Dooku was older, came to the Darkside late, and was a man of action. Likely spending much of his Darkside points, to keep himself active and physically fit. Growing up as a Jedi, he is used to people understanding that he is a skilled Force user, he had that appearance to keep up. Palpatine was young, had only known the Darkside and has learn how to keep that hidden. And he is a master politician with many connections. So, the Force is a tool, one of the multitude at his disposal, and he would use it when and if he needed too. Nihilus and Sion were changed by what happened on Malacore V. The normal rules don’t apply. Like with many Sith rituals that kept those like Vitiate alive into another life or allowed the spirits of some ancient Sith Lords to retain a portion of them power after the physical bodies had died, or like with the Palpatine clones.

This theory is actually not well supported (an issue with a lot of Star Wars stuff). It contradicts A-Level canon. Dooku was growing stronger as he grew older. His connection to the Dark Side was increasing, and he was still physically in top shape. The duel on Oba Dia in 19 BBY is a prime example. If Dooku was merely aging into nothing, why did Sidious fear his grooming an apprentice? In any event, Palpatine was also aging, connection to the Force notwithstanding. Like Yoda, he was growing infirm when not augmented. Dooku at 83 was naturally spry. Sidious at 83 was already relying on a walking stick.

Aside from his age, Dooku was conflicted about how things were going during the Clone Wars along with the things he had done. He wanted the Jedi to be free from their dogma and what he saw as their enslavement to the Republic, but so many of them had died and turned to the dark side during the Clone Wars, along with him having taken the lives of more than a few of them. He justified it to himself by seeing the dark side and everything he was doing as a means to an end, but it was undoubtedly eating away at him and helping to degrade his body even further because of how he wasn't fully committed to the dark side. What he never realized was that, to Palpatine, he was a means to an end himself and a disposable pawn when the time was right.

I think it also has to deal with the fact that Dooku didn’t use the dark side that much. His body aged just by turning his hair and beard white which is normal. He never truly embraced the dark side. If he did, he would have had SITH eyes. By only taking a small sample of the dark side he grew weaker, but he used the dark side more often, he may have not grew weaker

Even if Dooku had the same level of experience as Sidious, he wouldn't have grown as much powerful. The main reason here is that Sidious enjoyed being evil and Tyrannus didn't. You can't truly embrace the Dark Side unless you let it engulf you completely. However, he certainly would've given Sidious a run for his money.

Like he felt Anakin being born and after a year or so found out where he was born. Killed Shmi and trained him from birth to be the Prefect Sith. Reaching his Full Potential Both in Power & Darkness. Making Him Darth Sith'ari and overthrowing Sidious once Palpatine became the Emperor. As we all know, George Lucas said that Anakin's full potential was 200% to Palpatine's 100%. But after Mustafar Vader was only 80% to Sidious 100%. But that Sidious always thought that Vader's weakness was laying more in his mind, than his body. Dooku wasn't a natural Sith either. He turned to the Darkside out of desperation to "save" the Galaxy because he saw the corruption of the Senate and Jedi. Sidious on the other hand was a natural user of the Darkside. Dooku straddled the line in the middle kind of like Mace, and Revan ,and even G.M. Luke from Legends. They found a way to walk in between and find a place.

I also think a part of Dooku just refused to let himself FULLY give himself to the dark side. He could never shake his old jedi discipline (Although he did dabble in the dark side even as a jedi). Oh he was certainly an evil dark sider through and through by the end of his life, but its kind of like he refused to become fully one with it. If Dooku was able to train earlier in life in the dark side, I'm almost willing to bet he'd be the equivalent of Vader and Anakin would never have been turned, or even be made a jedi. Don't agree. I don't know of any other Sith aging rapidly just because of the use of the Dark Side. True, Sith didn't live a healthy and balanced life - I would say Jedi lived especially long lives compared to average humans, Sith - not so much. I also don't see Dooku weaker. It was Anakin growing stronger, and Dooku made the mistake Anakin made at their first fight - he underestimated them just because he beat them with ease the first time. This was all calculated from Palpatine's side - he wanted Anakin to win and kill Dooku. He was sure that Anakin will do it. It was all part of the plan. I would say all down to Dooku's dilemma as an anti-villain - he knew that Palpatine will destroy the world as they knew it, that he is the real enemy, but with all his machinations he couldn't find a way to overturn him. He was trapped by Palpatine and the dark side, doomed to fail. He even knew it and told Kenobi - "It is too late for me now my friend." Same as with Anakin - if you go to the dark side for help, it will trap you forever. That is the deal with the devil - you always lose yourself, only question is in what way. All the Sith have their own tragedy written somewhere.

Not sure as much about Disney Canon but in Legends Expanded Universe Dooku had either a midichichlorian count almost as high as Yodas or at the same reach as The Green Grandmaster so depending on which one that would make his count either a little or neutrally higher then Maces. But since there was actually a source that said Dooku would of been a jedi master on the same level of Yoda had he not exited the organization and that he was a unique case within the jedi order for that and for being universally respected I am going to say Dooku was equal to Yodas potential it would also make more sense of why Yoda felt he himself was best suited to train a infant Dooku sensing that Dookus natural force connection was riddling even for himself to comprehend among other claims noting that Yoda took Dooku for his mega high force potential mostly also helped he went to the temple at a fitting age unlike Anakin yeah.

Palpatine is a dark side capacitor, absorbing the pain and misery, growing in power as the dark side does. His skill in Sith sorcery gives him this ability. That's a massive stretch. Dooku was strong, but he didn't have nearly the same potential of force power as the Skywalkers or Palpatine. There is no version of events in which Dooku could reach the power levels of Darth Sidious or EU's Grandmaster Luke, both of whom are the two most powerful non-divine beings in Star Wars, with the only other being in galactic history having a greater potential than them being Anakin.

The only Star Wars character who had a higher count, and thus Force Potential, than Palpatine, was Anakin. Luke and Leia received a shared amount of Anakin's Force Potential/ Midichlorian count, and were either around the same as Palpatine or slightly lower. My point stands: Dooku could not have reached the peak powers of either Sidious or the Skywalkers, no matter how hard he trained, because there IS a ceiling to potential power, and Palpatine and the Skywalkers had far higher ceilings than anyone else who wasn't divine.

Why cybernetics were such a drawback for Darth Vader not only of Force level, but also on a physical level, making him much less agile and swift, but General Grievus' cybernetics enhanced his strength, dexterity and reaction to a degree he, despite not being a force user, was a menace even for a group of jedi knights? While Grievous was enhanced to full potential or what Palpetine sees as such, Palpetine likely had his reasons to avoid Darth Vader reaching such a state, as Darth Vader's potential was so much if allowed to, Darth Vader could overthrow the Emperor, so Palpetine made sure to avoid that. What Darth Vader did on Death Star II wasn't overthrowing, it was unexpected self sacrificing redemption, in a way Palpetine succeeded in this front, but failed in other front as well, they all can't be gems, can't they? That's my idea.

Much older yes and much wiser also partly yes. But not more powerful for sure. Even in the dark side dooku feared Sidious more than death. Sidious had nearly unbeaten force potential, the only one coming close to him are Anakin and Yoda. Anakin was the chosen one and clearly more gifted and I think Yoda was about as gifted as he was but the dark side made Sidious superior in 1v1 combat. Dooku lost against Yoda and devoted himself to Sidious knowing that he could learn many things from him. He should have never done things Sidious asked for like creating the clones or leading a separatists movement and rather should have teamed up with the Jedi. But they were too blind to believe him. They would have said Sidious can't be a sith and wouldn't have helped, allowing the corrupt republic to be taken over by Sidious. Dooku saw that and decided to be on the winner team and he was. Only for him to realize that the winner team didn't want him anymore after his usefulness expired

There is no scenario in which Dooku defeats Palpatine in combat, and even with treachery, it's doubtful he could outsmart Sidious. Sidious was capable of slaying Dooku at any time without breaking a sweat. Dooku realized this during one of their rare sparring sessions, and in the Clone Wars (which are 100% canon) Sidious Force Choked Dooku from across the Galaxy and Dooku was both powerless to prevent it and powerless to break free of it. Think about that. Sidious broke through Dooku's Force protection in less than a second while he was on the other end of the GALAXY. No, Dooku could not have defeated Sidious on his own. Not even remotely.

Are there examples of older sith that were assassin / stealth type fighters? I mean, in games / lore there's usually the pure force users, the bulky tanks and the fast assassins. Palpatine would be a force user. Sion, Vader or Malgus come to mind as tanks whose body withers but still retain their tankiness via the force. Maul comes to mind as an assassin but he slowed down. Were there any speed/assassin type sith that used the force to retain their style in their older years?

Ajunta Pall. Although the lore varies on him. Some lore has him as what you asked about, other lore considered him a Juggarnaut. Since his first mainstream introduction in the lore was Kotor 1, and that presented him as a speedy-type assassin, I'd go with that label more than the tanky one. An argument could be made for Exar Kun, but like Sidious, he could honestly be considered elite amongst every category you listed. Yes, I know, it sounds odd to think of Sidious as a tanky juggarnaut of a lightsaber warrior, but the crazy thing is, he was 100% capable of this, he just chose not to because it wasn't necessary due to his Force Power. Even in old age, Sidious could easily don some armor like Malgus and wreck a bunch of Jedi at once while wielding dual lightsabers. He used the Force to grant himself inhuman speed and strength. Exar Kun was similar, though not QUITE as powerful as Sidious, regardless of what some fanboys wish to think.

I think Sidous and Plaguies were right to age their dark side powers like a fine wine but they were fools to ignore their bodies like the way they did, if they let refine their powers and kept their bodies more in shape like Dooku did they might be even more powerful in long run. Keeping themselves more in shape could have slowed down dark side toll if only slightly.

So despite Force Healing being a rare exclusive light side ability, it appears that the light side offers a minor form of it to all those who live by the light side of the Force. It offers vitality every force sensitives. That despite how a Jedi ages, he/she shall remain fast and strong so long as they do not turn from the light.

In the original canon (the EU) Palpatine was stronger when he became younger in Dark Empire with the clone body. Since I don' t watch Disney's alternate universe I don't know about if it works the same way.

That simply comes down to two little things... His race and his inherent connection to the dark side being of the same race as Mother Tausand (can't remember how to spell it)

Mother Talzin. Maul wasn't human, so he ages differently. He's a Zabrak from Dathomir, the male version of the Nightsisters, and his mother was the most powerful Nightsister alive. Their race is inherantly connected to the Dark Side, like the Sith race and the Rakata, so Dark Side Degradation affects them differently.

the title of this video is wrong . dooku never grew weaker with age . on the contrary he received significant power boost after going dark as seen in AoTC in his confrontation with yoda and also during TCW where he casualy outduels the likes of anakin , obi wan ventress and savage . it is just that paplatine and anakin grew even more powerful and faster than dooku could ... anakin by the time he "tastes" the dark side during his invisible hand fight with dooku was boosted to the level dooku could no longer keep up with . (not to mention dooku was instructed not to kill anakin by palpatine and by the time he realized just how strong anakin have become it was already too late for him)

My guess: Palpatine was using the same dark side he had always used, so he became ever more abundantly evil the more he grew into it, and the more he developed & matured in evil. Evil was his native element. Dooku, OTOH, having been a very powerful user of the light side, was doing something deeply unnatural to him in embracing the dark side; so the more he grew into it, the weaker he became. Evil was not his native element; the light, was.

Dooku is Ginyu Palpatine is Frieza (though the power level in starwars is far less powerful hell Dooku knows Essence transfer so this makes SENSE)

It's simply because dooku was never truly using the dark side. He was manipulating the dark side for his own means, but he was always a lightside user. He never truly did anything evil and that's why his eyes never turned Sith
