now and I have seen over 400 000km driven cars.

I'm glad I bought a '21 M340i. I DO NOT like this so-called refresh at all. Moronic to get rid of the gear selector and replace it with a toggle switch. I can't believe this is actually becoming a thing nowadays. So stupid. As much as the single widescreen display looks sort of cool, I still prefer having separate screens like in my car. I can only imagine how the sunlight is going to reflect like crazy off that display since the main tach display is not covered like the previous design.

BMW finally listens they changed the infotainment and put it on the dash elongated for me this makes lots of sense it’s driver focus no need to keep looking down its all up there with the Windshield.

This is still the only gas car I would buy if I decided to sell my '22 Model 3 Performance. Kind of bugs they went with an all touchscreen user experience, but I've already gotten kind of used to that with the Tesla. But that doesn't mean I love it...I've just gotten used to it.

I love that the left paddle shifts it down to the lowest available gear. My Mercedes does the same thing although it’s an awful slow transmission.

Honestly, BMWs still having hard buttons and the 1-8 favourite keys was a huge reason I own one. Touchscreens are pure shite to use while driving. The last BMW they make with hard buttons will be the last BMW I own.

My current U.K.-spec 2020 M340i (like my 2018 440i Coupe before) has adaptive dampers but also has physical menu shortcut buttons that are SO useful. This alone (apart from the ugly new dashboard and worse looking headlights) would stop me buying the LCI 3-Series!

Yeah, not a huge fan of this LCI 3. I just picked up a 2021 Certified M340i last month, specifically because I like the looks of the pre-LCI one more, and because of the actual shifter which provides much more versatility than the rocker switch.
