Why Uk cant make own attack helicopters ?😂
@chrisaskin61447 ай бұрын
@@shuttlespace04Britain could very likely design and build an attack 'copter - maybe even superior to the Apache. There has been instances of this in the past. However, two things usually get in the way: firstly the time frame, and secondly finances. The project more often than not starts to exceed the "in service" time and incurs vast cost overruns. The cherry on the cake is usually the lack of orders needed to make it financially viable because other countries would rather buy " the American one" (other countries may even be getting "leaned on" by the Americans to buy their's), so an order book of four to Oman and a provisional order of one to Ethiopia won't be enough to cut it. So eventually, having spent billions trying to bring it into service, the government will call time on it to cut their losses. The Americans will then take it over and end up selling the finished article back to us, and take all the kudos for it.

As for your comment about aspiring youth, let me point out that all the Apache helicopters are maintained and serviced by British service personnel, as I briefly considered being an aircraft technician in the British Army when the Apache's were first brought into service. I'm pretty sure that British talent is involved in the design of the new Apache as it holds a lot of our technology, in the same way that the Japanese involvement in the Tempest program, will see the Japanese add their own technology to their versions of Tempest.
