Definitely right to get the bull. I found it took a lot of watching to get it right for AI. I just wondered how often the electric fence got in the way of the swash buckling knife. Do you need to get rid of the lambs with sore feet if it is just scald? Years ago some of us vaccinated for blue tongue others didn’t, there was no carry over the following year that time. There is always something we have no control over.

Chris just vaccinate them against footrot. Saves you a lot of time. It's not listed for scald but mine haven't had any since I've been vaccinating them.

Do you know about checking Famacha scores to monitor Haemonchus? We have a ton of it over here in the States, though it sounds like it isn't nearly so common over there. They are horrendous parasites and develop resistance to dewormers fairly quickly.

How often do you go to cut the limbs and end up slicing through the fence wire? I'd reckon I'd have about a 25% wire to limb ratio myself if I tried that?

To organize those fencing supplies, get a couple of barrels to put all those posts/pickets. (I can't remember what you call them.) And with you breaking your tripod and your drone wasn't working, that is my life as well. When things go wrong, it not just one thing. It's usually several.

Lol - knots - my life changed the day it occurred to me that I could use knots learned as a teenager on a school sailing camp and save hours every week A proper reef knot and bow line? will come undone far more easily than the half arsed things I'd been using for years plus I had far fewer tethered goats untying themselves (note- tethered goats need to be watched 110% of the time)

Equine quick release knots have stood me in good stead over the years along with a smattering of sailors knots.

You were complaining about everything being bad - but then again - you got a huge dump of luck there getting rid of the lambs before the bluetongue restrictions :) I don't blame you there for getting a bull - with everything going on in your life just now - a bull is going to be easier - and you've got time to fix things there for next year. AI works easy enough and is simple enough to run - and after the first calving and putting some time into them to get them used to things around their backends - it does make it a bit easier :) Looking forward to the video of your new job :)
