Is It Better GOURMET? (grocery vs local bakery showdown)

We purchased a MASSIVE amount of baked goods from a local gourmet bakery and their equivalents from popular grocery chains to see just how different they really are!
Our eyes still managing to be bigger than our stomachs had us facing 17+ pounds worth of sweet indulgences taking this side-by-side taste test into epic, high calorie food challenge territory.
Getting to experience a substantial Walmart dessert haul directly beside their fresh, local, gourmet counterparts in this mega-sized mukbang truly did shed light, and provide some helpful tips, into which Walmart treats are worth reaching for when shopping their bakery!

Q: How do you not gain weight?
A: Endurance sports (primarily running, cycling and some resistance training) and extreme discipline & sacrifice with our daily diets is how we manage not to gain weight. We eat mostly vegetables, fruits, some whole grains and low fat dairy on the days outside these videos. The calories consumed in a food challenge or mukbang are the only calories consumed that day and sometimes the day following as well seeing our appetites are typically shot from so much food and the thought of eating is very off-putting. Two days out we are back to large amounts of vegetables and increase to maintenance from there. We also often eat most of our days calories in a smaller eating window (we frequently bounce between intermittent fasting & OMAD diet as it just seems to work with our lifestyles and eating preferences). Anyone with a larger than normal stomach capacity like us, the drive to push through the discomfort of a challenge like this, and a basic understanding of energy balance (calories in vs calories out) can do it with enough disciple and intention (not that we recommend it).
Also worth mentioning is that we do not exercise to burn the calories consumed in a video but rather we are able to consume higher calorie diets due to our participation in endurance activities and said discipline with our daily diets.
Q: Can you make a “What I eat in a day” / fitness focused video?
A: While we’re sure that type of video will eventually make its way out there, this is not a health and fitness channel and we intend to primarily focus on indulgent food entertainment. We’re still in the very early stages of establishing ourselves within this genre and we’re constantly experimenting and trying to improve upon our style to make our channel a unique experience. Food is our passion while fitness is our discipline so, while we currently only have the availability to produce one quality piece of content a week, fun food-centered videos is where we’ll be focusing our attention (and trust us, it’s more fun for all of us this way). That’s not to say it will never happen, but it’s not a top priority for us.

Dang, we couldn’t appreciate the acknowledgment and kind words more! It honestly has us a bit confused and frustrated lately. There have been debates and opinions in our comments sections from people as to why the channel hasn’t grown but most of them have to do with things they think could be different IN the videos and forget that the videos themselves don’t have high views. For instance, if the video had 1M views and we still only had 29k subscribers, that’s how we’d know there’s something very wrong with the content in our actual video. It has to do with reach first. We seem to be failing at getting the algorithm to offer our videos to the larger audience of foodies that exists on KZbin. Trying to learn and experiment as much as possible to help change that before it becomes unsustainable. Again, you could likely end up with people here with opinions about why things haven’t progressed further but remember to take everything with a grain of salt - if someone hasn’t created a thriving channel then there is probably a lot of things they are not considering or jumping too far into the process and forgetting it starts with people clicking on the video. Anyways, all that to say… we’re not quite sure 😅 Much love

We have a bakery that makes the goods in house with real eggs and flour. It is superior to store bakeries. Store bakeries mass produce the goods with cheap ingrediencies . This was a no brainer who would be on top. Great video.

they eat the entire pastry for entertainment purposes. if you look on their channel you'll see food challenge capacity videos, and their channel is based on capacity challenges. every now and then they'll do food reviews or competitions. but their main entertainment motives are in capacity challenges in which they like to express because of their ability to eat that much food.

i do about 1 hour cardio a day ~1000 cal burned and i still couldnt eat like that. i can only imagine u guys run marathons daily .

Although your videos are entertaining your missing out on some big views, I notice you guys mainly only do bakery/sweets/deserts. Your missing out on a lot cause you don’t eat/like meat. I like your videos it just gets repetitive when it’s the same kind/type of food all the time
