Another thing, when you mentioned "anxiety" and a "time pressure" during the spitter soundtrack (Pile of Bile) I was amazed how you hit the nail on the head once again. Plus the mentioning of a clock sound was something I've never picked up on. Awesome video, excited for more.

I'd love to hear his reaction to the OST for "Project Zomboid" - it has a similar modern take on some southern sounds like Banjos - and it transitions between an ambience or orchestic music to a high-energy almost rock or industrial type - all to hit that sort of horror aesthetic for the zombie apocalypse that L4D2 also was hitting. If I had to recommend a few of their many many tracks (and variations of tracks for low or high threat), I'd say "Theme Remix" (it's the new version of the main menu theme they first used like a decade ago), "Holding out Hope", "Keep Moving", "Maybe We Can Win This", "They Were Once Here", "Touch and Go", and "Surrounded." Since the game is based in Kentucky you'll hear more of the banjo and maybe less jazz. I'm thoroughly impressed with it, as I've been following the game since maybe 2013, and the music artist (Zach Beever) they had on board was only 16 years old when he started writing music for this game, getting into this as a hobby and trying to turn it into a job. He's incredibly talented.

Each map has its own beginning music that represents the essence of that campaign. The jazz-type music you heard represents the last map known as The Parish. The context of that map is a city where the apocalypse began in a season like a festival/carnival, hence the characteristic instruments: trumpet, drums, etc. After that beginning comes the representative music of the game, which is the banjo part. It will always be after the representative beginning of the map.

Oh sweet, another L4D video! Time to provide some context for the songs again, for anyone not familiar with the game: "The Saints Will Never Come" is one of the songs that can play when interacting with a jukebox (Which plays vinyl discs in-game). It's pretty much just an ambient detail that helps make the world feel more alive and interactable. (The other songs that can play are "RE: Your brains", "One Bad Man", "Midnight Ride", "Save Me Some Sugar", "All I Want for Christmas", and Portal's "Still Alive") "Dead Easy" is the intro theme for the campaign "The Parish", which takes place in the overrun city of New Orleans, amidst military bombings. The survivors are trying to fight their way to a distant bridge, hoping to catch the retreating military and finally escape the infected for good. It's the final campaign in the game's story. "The Monsters Within" is the track that plays when the survivors have finished the campaign and escaped, synced to the stats appearing (Which are stylized to look like movie credits). You can think of it as a victory theme or celebration track. I especially like the tone shift becoming more ominous and dark halfway, really leaning into the whole "We are safe... but for how long?" theme of the game. "Pile of bile" plays for the Spitter's acid. It's a female special infected that spews corrosive stomach acid at the survivors, which damages them if they stand inside of it. "Puddle of you", on the other hand, plays when a survivor is incapacitated and close to bleeding out. Looking forward to the next video!

Yo, try listening to every intro theme of L4D2 campaigns since they have unique instrumentals that goes well with the environment of those campaigns.

Honestly seeing you react to the Left 4 Dead 2 soundtrack makes me feel better than ever. I wish you would react to the game's menu themes.
