Define "made it"... Their sound wasn't approachable or sellable for mainstream as speed punk style was long gone in the 80s. But, they still have a loyal following, they are still doing shows LONG AFTER many of the "made it" bands have quit. So I think they are doing alright.

Agree, certainly a hard working band, respect the integrity to performing and the quality of their music . Anti Flag would be another band that comes to mind that has or continues to gig a ton. In other genres for example B.B. King was just ridiculous doing something like over 250 shows a year on the road or The Grateful Dead who toured relentlessly for decades. On a local level here in the C-Bus Methmatic's are putting up numbers in terms of shows. I'm not saying one is more important or does more than another, I just respect folks with the work ethic and DYI attitude to get out there and do it year after year for like decades. There are quite a few that do- in truth a great many extremely talented performing artists regardless of genre - busking at the club level is just a reality of the profession regardless of level of commercial sales or recorded material. For your local pro musician who is trying to support a family it's real good thing to have the work. The typical problem is most towns have their equivalent to the A call list -the elite few that get most of the work, for recording, Broadway acts, or performers like Dr. John or George Jones, that almost always used to hire local for their shows. To get on such a list you basically have to be a musical god (master multi instrumentalist and of multiple genres of music).

Saw The Melvins with Primus at The Greek Theater in Berkeley in '93. Maybe '94. It was great.

I'm amazed at the sound quality on these Strombo videos, considering the small space.

Such legends! I'm glad they're still going, Buzz and Dale. But man, I still can't believe how short-lived the "two drummers" thing was. A Senile Animal was the first album of theirs I ever bought, but I think I had pirated and listened to Bullhead before, I can't really remember. When I bought Stoner Witch shortly after A Senile Animal, it sort of became my favorite of theirs, maybe tied with Senile Animal.

I saw them live with the two drummers when they opened for Down. The was one of the sickest shows I have been to. Watching the two drummers play exactly in sink with one another awesome to witness. Also when they would play off one another. Just amazing!
