Call of Duty's Anti Cheat Is FAILING In Warzone

Call of Duty Warzone's Ricochet anti cheat is starting to fail in Urzikstan. Today I talk about the influx of cheaters in the new call of duty Warzone and what Activision can do to tackle the amount of hackers in their game.

Its streamer mate - there is to much money to be made and to get the views you need the skills bought or built over time. To many streamers need daily content and cheating is the way ahead for them - Streamer need to to licensed so they can not make any money until they have the license if they cheat it gets revoked - no more streaming career. ( its hard but every gamer who pays for a game is effected by cheaters)

You right . I'm a M&K player. I dropped from 1.7 kd to .9 kd over Christmas and since then my lobs are full of jumping sliding never-missing demons with Interstellar camo. I will definitely prefer to have third-party anti-cheat software installed on my PC and be sure that there is no cheater in the game than to constantly think about whether I died because of my incompetence or because someone has cronus or even a full cheat pack.

Hate to break it to ya but console/controller players are having the exact same issues. M&k players seem to think that every disadvantage is only stacked against them. I'm on console with controller and every single mp match and wz match is full of the drop shotting/jump shotting, never missing demons that you are having problems with. The entire game is about dead because of this shit. And that goes for every body, on every device playing the game, not just m&k...

You guys need to catch up, these dma cheat cards are completely undetectable to any anti cheat on planet. Only way to stop cheaters is stop pc gamers playing with console. If you game on pc then unfortunately your included in the problem category. Competition gaming on pc is over now these cheat cards have been brought to attention. As a console controller player, I can honestly say I have seen quite a bit of obvious cheating in warzone. Every time it’s so disheartening and just makes me wanna scream WTF is the point in playing this anymore and trying to get better if the playing field isn’t fair! Let’s say it’s one in three games that you play that has a hacker in it that means 1/3 of your entire time playing for a win is just waste of time all because certain people just love that feeling of having a one up on everyone else. I've wondered if providing separate playgroups for people who actually own the game, vs free accounts, as most of the cheaters are free accounts. Yeah I got a two week chat ban while in closed party chat in the audio settings, so nobody else could hear me, I jokingly called him a knob for not giving me cash to get us a loadout. 20 seconds later I had a warning. I told him a he called me a dickhead as a joke and maybe 2 minutes later he was kicked from Ashika Trios and he then had a chat ban too. This game is just like a controlling and abusive partner lmao.

I am someone who has been a PC gamer for 30 years. Multiplayer and now crossplay are pretty much the biggest (non-technical) achievements in gaming and its social and competitive aspects. In addition to the different approaches to anti-cheat software solutions and their advantages and disadvantages, I have always asked myself when we will finally be protected by law as users and consumers in online spheres and when laws and possible sanctions and penalties will also be applied in this cosmos: I would voluntarily link my online persona (protected by data law) with my regular ID card. If this were to be made mandatory, then, in addition to the romantic idea of real hardware ID flags&bans, we would actually have built a bridge to a model that protects entire communities and individual gamers from cheaters, as such a system would not allow a backdoor - across games and platforms.

Ran into a hacker not that long ago (while a couple friends and I were just messing around on plunder) who was literally live streaming his cheats while promoting the hacks he was using on KZbin. Was so damn easy to see, and neither KZbin or COD has done anything about it for a ridiculously long time. Some of his streams even have the cheat overlay UP AND VISIBLE. Oh, and he had an obviously bot-fed stream with “3000 viewers” but not a single person talking in the chat besides a couple coming in from the game to call him out for cheating. Both KZbin and COD really need to work on this stuff, because it is insane that someone can even do that.

I am controller player on xbox, and I run into cheaters steady. I find it painfully obvious when a player has walls. I find walls is the hardest hack to face, you can tell when they run you down. How they shoot you out of where you are looking and you never see them. They will coordinate with their team and make a perfectly timed up your ass sandwich. And then when you spectate them, they always have their nose buried in a wall or crate.

Thank you for pointing this out and making a video on this issue. The amount of cheaters I have run into is pretty high.. I’m in the west region of the US and so are all my buddies I play with. I’m a 1.10 KD player on xbox controller. I play with 9 buddies consistently. Only 2 of them are on mouse and keyboard. The other 4 are on PC controller. The other 3 Xbox. We rotate playing in groups of 4 sometime 3 just depends on who’s on.. The highest KD of my friends group is 4.20 the next up is 3.70 then it goes down from there for the rest of the group. Only 2 of the 9 are really high KD players the rest of us are in the 1.00-2.50 KD. So with that being said we run into cheaters on a daily bases every game or every other game, it’s extremely frustrating.. We have tried having all of us host at separate times to see if the host lobby matters and honestly it did not. I believe once you start getting wins in Duos, Trios, and Quads you then are being pushed into these sweaty lobbies with cheaters. Me and my buddies have spectated players after we notice them cheating. When your getting head shotted with every shot and then they track you through the map constantly it’s not hard not to notice a cheater.. So we spectate the player and if we noticed questionable behavior we report them. Most of the time they get kicked immediately during the game and that’s how we know they were cheating, but at times they do not and we’ll that’s all we can do.. Anyways I hope they can figure this issue out, but until COD completely decides to ban the streamers they support for cheating honestly I don’t see it changing..

I think that (unfortunately) the only effective way to combat cheaters is to put a price tag on Warzone. If a cheater had to pay 10-15$ each time after getting banned then a majority would stop.

Only downside is the people with rewasd, so trading CH lobbies to rewasd. But that is way better than if playing MK with blatant cheaters. Haven’t seen low ping servers since mw 2019. There must be a way to make an anti cheat more robust without compromising personal security and impacting performance? I think the issue is more, the cost involved to do it and having a barrier to entry - versus the benefits to the shareholders. They could stop all cheating tomorrow by charging a deposit of £500 that you get back whenever you want but can no longer play the game, but the point is you have to put a credit card number in and commit a lot of money obviously they will never do it but it would instantly stop all the cheating and spoof accounts!

They did do the credit card thing before, from the original MW2 to AW I only saw 3 cheaters because of the 60$ entrance fee. This small thing alone was enough to make cheaters burn through their money. Throw on DLC and their separate lobbies and cheaters would get a few matches before losing it all. F2P is optimal for cheaters as they can infinitely make new accounts and find a way to cheat.

I honestly wish they’d have a theater mode. My friends and I are no gods but we’re all between 1 and 2kd, can only play peak times due to work/family stuff, and it’s like every 2-3 games there’s something odd. No recoil beams from distances there should be misses, ADS exactly where we are tracking through walls (but we could be on radar or uav or spotted, game just doesn’t tell us). I know we can spectate rest of round but unless someone is rage hacking they’ll play different if someone is watching. Plus spending limited time you have not playing isn’t ideal. I’d rather be able to go back and watch the round later

It would unfortunately, I had thought about doing this because I am mnk and my old pc wasn't even strong enough to run warzone 2, and just plugging in a knm into it gives input matchmaking and puts you into PC lobbies as if you were on a PC. But the input lag was too much and I just upgraded my PC to be able to play the actually fun warzone 3.

I am in NA and I often play with my friend in Korea. and unfortunately often times it will put us in Chinese server and it's horrendous. the entire server is basically who can use cheats better. Comm is disabled and chat is disabled. Activision fully aware of what's going on in that region but they aren't gonna do anything about it as long as they can put those Chinese players on their number crunch to look good on the financial sheet.

the more money you spend in the cod store, the easier your lobbies get. I tested this with my friends over several days. 2 groups of friends with both groups having about a 3+kd. On days where group 1 buys store items, we play 12 games and win about 10 of the games. When the other group plays and has bought nothing, they get put into harder lobbies, after 12 games, they win about 4-5 games. We did this for about 10 days, so 5 times for each group and the results were very similar each time. Buy stuff = win more but idk how that makes sense :/

Just a heads up as you mentioned it multiple times, but when you say a player gets live banned it isn’t them actually getting banned, only shadow banned. I’ve been shadow banned 22 times and when I get kicked it says says “Ricochet” or “kicked” but I dont cheat and have to wait a week to play again. Unfortunately for actual cheaters this is the same.

SBMM is at the point I'm just giving up on this game I don't have time to come and play this game to try to enjoy for sbmm to make it feel like I'm playing a cdl championship match its a joke. Cheaters will always be an issue but this game is failing period. Sbmm itself already made players leave the game

As of lately it's been crazy on the East Coast in the U.S where I'm from. Game has pretty much become unplayable getting shots through buildings and I know i ran into 3 cheaters that I know of. I stop playing for about 3 weeks now but doesn't matter if they lose me. Even in multiplayer cheaters are ingesting it

I love Call of Duty and I especially love Warzone, have for years. I mean call of duty is the only game that I play really. However the cheating/hacking is absolutely unbearable to be quite honest. I know I’m not a great player, but the fact that I really believe that a good majority of my deaths come from these hacking makes me not even want to play really. I mean it is almost impossible for me to feel competitive with everyone seemingly knowing where I am all the time and their picture perfect headshots coming time after time. I really hope it gets fixed but i honestly believe that they do not care. I hope I’m wrong because I really enjoy warzone.

Devs take note...... 100% spot on mate. As a viewer of not only just your content but just about everyone who you play or have played with, something needs to be done and fast. You'd think advertising in game chat should be picked up straight away and they'd band. But i think your comment the other night was right to. Releasing teir 1 titles over the Christmass period when there short stalfed could be looked at. They wont though.

A kernel 0 anti cheat feels like the only real answer now. 1 to fix the actual cheating problem and 2 to hopefully stop the “mass reporting = shadow ban” issue. I switched to PC in December and it’s a shame that I have to question my investment to switch platform because of false shadow bans

@@tsuyax6054 ringo 0 means nothing when the anti cheat isnt even working. cod could have ring -9999999 and it would still be full of cheaters because the anti cheat itself is trash at detecting the cheats and this means no matter whar privileges they get it will not matter unless they actually add detection vectors to the anti cheat

Thanks for this information. I agree we should have an updated anti cheat software. If people don't want to have a kernal zero anti cheat it would be great for the option to opt in or out explaining exactly what you've said in this video. I would jump at installing level zero anti cheat. Those that opt out may continue to feel the pain of cheaters/current state the games in

I play on a rig that is specific for gaming. I don't do any personal computing on it, just gaming. All my personal computing is done on a Mac. I would welcome a kernel 0 ant-cheat because I am specifically a M&K player. And even though I'm not all that good, I do find myself shoved into these more difficult lobbies due to my M&K preference. I'm not sure why Activision isn't doing more on the legal front to go after the cheat makers but they certainly need to up their game when it comes to combating them in Warzone.

I think the issue for the kernel level anti cheat is liability. They don’t want the risk of their software being compromised and that spreading to the game clients. People say they care about privacy but their actions tell a different story.

there are varying levels of kernel level ac, those that starts at launch of game and the other like valo where its on pc start up regardless of kernel level, if the anticheat is crap, it doesnt matter if its kernel level or not look at games like apex, easyanticheat is kernel level but look at the number of cheaters there too and even if its on startup like vanguard, while there are workarounds (if you truely want to cheat, theres no anticheat in the world that can stop it) but valo does curb the "average cheater" from cheating advocate for an anticheat that actually works rather than a blanket term like kernel level because alot of useless ac already are kernel level

theres also the other side of this, I've just been banned for absolutely no reason. Never use offensive text chat, never used cheats in my life but I got kicked and shadowbanned mid game when I was on 12 kills. Its really annoying

I’m US East but play on a northwest connection, seems like I’m running into far less cheaters around Seattle/Portland. They’re all too high to bother setting up the hacks 🤓
