Vitiate also destroyed all life on Ziost using the same ritual that he used on nathema but this time all by himself while also possessing multiple bodies simultaneously on Ziost. This also happened while his spirit was still split between Valkorian and his Vitiate form and his spirit in Vitiate had been weakend before and had just returned to the known galaxy. Meaning he wasn't even near his full power yet still destroyed all life on the planet.

In fairness Darth Nihilus could drain the life out of a planet and all it's inhabitants alone without any rituals. To be fair to Vitiate though he defeated Revan and Malak and turned them to the dark side and even later held his own against a later much more powerful Revan as well as Meetra Surik and Lord Scourge although Scourge did betray the other 2 and kill Meetra. This is of course not to mention the crazy feats he accomplished over his long life. Sidious's feats versus powerful Jedi are not great. He lost to Mace Windu in a lightsaber duel and fought to at best a draw with Master Yoda. He constantly lived in fear of Darth Vader and put safeguards into his suit to make him weak to force lightning. Most of Sidious's feats came against powerful Sith killing Darth Plagueis although he had to take him by surprise and probably his greatest lightsaber feat was defeating Darth Maul and Savage Opress together and making it look pretty easy. He has ragdolled Vader in the comics too a few times

Remember that Vitiate consumed the whole planet of Ziost, the former dark side capital of the Sith Empire, in seconds, without a ritual and without a corporeal form. Prior to this he mind controlled its entire population using them as puppets and using their deaths to fuel his power. He consumed two planets whereas Nihilus consumed one. Unlike Nihilus, who was a slave to his power, Vitiate was master of it. He could give his servants immortality as a gift. He ruled two galactic empires through two hosts at the same time for 300 years. He ruled unchallenged as Emperor of the Sith for 1300 years. He dominated the minds of 8000 ancient sith at once during a time when the Sith were at their most powerful. Even Revan using both the light and dark side in tandem was no match. He would have consumed the entire galaxy if the Republic and Empire, Jedi and Sith did not unite to defeat him. He has no equal and none are his match.

Everything you attribute to the Eternal Empire between 5:20 and 7:06 except for the Zakuul and Eternal fleet stuff was actually done by him thru the Sith Empire, which itself remained hidden until around 300 years after the mandalorian wars. It was the Sith Empire that invaded the Republic, driving them back for almost 30 years until they sacked Couruscant, forced an unfair peace treaty on the Republic and fought the Cold War against the Republic until breaking the Treaty of Coruscant 12 years later and fighting the Republic in open galactic warfare once again for another 4 years before Valkorian decided to bring the Eternal Emprie out of wild space and join the fray. Because this man built not ONE, but TWO galactic superpowers AT THE SAME TIME, one of which was powerful enough to steamroll both other established galactic superpowers in only 5 years. The Eternal Empire was actually built by him from the ground up with the exception of the Eternal Fleet that he found on Iokath, from a single planet full of superstitious nomadic tribal humans, one of whom he possessed as Valkorian, to a galactic superpower in only 300 years contained entirely in wild space without any contact with the Sith Empire he was rebuilding in the unknown regions. Complete with its own unique lightsaber wielding force users, in case you thought it was missing something. It seemed mostly like a slip of the tongue, but it could be really confusing for anyone who doesn’t know anything about the Old Republic era, so I thought I’d point it out.

Imagine if they made it so Valkorion was the one behind Snoke and not Palpatine. They could have used the time spent on the casinos and space horses to instead have Luke explore a Sith tomb or something (encountering traps, illusions, and dark side spirits) where he gradually uncovers secrets about the ancient Sith. Concurrently, Kylo still kills Snoke, but the victory is soon made hollow because meanwhile Luke makes it to the end of the tomb and finds Valkorion buried there with a Sith holocron that reveals his plan about preserving his spirit in different vessels as his empire rebuilds in the unknown regions. The last episode could then have Kylo as the head of the First Order, Luke and Rey and other company as the focus of the New Republic, and Valkorion as a Sauron type figure that they have to work together to stop once Kylo realizes Valkorion does not intend to let Kylo stay as leader of his forces. The end could be a 3v1 battle of Luke, Rey, and Kylo vs Valkorion to show how truly powerful he is, with the trio prevailing through their different force abilities. But nah, we good with "Somehow, Palpatine returned". Let the fever dream continue.

Palpatine's master was Plagueis, Plagueis master was Darth Tenebrous.... Vitiates original name was Tenebrae.... Vitiate should have been using Plagueis (either dominated or better even transferred into and sub/consumed) to try and create a new vessel through midi chlorian manipulation, creating Anakin. Sidious however, being a master of ONE thing even better than Vitiate...... concealment... From the gate, Sidious greatest natural talent above just being a broad prodigy was his perfection of concealment. And it also makes him thematically the perfect conclusion to the Banite era of sith.... Viciously powerful similar to the sith of old, but leveraging the siths greatest power.... deception and secrecy I dont think even Vitiate could have been so proficient in the dark side and stood side by side with the Jedi council for years and go undetected! Make/explain Palpatine's betrayal of Plagueis unexpected because of this particular ability(and Vitiates presumably weakened state)! Thats why Anakin ends up being himself and not whatever they had been trying to create, and this could be/is in line with the ways the force often deals with these things/imbalances! Palpatine interrupts Vitiates plan! Then, although I consider the Disney stuff to be non-cannon marxist fem fiction, they could even have Vitiate either take over Palpatine, or work with Palpatine, either as a spirit or through possession, AND they could get the whole *I am all the sith* and then you could have through the newly discovered ability of the lightside of the force ghosts all the jedi do their force ghost thing and do the *I am all the jedi* (Please for the love of all thats right rephrase or frame that.... the idea is.... fine.... enough anyways... but atleast dont do it sooooo lazily and cornily!) But Disney could have that moment. It would make sense thematically, it would tie together ALL the eras of starwars harmoniously. It would provide a clean slate with a satisfying conclusion to all the previously existing stuff, and give Disney a platform to go in any direction from there and tell any story that they wanted...... IIRC Valkorion implies strongly in some dialogue with the Outlander that Vitiate and Valkorion were not the only forms he had taken. At the time, I took this to mean there could be a sort of "horcrux hunt" in future gameplay, or at the very least an opening for a possible reappearance at some point down the road. In my head I even figured that the Nathema ritual split his essence into Valkorion, so the Ziost ritual possibly accomplished something similar. And there's no telling if the Valkorion identity also managed to do anything similar during all his time on the throne... Although, what if the Death Star laser used kyber crystals as a sort of technological shortcut to achieving the same ritual effect? Then possibly Sidious was attempting to accomplish the same essence transfer by killing whole planets, and maybe explains why the throne room on the Death Star is at the top of that ridiculous spire with a shaft running down into the core🤔

This is more like what I would do. I would study everything from both the Jedi and sith, along with more Ancient ideas about the force. I wouldn’t go out trying to conquer the galaxy constantly. I wouldn’t go out testing my abilities against other sith. Sure maybe I’d help out taking down enemies others weren’t capable of, but I’d seriously just want to live for thousands of years and gain more knowledge and power. Till the point that even the father, son, and daughter would be afraid of me and want me to just agree to finally pass on.

I have a theory, that Nihilus abilities to consume the Force were to enable him to "eat" Valkorian specifically, Malachor was a beacon to lure him there. The ancient Sith hated Valkorian. Having consumed the Sith Emperor and all his acolytes, Nihilus would travel to Korriban and start a ritual to resurrect....Marka Ragnos. Seeing the Jedi almost completely wiped out troubled Ragnos and he journeyed to find the Jedi Exile, imploring Surik that the Emperor was still out there and a threat to all life in the galaxy. Although not trusting Ragnos, or Kreia, the Exile has no choice but to journey to the unknown regions, to find Revan and end the Sith Emperor.

Vitiate became paraoid with death after Marka Ragnos's death, so he not only performed that ritual on Nathema, but also performed another ritual in his own original body, like a fail safe in case everything goes wrong. That's why his Pure Blood Sith body is covered in tatoos. He then split his spirit in two, one found a great champion on Zakuul and took over his body, becoming Valkorion, and the other part kept ruling the sith empire using vessels known as "Voice of the Emperor". When a Voice is killed Vitiate does not die, but his spirit really gets weaker and that's why he hid on Yavin 4 and fed off the deaths that Revan created, and later even consumed Ziost, like he did on Nathema, but this time there was no need for a ritual, as he was a much more powerful sith than he was hundreds of years ago. After that he reunited with his other part, in Valkorion. The only way to truly kill him was to destroy his original sith body at the same time as his spirit was getting hit by the outlander and Valkorion's family, as this way there was nowhere else for him to run and he is now gone for good.

Yeah. I noted in a reply to another comment the sith purebloods had an affinity for the dark side in their species that others apparently did not. Plus the longevity of an old republic/ancient sith was such that they could afford to spend decades, or even centuries, delving into crazy arcane force abilities a mere human simply wouldn't live long enough to find out about, let alone master. Additionally Vitiate and the old school sith lords did not need to bother putting up a "respectable" front like Sidious did for all those years as Sheev the politician. It's not like he could just disappear for 20 or 30 years to go dig around some tombs on Korriban and nobody would notice.

In Revan and Malak’s defense (?). They were already Dark Jedi when they went in search of what or whoever was ultimately responsible for the Mandalorian crusade. And they had barely made it to the Emperor’s throne room before they were swarmed with guards and captured. While Revan and Malak returned to Republic space as Sith under orders from the Emperor, they had their own agenda. When Revan returned to Dromund Kaas to once again face the Emperor, he had just been released from 3 years of captivity. During his entrance to the throne room, he had been spotted by one of same guards that he and Malak encounter years before. While in the middle of their fight with the Emperor, Revan had held his against his Force lightning until he was distracted by one of his allies murder at the hands of his other ally that had came to challenge the Emperor with him. And that’s when the Emperor overpowered Revan. Revan spent the next 300 years in captivity, slowly being drained by the Emperor, and still manage to stall the Emperor’s planned invasion. Sowing the seeds of doubt. Though this eventual drove Revan half-mad. ---- Against Revan? He should have been more careful with getting through security before trying to access the throne room the second time around. Two, he should’ve never had trusted his Sith “ally”. Particularly since he had been one of captors. Three, I know he was half mad, by I still don’t believe that trying to bring back the Emperor was a good idea.

The only one whom got closest to matching Vitiates power was Revan in the novel, where he threw vitiate across the room, and scourge saw futures where Revan was triumphant in their battle, not mentioning Vitiate was sitting in a Darkside nexus, among other factors. But Vitiate did grow vastly with Ziost and the three hundred years, beyond any sith or Jedi.

It seems to me that the emperor was toying with him in the beginning, then after he got angry started to get serious and easily beat revan and was about to kill him with his own lightsaber. And this is still him with his power split between vitiate and valkorion, he isn't even whole.

If you are left wanting more lore on this entity I would suggest playing swtor. Much of the pictures in this video are directly from the game. The stories are amazing too and provide more connection to kotor and other ancient sith. If you want more Valkorian I would suggest Jedi Knight or Sith Warrior because their stories tie in with each other, any of the stories go to Knight's of The Fallen Empire where you get to play as the Outlander mentioned. The game is free on steam and I would highly recommend it.

It is kind of poetic, but almost no one even remembered valkorion/vitiates name. He started from nothing, became the most powerful being in the universe, a cancer on the force that the force itself needed to intervene with, and in the end he wasn't even allowed to die, but banished to the void. He ended up nothing and not even his name was remembered because only a handful of people knew he was truly behind everything or how powerful he truly was.

I am most curious about 1 thing. While Zakuul was an planet in perfect balance with the force, Valkorion didn't do anything to disrupt that balance. Even though he's evil, I think he still was a being with both Jedi and Sith abilities, and I think that is what made him so insanely powerful.

...or that's just a reference to pre-Valkorion Zakuul, since Vaylin alone would have been a pretty serious disruption to that balance, and by all accounts in-game, the Eternal Empire was far from a paradise for the average citizen.

Like most other beings, Vitiate grew wiser and more self-reflective with age. While he remained a dark side user of immense power, he was much more thoughtful and contemplative during his time as the Eternal Emperor. He found some value in being a fair ruler instead of just seeking to destroy everything around him (although he was still horrible to his family). Vitiate is a deep and fascinating character.

Nope. Valkorion arranged his own death either by the hands or arcann or the outlander because he was disappointed in his children and knew they would screw everything up. He got bored of playing the emperor and wanted to live a new life of a dashing hero. So he setup the entire thing, let his children screw everything up like he thought they would, then groomed the outlander to save the galaxy, after which he would take his body and be the new ruler/savior of zakuul, the empire and the republic.

I would argue that in Legends (which is the only place Vitiate exists, and therefore the only fair comparison) it's VERY open to debate which one of Vitiate or Sidious was stronger, since in Dark Empire Palpatine also does some crazy OP stuff. One thing Vitiate definitely has going for him is that he cracked the secret of immortality though, which is at least one thing Palpatine never quite managed to do.

Vitiate being more powerful in feats and achievement of tenure as a darklord is more powerful than Sidious. Essence transfer was the one ability Sidious wanted to master more than anything, yet he couldnt, Vitiate on the other hand obviously did to great affect, and held a greater cadence of rule of the empire than Sidious ever could, thats saying quite alot.

How is Sidious so powerful when all the Sith who came before him were literally far more powerful than Sidious? King Adas, Hakagram Graush, Dathka Graush, Nihilus, Vitiate, Valkorian, Bane, Malgus and many other Sith should all have been way beyond in power compared to Sidious. Sidious in my opinion is utter garbage... way over hyped, and aside from force lighting, what other great dark-side abilities does he have?

In my list, the only few sith more powerful than Sidious is Valkorion, Marko Ragnos, and Exar Kun. In the Canon, I'd say Darth Vader could do so as well.

Binding 8000 Sith Lords is no small feat at all. Practically an army of force users had to banish his spirit into chaos or risk him regaining strength and possessing a new vessel. Marka Ragnos, a sith lord feared for his might and never challenged directly for the title of dark lord of the sith, recognized the might in him as a child. Revan himself, someone who could channel both the light and dark side (the force unified, essentially), couldn't stand up to him. I absolutely believe Vitiate is a sith with no equal in regards to strength and knowledge of the force. He undoubtedly had access to scores of sith Holocrons, artifacts, and tomes and spend ages pouring over them, drained two worlds of all life and left a permanent storm of Dromund Kaas due to force experimentation, and built two empires from scratch (not corrupted and manipulated control of them like Palpatine. He built them). Palpatine pales in comparison IMO.
