Thankyou for demonstrating that the very cheapest palm routers are actually quite ok. There are so many tool snobs who wont even look at budget priced tools. I have a work shop full of cheap tools and manage to make lots of furniture for my house without any problems. If a cheap power tools fails just buy another one it wont break the bank.

This is the first video posted by you that I have seen. I like the very clear, easy to understand presentation. Unlike many other woodwork project videos, the viewer doesn't need a workshop with table saw, bandsaw, welding gear, angle grinders, large drill press etc. etc....those videos would put off a beginner, whereas yours encourages one to think 'yeah, let's have a go! I like the way you explained (and even demonstrated) common snags along the way! The only thing I would add is the provision of (even just a clamp on) fence for the simple router table. I'm sure I'll need that to produce nice even and straight results. Thanks!

Hello Suj, trimmer; A very good replica of the Makita handheld router. It can be used for hobby work. Smoke at 07:09 and a burnt router tip at the end :-) These tips are for hobby use. Because I use the same tips. I had experienced similar situation. I love the rotating workbench. The cactus pot box was also nice. The square coasters were also nice. nice on both devices but Trimmer seems better. Thank you for the introduction and detailed information. you made a good comparison. Thank you for sharing. @SujMenon
@SujMenon 2 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful! And good that you bought the topic about the height of the bit in the router. I completely missed that, haha. I usually put around 75% of the shank of the router bit inside the collet. I believe anything over 50% is good. The key thing as you already know, is to make sure that the collet has sufficient grip on the shank of the router bit.

Thanks for watching 👍. I sense there is a question in there about the router bit that you used to make your canvas stretcher bar, but unfortunately, I don't know about those. I assume you may need a dedicated/specific bit to cut out that corner profile, and you might need a 45 degree router table sled as well. Sorry couldn't be of anymore help!

Great video! I bought a small hand router a lot like the one featured in your video, and this gives me great examples of what I can do with it. I just DIY for the sake of home improvement so it is great to see a good beginner video with plenty of ideas I can make use of. Keep up the great work!

This was very helpful as I've never used a mini router. I just bought a "Modern" brand profile trimmer (model M2700 440 watts /3000 rpm) here in Indonesia. It seems to be fairly sturdy and has the same accessories as the first trimmer in your video, however i had to buy the set if bits separately. No bits were included with the trimmer which I found a bit odd but apparently that's the way it's marketed. Subscribed 🙏

Glad it helped. Yes, the bits are NOT generally included, unless they say so.

I seen quit a few of these videos and everyone doesn't give it a chance and they count it out and really using it improper and pretty much portray it as crap. But you used it good and had pretty good results cause you used it right . So thanks I might purchase one now.
