Man, the fact that Two Notes actively comment on videos about their gear is one the biggest pluses for me. Their customer service has been nothing but top notch in my experience. Up there with Sweetwater for sure. I'm a new Two Notes user, only last year got the Captor X, and got a lisence for Genome for owning a piece of gear! Two Notes has won me over in less than 7 months. I'm currently experimenting at home with different configurations for using it live, and this was one of the things I wanted to try. Fan for life. Awesome video! Thanks for confirming my thoughts! +1

I like Genome. It’s just enough without getting lost in endless twiddling. I use it with my JMP-1 preamp too. I run a non speaker emulated out from the JMP to the PC and then use Genome to apply an IR and effects.
@henriksorensen64386 ай бұрын
Hi interesting😊 do you then use the power Amp sim in genome as the jmp 1 is a preamp? Cheers
@lostinpa-dadenduro75556 ай бұрын
@@henriksorensen6438 Yep that’s what I’ve been doing. JMP-1 or a REVV G3 pedal into computer interface. Genome is added to the track with their power amp sim and an IR. Plus whatever other Genome effects are desired.

@@henriksorensen6438 Yep it comes out sounding good. The JMP-1 also has its own cabinet emulated outs which sound cool. I like for the preamp / distortion part of what I’m doing to be something physical, then I use the professional IRs to accomplish the studio micing I can’t do here.

Hi Ross! I have a question. I have Wall of Sound and I used it because it also has power amp simulation. Can I use Genome to simulate a power amp section? I have preamps from you guys (Revolt Bass) and a Soldano tube rack preamp (SP77) that I would like to record with using Logic. Thanks in advance

@@zionburner Thanks for getting in touch. You most certainly can - there is a PowerAmp Component in GENOME that can be added to the signal chain wherever you need it! Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!

Another idea using a Pedal or Amp preamp running into genome and using power amp sim in genome and dynir and effects etc. Cheers😊

I've recently got the Captor X and am still figuring stuff out. Stereo sounds great practicing through headphones, but for recording I only have one input on my interface so the mono sounds a bit weak in comparison. Am I best just running the direct amp signal with no cab sim into my interface, then adding the cam sim etc in Genome? (I've installed it into my Studio One DAW, but haven't tried playing with it yet). Or is it worth investing in a bigger interface and a second cable?
@TSFAHTPS4 ай бұрын
You could definitely try and run a dry signal into your computer and then use Genome - it’ll definitely fatten things up! Make sure to set the Captor to mono too…I know you can configure the output of the CaptorX so one side gets the Cab Simulation and the other side stays dry…that could be a good way to quickly compare the two sounds by just changing over the cables and turning Genome on and off on your computer! I think as long as you can get a sound you like using the gear you have then there is no need for a new interface…that’s just my opinion anyways! If you want to plug things in in stereo then maybe an interface with all latest two inputs would come in handy…but I’d say you should get a good enough sound out of it in mono…all our stuff on this channel - unless it’s specifically specified - is always mono going in to the computer and then processed in stereo with a plugin!! Hope that made sense?!?

@@TSFAHTPS I've done some fiddling about and got it sorted. I ran the cable from the Captor X right hand output (set to bypass so it's just the harsh dry signal, like you're using with your Captor) and recorded a sample. It was sounding pretty good with a genome cab and reverb on the track, but then I spotted a setting on the track called channel mode (two circles in Studio One) and changed it to being stereo instead of mono. Even though it's just a mono input through one channel, the effects in Genome are playing in stereo now (I put a 'ping pong' delay on to be sure, and you hear it panning left to right).Once you're in stereo it sounds way better! I think this is the best way to record, it means that you can tweak the settings and do more with the sound than you can if you make all the settings beforehand in Torpedo Remote.

Great video!! But I wish you showed how you get your signal. I’m using my torpedo captor and i’d like to use dual cabs in genome, but I can’t make it work, I only get one processed signal through the cabs, the other cab is not. How do I make it work? Hope that made sense. I’m also using logic. Thanks!
@TSFAHTPS4 ай бұрын
You should just be able to bypass the cab sim/DynIR section of the Captor and just run the amps dry signal! On my Torpedo Live I can just bypass everything and I’m pretty sure you can do that on the Captor too…is it the Captor X you are using?

@@TSFAHTPS thanks for the reply!! The issue was with Logic, I guess the latest Logic update didn’t fix everything. I had to start a new project for genome to work properly. Thanks!
