I'm playing Crusader Kings 2 with AGOT mod and I got a game where the two houses unite. In it, Lyanna Stark survived childbirth but Rhaegar still died which brought her back to Winterfell and was not married to Robert. Jorah married her instead and their children inherited Winterfell eventually.

Before her, we had two people we could say by name, one head of the Night's Watch (a closed society), and the other traveling in another country because of banishment. Blackfish is awesome and Edmure has big flaws, but his concern for smallfolk isn't typical noble behaviour and is definetely something to be admired. As for House Arryn, not much of them was left at all which is a shame because we got stuck with Lysa Tully, Robin who in books is going to die anyway of sickness and Harry the Heir who is kind of a dick. In the show however Robin is more a victim of circumstance and bad upringing with crazy mother and Littlefinger. His first choice when told about trouble in the North was to save Sansa, so he's hardly the worst lord around, but someone should really beat the moon door throwing out of his head.

Seriously, no mention of Iceland or GREENLAND??? People keep mistaking GRR Martin solely based GoT & Westeros on War of the Roses and Great Britain, when in facts he combines the whole medieval European history and twisted them one by one. While the North is based on the whole Kalmar Union + Russian Empire, *Bear Island is based on Iceland and Greenland* . _Greenland even uses BEAR as their coat of arms_ , and until recently Iceland was still closely tied with Kingdom of Denmark.
