Bane was not talking about 'the Force', he was talking about the dark side, in the context of the Sith betraying each other, the collective Sith order being weakened by their numbers. He directly compared it to the Jedi and the light, saying that the light side was exactly that torch, because the Jedi didn't have that drive to destroy and climb over each other

I think its a combination of both fire and venom depending on your alignment. The light burns brighter and brighter with more people using it, but if more people are using the dark side it dilutes and does get weaker. Its why Lord Kaan's Brotherhood of Darkness was so weak at the end of the day despite holding all the cards against the Jedi and Republic.

It’s fire because of how strong it grows the more it’s passed to, but it is also venom when your emotions run so hot all you see is vengeance and hatred, therefore it clouds your judgment proving the force is a toxic power. If we combine both teachings of Luke and Bane, I am of the opinion that a more balanced force wielder would be born. One who knows both paths to the force but is tempered in their convictions

I see that both Bane and Luke were mere opposites about their views of the force, but Bane stumbled upon something that still gives Luke’s point a bonus about it being a flame rather than a venom from a certain point of view. When Bane instituted the Rule of Two he kept the philosophy of venom with a Master holding the power and the Apprentice needing to crave it, but in a way he did “fan the flames” of the Sith to take control of the galaxy for as long as they did. Yes the Dark is more of a venom while Light is more of a flame, but Bane did start the flame of the Sith to take control of the Galaxy through the shadows all the way up to the Phantom Menace when it was Sidious’s time to rule as master. All the while being very similar to how the Jedi Order helps those to use and control their force powers and passes the knowledge off to their apprentices. Yoda himself being a prime example of teaching Jedi for 800 years before his death at 900.

Whether it's Dark or Light, the Force is ultimately the same due to the fact that the Force has been or will be manipulated, forced, mastered but never perfected by either the Jedi or Sith. I see the Force as an unending, infinite line drawn in opposite directions of the Jedi and Sith. No matter the Student or Teacher of past, present, or future, the Force lives on through everyone and everything. So, both Jedi and Sith experience the pain, happiness, pride, sorrow, gain, etc. to reach the pinnacle of both Sides, nevertheless.

I think it depends on which side of the force you subscribe to, the light side of the force craves unity it wants to be shared among its practitioners and as such grows stronger when more than a few are present. The dark side of the force on the other hand demands one to be selfish and greedy for power to an extreme thus it's significantly stronger when there are fewer users of the dark side in the galaxy, it being eventually diluted also goes a way in explaining how Luke defeated Sidious on the 2nd Death Star as no Sith in canon had practiced and immersed themselves in the dark side for nearly half as long as Palpatine, this is why I believe the Rule of Two dictates conflict between the two Sith as if venom is allowed to sit and be complacent for too long it naturally becomes weaker and less potent.

I like Darth Bane's analogies for The Dark Side Of The Force and the existence of The Sith. I would say that the likening to a fire or a venom both work, from whatever spectrum the Force-user is aligned. With Luke's mindset, and evaluation of Bane, I wonder how he felt about the likes of Sith Cults, esp. the ones that supported the legacy and power of Lord Darth Vader (The Acolytes Of The Beyond, The Alazmec Of Winsit)? That kind of worship and Dark Side Alchemy would certainly constitute as a kind of poison or venom remaining within the galaxy. Thank you and May The Force Be With You.

The only thing I think Bane was undeniably wrong about is that the Dark Side is finite, and would be diluted amongst thousands of Sith. There were thousands of Sith living on Kesh during the entirety of the Rule of Two, and it did not hinder Bane's Sith from drawing on the Force at all.

Bane‘s doctrine didn‘t say „if there are more than two Sith, the Sith cannot draw from the force“. It said, „the fewer Sith the better they’ll be able to draw on the force“. Bane greatly reduced the number of dark side users, which - according to venom-theory - concentrated the power in the survivors. The fact that there still dark side users Bane was unaware of does not contradict his theory. After all how do you know how big a percentage of anything you have if you don‘t know how much of that „anything“ there is? Bane‘s power increased significantly after he wiped the Sith order that trained him. But how would he know the difference between a much larger share of the dark side flowing through him and all of the dark side flowing through him?

I think Bane carried his view on the Sith to the Jedi, the Sith often were in fact stronger when there were fewer of them but that's because the sith in nature back stab and betray which when spread across the entire empire will always lead to it fracturing swiftly. Look at how many times they've been on the cusp of victory only to snatch it away from themselves because of their desire to be the one on top. Bane's philosophy was based on that nature and instead of changing it changed the Sith to use that nature to their advantage

The force is neither fire nor is it venom. The force is ocean. The shark must completely and absolutely place its will against the ocean. To always move forward or it will drown. Other fish can relax and flow with the currents of the ocean. This is the difference between the Jedi and the Sith. The Sith are powerful, but their power comes by placing themselves at opposition to the force itself. Using their will to make it comply with their wishes. The Jedi relinquish themselves to the force and go with the flow.

In my eyes, the Force is both fire AND venom. And here's why I think that. The Light Side of the Force is the light given off by a single spark. When a person taps into the Light Side, it grows into a flame with the user acting as a torch to carry that flame. And as a Jedi passes on the teachings of the Light Side onto their Padawan that flame is then passed onto another torch which causes the flame to spread and become a beacon that illuminates the darkness. The more Jedi there are, the more the flame spreads. And the more the flame spreads, the brighter the light glows. In contrast, the Dark Side is like poison to the user. Like venom being injected into a bite, it starts by taking root within the victim and spreads to corrupt and eventually destroy the user, hence the Dark Side Degradation that we see in Sith like Palpatine. Then, like a snake biting another animal, the master passes these teachings on to their apprentice who becomes poisoned by the Dark Side, and thus grows addicted to its power.

From what has been said in the first 6 movies and in other things involving the lore, the force is basically the magic in Star Wars. Both Sith and Jedi are basically a form of wizard and each force user that becomes one with the force ends up adding onto it. Pretty similar to the Spell Weave in Forgotten Realms. So I don't think the force is a fire or venom, but it is a living thing in the universe of Star Wars. It is a part of everything, even though only force sensitives are able to use it, weather that's for good or evil.

Fire is interesting. As it has to purposes depending on use. It can be use to burn and destroy. But it can also be used for wormpth. We see fire used in controled burns situations but like its nature fire can get away from even those whom have experiance. Like wise venom drainins is target. While a person can gain a small a amunity to it if taken in small quanity their is no question that it still destroys the target. In this way fire and venom are simular. I would posit that that the darkside is like venom. While you can gain emunity from the effects for while it will eventualy destroy. While I would fire for the light side/ Jedi. Always have to walk the line of blance. Does the fire help keep you warm and bring light or does consume you. Just some thoughts.

Luke's explanation for how the force is actually like fire was kinda dumb, but better for the story ultimately. Because, honestly, all you'd have to do is look at the fact that if what Bane believes about the force is true, then Palpatine ultimately would have been relatively as strong as (if not stronger) than the entirety of all light side users, by himself. Yoda would have never even come close to standing in battle against him. No one and no thing would. If what Bane believes about the the benefits of rule of two were true, then the Sith who ultimately rises to the top would be like fkn Goku. Goku up against a bunch of 'diluted' Krillens and Yamchas.

Luke and Bane are like any internet debate. They're using the same words, but not discussing the same thing. Hence why they argue. The LIGHT SIDE is fire. It is the herd, co-operative and stronger as a group. The DARK SIDE is venom. It is the snake, the predator that strikes from the shadows, using surprise and fear to scatter their prey and isolate the weak. The same goes for lightsaber combat. What Bane trained for was more or less force oneness (or Star Wars Ultra Instinct). No thought, no technique, no hesitation. Let the force control your body to do what it needs to while your mind is free to focus on the bigger picture. All that said I think Luke in the book of sith is Luke recovering from being Sideous' apprentice and deprogramming himself, not Luke post Caedus or Abeloth. He has yet to see turning to the dark side as a sacrifice, yet to see the ends justifying the means. It is a common misconception of the jedi that the dark side is all about power. Bane knew it was not. The dark side is all about the goal, what you NEED the power to attain. Luke would come to understand that in making peace with Jacen Solo's fate and even do it himself when confronting Abeloth. He just found a different power than Bane...the other side of the same coin.

I see merits in both philosophies. Bane was right, in a manner of speaking, that The Force was like Venom. But only as it pertains to The Dark Side. The potentcy of The Dark Side and it's corruption is naturally more powerful the fewer who possess it. Thus why The Rule of Two lead to Sidius. However, The Light Side is the natural state of The Force. Luke recognizes the folly of The Sith in this regard. The Force doesn't belong to any one person and, by sharing in its knowledge and power, those who follow The Will of The Force make life better for the entier Galaxy rather than just themselves. The Zeffo comparing The Force to Wind is a more accurate analogy in my opinion. Since Wind is passive, flows around everything it touches, and can destroy everything in its path if focused in the wrong way.

Please do an explanation of (1) what fighting form Luke used against Vader in Cloud City and if he made any adaption to it when he fought Vader on the Death Star, (2) Did Yoda teach Luke this fighting form? (3) How close was Luke to tapping into the dark side when fighting Vader on the Death Star, especially as Vader discovers there's another Skywalker (4) Was Vader/Anakin moved at all to learn he had a daughter? All of your questions have been answered in previous videos. 1 Luke used form 5, Djem So, just like Anakin. 2 Kenobi trained Luke in the basics more than Yoda. Yoda nurtured Luke's connection to the force. Luke later learned more from Jedi texts and holocrons.

3 Luke did lose control briefly and began to tap into the dark side. That is actually how he overpowered Vader. Seeing Vaders mechanical parts and his own hand helped him reel it in and abandon the darkness. 4 Vader was surprised to have twins, but was more interested in Luke.

I think it is both fire and venom. The Force is the universal energy that flows though everything. If used by people like Luke, good hearted, believing in compassion, kindness, and a sense of family, the light spreads and a fire erupts giving strength to those who look upon it. For the dark side it is venom, besides the obvious reason when using too much it turns you into something that looks like death. Though using the dark side of the Force can poison someone, if used too frequently. The Force is always in balance there is both light and darkness that keep it in balance, and if one grows stronger than the other everything becomes unbalanced. For every light, there is a shadow, though I believe that the light should be stronger than the shadow or death would ensue across the universe. Though the practice and learning of the dark side isn't inherently evil. The fact is that if one uses it non-stop then the force turns into venom and corrupts and poisons the one using it. Just like if one focuses too much on the Light, they become blind to the darkness, and don't know what to do when they actually come face to face with it. Though in truth, the Force is everything, and has a will of its own, keeping checks and balances throughout the universe, so in short Fire and Venom are perfect aspects of the Force, plus, it also depends on the user and their history.

I don't believe Luke hates anyone hates leads to suffering . Suffering leads to the Darkside. He probably dislikes him but no hate is too strong a word.
