There is a pretty big difference between people telling you who to vote for/misinforming you, and literally just faking the concept of democracy. Its like saying Denmark and North Korea are the same because they both label themselves as democracies on paper. Yes, we live in a age of corruption and misinformation, but that doesnt mean democracy doesnt work or have a reason for existing. Democracy is meant to inherently give The People decision making power. Some nations know how appealing that is and will advertise themselves as democratic but not actually practice democracy because it comes in conflict with state/corporate/religious reasons. Helldivers is literally meant to satirize that about how tyrannical goverments use democracy as a buzzword to promote wars.
