Even if we ignore the difference in size (and what that represents in dollar figure), the cost to get 70hp reliably, upgraded transmission, the adaptive suspension, the added features such as HUD heated and Cooled seats, it would cost more than 10k. But this comparison really shows how far the Civic has evolved. Its basically a small luxury car now.

For me it's still the Accord 2.0 hands down. It's factor based for anyone looking at these two. What can be afforded at the moment, how long does one plan to keep the car, and ones age. The first is self explanatory. You should only buy what you can actually afford. The second is a bit different. If I just need something to get me around for the next few years, I'm not going to drop a lot of money on it. If I plan to keep it a good while, I want the best I can get. Last, age is about transitional years. What I want in my teens and 20s will usually be different from my 30s and 40s. I could see more younger people going for the Civic, and middle aged to older people going for the Accord.

Loved the review. I did this same comparison this past week and ended up buying the Accord. The ride feels more premium due to the bigger engine, 10 speed transmission, and compliance over bumps and rough patches probably because of the adaptive dampers and wheel base. The rear seat passengers get heated seats and climate vents while the Civic gives neither in the US. The Civic is a great not so little car though and is the better bang for your buck, especially the hatchback but the price difference is around $8k in the US when comparing both top trims and the hatch.

@@-SP. That's why I'm swapping out my 2018 Corolla iM hatchback for a 2022 Kia Rio next week. I rented one a month ago and was getting an astonishing 44-45 MPG on the highway with the CVT, which uses a chain instead of a belt. At $18,000 and with the way cars are being marked up, I couldn't say no for the price and big savings I'll enjoy on the fuel.

There is a way to completely turn off civic traction. I don’t know if you guys did this. When i first saw this i thought it wouldn't work but it does. Here it is: 1. Turn the car to one position. 2. Parking brake off. 3. Press and hold the brake pedal. 4. Turn traction control on and off. 5. Parking brake on. 6. Release the brake pedal. 7. Turn traction control on and off. 8. Did the same comparison. Ended up getting the accord due to comfortability and back seat space. I also noticed a big difference when driving it on the highway. The accord was just comfortable and the civic felt like my 2010 Toyota Corolla and I was not having any of it. Both amazing cars but for my needs the accord was the way to go.

Bought a 2021 Accord Touring Hybrid , hated the “premium audio” and low profile tires that rode hard. Added decent speakers ,amplifier and went down in rim-tire size, major improvement. Actually which they offered phev and 300 + hp on the Accord , that would be awesome.
@wbwayne88872 жыл бұрын
Next generation Accord should be out sooner than later. Hopefully a PHEV will be included in the lineup.
@FreewayBrent2 жыл бұрын
Does reducing the rim/tire size below the manufacturer's stock size negatively impact handling and steering in any way? I've always wondered about that. One thing I hate about the 17 inch alloy stock wheels on my 2018 Toyota Corolla iM over the 15 inch standard wheels in the Australian model of the same hatchback (which I've driven several times over in Sydney) is that the 17 inch alloy wheels and tires just flat out ride harder and make the car as a whole bouncier. Can't stand it. I'm actually in the process of downgrading to a 2022 Kia Rio sedan. Had the 2018 Rio hatchback (same generation and both ride on the same wheelbase) and the 15 inch tires made that car more stable and planted vs. what I'm experiencing in my Corolla iM.

Had a 2018 Accord 2.0. Only complaint was the audio system. It had the 450watt premium audio with sub. It was mediocre at best.
