Well, she did something similar to the Obabmas. They had come to Europe for some reason, and found out what day the Queen's REAL birthday is. (The official celebration is always in the summer, but her REAL birthday is in April.) So Obama calmly invited himself on an unofficial visit; and sent a message to say he and and Michelle were coming, uninvited. He never quite seemed to understand that he might have been the President aka Head of State of the God's Chosen Country the U.S. but this did not give hime quite the same status as a Ruling Monarch of Grrreat Britain. And he is not quite family. So, having stated that he was coming (from Germany or wherever) he was duly informed that he and Michelle would be picked up at Heathrow. Sure enough, a military helicopter was despatched to collect them...... with just enough room on board for Barack and Michelle. Of course he had brought his entire entourage with him, and they were all left behind on the tarmac, to twiddle their thumbs, and wonder what to do next. Their British military escort vehicle flew them to Windsor Great Park where they were met by a Land Rover, driven by Prince Philip. Obama, in his usual bossy way, didn't wait to be asked, but presumed to take charge of who sat where in the Land Rover. The Queen said that she sat in the back. So that was alright. I cannot find this clip any more- only another one of a different occasion that was a somewhat more formal arrival. I wonder if the Queen shared her chocolate cake with them, or ate it all herself.

MandyJMaddison, In America we do not think of the Queen of England the way you brits do. Queen Elizabeth is no one that important to me, the Obamas are much more important personages in my opinion. Don't take it personal, but your queen isn't a leader in my eyes. She just leads the Church of England, and I am not a Christian, so I am not impressed with her.
@MandyJMaddison6 жыл бұрын
Juliaoceana, YOU may not be impressed with her, but the Obamas were. Very. Luckily for the UK, they have had a Head of State who has been gracious, and behaved in an admirable manner for the last sixty years. She has never embarrassed her country, in the way that so many US presidents have done. And so we say "Long live the Queen!"

2:09 Doubt all you want. She's known to sometimes travel incognito by herself with only one or two guards following discretely. So when she says that people do not recognise her without the bright clothes, she has the experience to back it up. The thing is nobody expects the Queen of England to be on an ordinary train, dressed as a dime a dozen old lady. It's called plausible deniability. So even if they do recognise her, 99% of the people will probably just dismiss it as an uncanny likeness and leave her alone. And that other 1% can be told that 'oh no I get that all the time. But I'm not her.' The Dutch royal family have been rumoured to do the same thing. I guess a lot of celebrities tend to do this.

I will not be surprised if our media will call the new Duchess of Sussex "Duchess Megham" "Meghan" or "Meghan Markle". Also, according to our brilliant TV presenters St. George is a "cathedral;"instead of a royal chapel. I bet you did not know that? You got royalty- We got Trumps. I think you got the better deal.

Just a small point. Although the Queen is immune to prosecution by statute or common law, she CAN, in theory, be tried by Constitutional law. Magna Carta is even higher, its whats known as a Settlement Treaty, an agreement between the Crown and the people, and above the jurisdiction of Parliment. Magna Carta allows for the monarch to be tried by a 'Barons Court', a court of law held in the House of Lords. She can be prosecuted for breaking her Coronation Oath, or breaking any of the Settlement Treaties the Crown has signed. There are those in UK that argue by signing the six EU treaties, she has broken her Coronation Oath in which she agreed to "protect the people from foreign rule". By giving Royal Assent to the Eu treaties, she handed over a chunk of the nations soveriegnty to unelected forigners in Brussels, and therefore should be tried in a Barons Court for Treason. However, you'd have to arrest her to do that, and as the sayaing goes, "you and whos army?"

Everything is from TARGET or WALMART or SNAPCHAT or whatever, NOT her money. Like OPRAH and her cars 'you get a car, and you' paid for by the car company. ELLEN even admitted this, she joked on her chat show, "I LOVE giving money away, especially NOT my own!" (jokes usually have truth in them or we wouldn't say them.)

Old people also kill. It is not only expected from the young. The controlling old ones, have special people doing their dirty deeds and these people are also protected by them as it is their wish. The monarchy hides many secrets. I agree, no civilized government should allow some archaic monarch to create laws to keep her safe and untouchable by the justice of her subjects. It is a slap in the face of all the judges and lawyers who live and work in the UK. That country has no justice system if one member is allowed to be exempt. The queen is no figurehead. She rules and decides what laws she wants to make to protect her and her family. The Mp's and the PM, all agree with her. They are all sucking up to her. It is a very sick system and I expect, corrupt to the core.
@Ketutar6 жыл бұрын
Funny that. I have noticed that most people don't care about other people's money at all. So, what you have "noticed" is something you and people closest to you do. You mind it when people whom you don't like are rich. :-D Most people don't like people they don't like because these people do and say things that are unlikable, or don't do or say anything likable. Now, one's political leaning can be considered as "something people do or say that is unlikable", but I mean more real things, like if they help you when you need help. When it comes to "ELLEN giving OTHER peoples money away"... Two things here you might not have thought about. In charity giveaways people "give away" things that are not theirs, but that have been donated to them. Marketing is a huge part of a company's budget. Having your brand mentioned in a multinational show with millions of viewers is worth more than some cars or other things that are being given away. Now, when it comes to "I have heard that some conservatives are MORE likely to give to charities than libs". Could be, who cares? SOME are MORE LIKELY to give than others. Sure. It doesn't mean ALL, it doesn't mean they actually give, it doesn't say anything about the kind of charities, and it doesn't say much about the generosity and charity of the people involved. I mean, when Donald Trump gives less than 1 percent of his wealth to his own fund that exists to free him from the consequences of his wrongdoing, it's counted as giving a lot of money to a charity :-D

If she is at Windsor, Sandringham or Balmoral then most of her family and friends tend to actually live within range of her private roads, since they are probably already living within her private estates (all three named consist of mulitple properties, most of the properties further consist of mulitple separate dwellings), or else are currently staying somewhere within the estate as the Queen's guest at the time she is wishing to see them. I admit things would get more tricky when she is at Buckingham Palace, but even then Clarence House, Kensington Palace and St. James' Palace are all pretty nearby, and most of her family and friends are probably likely to be at one of those is she is resident at Buckingham Palace and they are not.

And very closely related...you might remember when they found the Imperial Russian Family's remains in the early 90's, they used Prince Philip's DNA to confirm it was them...anyway, I digress). Here's what I find interesting: Everyone is so quick to say "it's not strange at all! It's so common here! Have you people never been outside you're own houses?!" And no one is thinking: "why do OTHER people find it strange?" (As in... do you know how to put yourself in someone else's shoes?) Personally I find it strange that Harry is the nickname for Henry, not because I don't get it... but because nicknames are typically just a shortened version of a longer name. It would be weird to call someone Hen or Ry as a shortened version of Henry, so I suppose that's where Harry comes from. But it's still illogical in the sense that both names have the same number of syllables... so really.. what are you shortening? Nothing. You're just renaming someone. Whereas the majority of nicknames make more "sense". Nick is short for Nicholas. Bridge is short for Bridget. etc Most nicknames are either to shorten syllables or shorten the original name. (Not including nicknames that are given to you in your school days because of something you're known for) But then we have nicknames like Dick, which is short for Richard... and that also makes no "sense". Not because we can't comprehend that other cultures use the nickname Dick, but because it doesn't follow the traditional pattern of nicknames. Especially since "Rich" is a perfectly acceptable nickname. There's nothing wrong with it. I just think some of you are so quick to judge people and can't see other people's points of view. You just want to be like "get outside of your country and live a little"... but you're unable to accept other people's way of thinking.

You know why? Because just about anyone else is likely to talk to the press. The dogs are totally loyal

I treat my dog almost the same as she does hers. He doesnt eat rabbit or dine on silver. But he has the BEST of everything money can buy! I prefer to feed him on antique china.

CrazyMegan Britain did not invent the English language. It was brought to you guys when Denmark, northern Germany, neither land invaded Britain. Not to be rude but the English language change a lot from those time and no body speaks that way no more. So saying Britain invited English is like saying Britain invented cake. You might have invented it, but other made it better. Now let’s end this on a good note, how would you say these words .😊 *nutella *the *data

The Queen drinks ZERO alcohol on a daily basis, this is holiday referrances, even her chef who leaked this unfortunate personal info admitted so He said he was sorry that the info seemed to indicate that Her Majesty was a chronic daily user of alcohol/ hence an alcoholic

Harry is a perfectly normal diminutive of Henry and was once commonplace. It’s not a royal peculiarity as implied by the yank narrator. Same goes for Charles - Charlie, James - Jamie etc.
