I’ve tried it on my half rack. I would definitely recommend that anyone trying this needs to have the power rack or cage bolted to the floor. A landline attachment bolted to said rack or cage would be ideal. No counter weight needed and offers a little more safety.
@TheStrengthClassroom4 жыл бұрын
Does it tip forward on the half rack?
@Oh6Torch4 жыл бұрын
The Strength Classroom I haven’t put enough weight on it to tip over. With that being said, we’re using it outside of the manufacturer’s intended use. So, bolting it down adds an extra measure of safety. I just lean on the side of caution.

I like it, but I made one with a 4x4 and just drilled a hole in the back part of the 4x4 to run the safety bar on a squat rack thru it. I attached a 1 inch black iron pipe on top with a flange and 2 eye bolts on the front for the belt and it works perfectly. I support it with a 4x4 with an attached handle. Painted it black. Less than 30$. Love it! I can only get about 225 on it so I did order the bells of steel belt squat. I could get more weight on it if I ran the iron pipe thru the 4x4 horizontally but I wanted to able to go low on certain days.

Buy 2 pieces of steel pipe 2-3 inch long, one piece to slide over your rack pin,the other to slide your barbell through, so just over the two diameters of pin and bar, weld them together crossways small on top of the bigger diameter,so small tube is in line with rack,while larger tube is pointing out towards side of rack, place your bar through and put collar on

This is a long time after...but I have been using the landmine variation on raised platforms. It is true as stated here that the 45 pound plates are huge, so the platform is necessary. The main issue is I have to start in the squatted position to hook on. So my first movement is from squat to standing. I actually found it is not as hard if I use my hands on my knees as leverage to stand up the first time (or use handles or something else to hold on to to pull yourself up). Again, it is true as stated here that you solve one problem only to create another. But for someone who works out alone, it might be worth the effort.
