can't wait to try the crab salad. Been following your videos for a month now and have really come to enjoy making it. We don't have a good sushi place where i live, so your channel has worked wonderfully! Thank you!

I did sushi today first time after watching and I subbed. My biggest issues were not having a sharp enough knife and for the life of me I could not get the plastic wrap to stay on the makisu.

A sharp knife is very important for sure. If you're looking to invest in a new knife, be sure to watch this video first: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3mum6CNbsZ6rLc. If your plastic wrap isn't wide enough for the makisu, which might be the reason why it's not staying on there. You can wrap half of it and then the other half, overlapping the plastic parts. Hope that helps!

The crab salad roll is great! And you can always swap or substitute different ingredients to your liking.

@@TheSushiMan I’d probably put that imitation crab and crawfish and maybe some shrimp on top with alittle spicy salmon to make a spicy seafood salad roll

Great tutorial, I like sushi very much! I only think that Mayonaise is gross and is not really for sushi. As a Dutch person we eat fries with mayonaise and like they say we drown em in mayonaise, the combination mayonaise and rice is really gross to me...Since rice is cooked in water and it is kind of a raw type of food....like puting mayonaise on raw potatoes....Can anyone tell me when Japanse started using mayonainse on sushi? I know that the people of Norway put Japanse on to using Salmon for their sushi, and that is not even so long ago... I though mayonaise on sushi was something Dutch sushi restaurants did 15 years ago, but I see it everywhere now.

Glad you enjoyed the video! Mayonnaise wasn't used traditionally in sushi but it has been for a very long time now, even longer in other Japanese cuisine. However, Japanese mayo is different than other mayos (at least American). It's a lot richer and creamier because it's made with only the egg yolks.

@@TheSushiMan Yes but for how long? I am Dutch we have the most creamy mayo on the world as far as I know, Try this one if you can get a hold of it it is called '' Zaanse Mayonaise'' with an orange lid. Happy new year in advance!
