yay glad to hear that it was not damaged at least you got a entertaining video out of the other one!

So true! That one screw head that was stuck between the first fan's grille wires was so bizzare and hilarious. Good thing the second time was the charm though. I probably would have been really bummed out if the second fan was also damaged lol.

Alright part 2! This was definitely an improvement from last time. I hope you can fix the bearing noise soon and hopefully make a video.
@TheSuperFanMan2 жыл бұрын
Yes it definitely was a better experience! I think the bearing noise was the bearings needing to break in a bit. I ran the fan for about 5 minutes after this video and the bearing noise subsided. But I do plan on opening up the motor to oil it myself so I'll try to get that on video!

Correct. Unfortunately appliances nowadays are simply not built to last. It’s planned obsolescence at its finest. Pretty much all new fans I’ve bought needed oil right out of the box.
@TheSuperFanMan2 жыл бұрын
Yeah those are good examples. I’ve also seen many lol.

@Alexthefancollector Walker yeah had something like that, got a 2016 fine element pedestal fan from the trash and it had locked up bearings after only 6 years!

I suggest you to wrote this in description box regarding Westinghouse (or White-Westinghouse) fans you uploaded. For your information, Westinghouse Appliances Division was acquired by White Consolidated Industries in 1975, which became a White-Westinghouse, which turned to the Electrolux since 1986. Then, from 1976 until 2005, White-Westinghouse was used by all electric fans in all markets including the ceiling fans. However after that it was reverted back to the Westinghouse only on electric fans until today since Electrolux didn't want to sell the fan using their own brand. Although it is being reverted, that doesn't mean White-Westinghouse are completely gone. The electric fans are sold in 2 brands, White-Westinghouse or Westinghouse only. I hope this helps.

Neat, that's good information! It's a lot to fit into the description box but I'm sure people will scroll down and read your comment.

BEST. TITLE. EVER. also cool not broken fan
@TheSuperFanMan2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah it was great that this one was not damaged. The screws on the new one seems pretty sturdy too. The first fan must have either taken a massive fall or had defective, poorly made screws.

Good Video SuperFanMan pretty powerful for what it is and the Capacitor that it has a faint startup Sound I did hear decent enough blade pitched kind of reminds of me of my black and dealer 18 I use to have years ago but unfortunately I sold it and it's been gone. Many freak shows near the end of the video lol I definitely enjoyed the video and thanks for the shoutout on the startup sound
@TheSuperFanMan2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Lemont! Glad you liked the start-up sound, I wasn't sure how well my phone would pick up the sound, but I guess it was pretty decent. The interesting thing is that the Canadian Walmart stores have an 18" version of this fan that looks exactly like your Black and Decker fan, but just with the Westinghouse name. It also seems like a decent fan but it was a bit out of my price range. I don't blame you for selling the Black and Decker; sometimes we collectors just have to do that to keep the collection from getting too big lol. I've sold quite a few of my fans in the past too.

@@TheSuperFanMan Your welcome and true i use to do that back in my early days of collecting sell them but haven't done it since lol maybe one of these day i will but for now i am content with the fans i do have. You Should the iLiving fan that me and Jordan U have the silver one it has a startup sound and the motor has oil ports
@TheSuperFanMan2 жыл бұрын
I've considered it, but it's also a bit too expensive lol. Perhaps in the future I'll re-think about getting the iLiving fan. It does seem like a great fan.
@LemontTheFanMan2 жыл бұрын
@@TheSuperFanMan make sense it cost me almost 100$ on Amazon lol super expensive but worth it and you also in the future might want to consider the TPI 18" industrial high velocity fan that me and jordan have also with oil ports but again super duper expensive lol
@TheSuperFanMan2 жыл бұрын
The TPI fans definitely are on my want list, but yeah the prices are too high for my budget lol. Do the most recent versions also have oil ports? I saw that TPI has been going back and forth recently between motors with and without ports.

How do I take apart the 2 parts to clean the fan ?
@TheSuperFanMan Жыл бұрын
There are 4 screws around the circumference of the grilles. Removing them will allow you to separate the front grille from the rest of the fan, and give you access to the blades and motor for cleaning. Hope it helps!

Good luck trying to oil the bearings, because they are sealed.
@TheSuperFanMan Жыл бұрын
The bearings can be accessed for oiling when the motor is disassembled.

Maybe they should put the sticker on the badge instead of the blade

That’s certainly another option, but it would probably block the logo.

@TheSuperFanMan2 жыл бұрын
Oh yes absolutely. Seeing all of the unthinkably wild trends being attempted by kids on tiktok and social media, I can see why they thought it was necessary to put the sticker there lol! Kids in the early 1900s must have had more common sense, knowing fans back then hardly had grilles.
