I've heard that people regret the pot fillers above the stove, especially when it's paired with an expensive stone backsplash. Any plumbing issues with it would then require ripping out the stone/tile backsplash and it becomes an extremely expensive proposition.

Yes, I’ve heard the same thing! They are beautiful and so “elevated” looking, but, honestly how much do we eat a huge pasta dinner or boil lobster?? Plus you still have to pick up the pot and move to the sink--

I actually loved my beautiful large bathroom, and I used the large bath almost daily. I do agree about the jets. The jets get filthy.

@@kristivice5537 I am frankly with you I am definitely a bathtub girl… However, I seem to be almost in the minority, but I suggest every home have at least one bath tub, for children and people like you and Me who like baths!!

When i and my late husband owned our own real estate company, the one thing i knew would come back to eventually haunt the homeowner was converting the garage into a family room. I personally hated the look.

I never lose the remote for the TV 😂 I agree about the flooring- it was hardwood in the new construction open concept house that I bought, even in the kitchen, powder room and bedrooms. Tile in the upstairs bathrooms. Use area rugs for living and sleeping areas. BTW, I visited Cheekwood when I lived in Nashville when they had the Downton Abbey exhibit. It was amazing!

I love Cheekwood!! Such gorgeous property and wonderful seasonal events!! Oh and, as we “speak” I have lost the remote and I haven’t even had the tv on in days 🥴🥴 must’ve evaporated

Open shelving has the same problems in restaurants as well.

Oh gosh!! I can only imagine how great it will all be in a busy kitchen restaurant🤢🥴

Really good advice. I wasted soo much time and money on failed landscaping. We also have the horrible bath tub you mentioned. Lastly what we thought would be just resurfacing the pool ended up way too much $$$. That said its beautiful and makes summers more enjoyable.

I’m sorry you had so many problems after you purchased but happy you now love your beautiful pool!

Literally in the chaos of converting the garage into livable space now. It’s an older home. 1 year and 3 contractors later… I would have just bought new construction.

Oh gee, I am so sorry to hear that! It seems as if there should be all kinds of space in the garage to make a fabulous room, but it is very tricky! Where are you located? What kind of room are you creating? I hope you’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

The only things you need in a outdoor kitchen is a table, a grill and a sink :P
@LivingInNashvilleTennessee14 ай бұрын
Those outdoor kitchens can certainly get very flamboyant!

@@LivingInNashvilleTennessee1 Yup. And as a note, if you got tiles in your kitchen you can easy clean the grout with a steam mop. It takes just a few minutes and the grout doesn't get damaged.

I recently toured a $5M home with an outdoor kitchen that had the fancy grill, undercounted fridge, and custom stainless cabinetry, but no sink. I agree with you. Just put in the grill and the sink, and if it's protected space, add some outlets.

If you’re already a daily bath taker, do it. If you’re an occasional bath taker, she might have a point. Agree on jets. Impossible to keep clean.
@LivingInNashvilleTennessee14 ай бұрын
@@Fuzzmom903 funny you say that; I am a bath taker and definately think at least 1 bathtub should be in a house. It is just the huge jetted tubs that are problematic. Thank you for watching and your thoughts!

Ive never taken a bath before except when i was a kid/baby. I guess ill have to try to incorporate one into my floorplans but its almost impossible to have the space for one. I usually plan an outdoor hottub as it seems more ideal but would you say you still need the bathtub? Definitely good if you have kids but if building new i probably would leave it out, so costly. Exactly-- carpet here only on the secondary bedrooms, upstairs hallways and playroom below a certain price point but very rarely does anyone prefer carpet.

In Texas, better not enclose the garage. Texans insist on their garages.

I live in Florida and lots of people are moving down from other states and ALL they want are swimming pools. So if your house doesn’t have one, guess what?! It ain’t selling! I’m so sick and tired of hearing about how we can’t buy your house because it doesn’t have a pool and/or cage (screen). Especially here in N Florida, come October to April you don’t use it unless you heat it and then if you do you figure out how expensive it is so you don’t use it. Sorry. My rant
@LivingInNashvilleTennessee13 ай бұрын
I’m so sorry you’re having trouble there and although I don’t know where there is in Florida certainly praying for you and everyone in the state for safety over the next week. But absolutely you are correct. Every area is different so there is no blanket rule for everywhere, which is why you need an expert in your area.!!
@Toni_Snark3 ай бұрын
I’m on the Texas Gulf coast and you can use a pool here from April/May through November. Just because you’re sick and tired of hearing it doesn’t change what people want. You need to make the rest of your house so great that they want to buy it and can put in their own pool.
