@@BlaBla-pf8mfThe FV4005 looks like it should be housed at a naval museum. Think about it. The largest warship the Brits preserved was Belfast, a 152 mm gunned light cruiser. The FV4005 packs a 183 mm gun. If the Brits had had that thing back in 1939 they could have strapped it to the deck of one of their ships & used it to hunt the Graf Spee…

@@Arbiter099 Still, they all hang well together as one vid. Always good to have Fletch on the PC screen. Rumour is, when he eventually shuffles off to the parade square in the sky, oft referred to as Valhalla. His earthly remains will be stuffed and mounted in his very own display at the Bovi Tank Museum. I for one will be sure to salute as I pass by.

David's right about the conqueror being noisy, you could hear them coming down the Tank Rd in Osnabrück for miles, the whole road shook as they passed. We kids loved them and often cycled down to the Tank Park in Dodesheide just to watch them.

Nice to see Mr David Fletcher back on screen again. Re the 40 ton Chieftain, the engine used, Meteorite MK 202 B, same as the Antar. Suggestion, now i know what i am about to suggest is not technically Tanks. It is however the means of transporting them. Maybe the Museum could look at purchasing Tank Transporters and put a Tank on a trailer for display. Working from recent to past, the Oshkush, still in service so probably a no no. Scammel Commander, Antar and previous versions used in WW2. I think that a couple of Tank Transporters would be a great asset and attraction to the Tank Museum

Looking at the TOG, without any suspension it would have been very hard on the crew. I can say that because I frequently use a Elevated Work Platform vehicle at work which has no suspension and I get bounced around as I drive it around the grounds at about the same speed as the TOG was capable of. I certainly wouldn't like to spend a prolonged amount of time in a vehicle like TOG, being jostled and jolted and otherwise bruised as I travel around on uneven surfaces. No Thank You! For "initial trials" it was fitted with a mockup turret with dummy guns - a 2-pdr gun, 3-inch howitzer and a Besa machine gun - together with a 3-inch howitzer in the hull. The second turret fitted was simplified mounting a QF 3-inch 16 cwt anti-tank gun derived from the current anti-aircraft gun. In 1942 the tank was given a turret that was under development for the Cruiser Mk VIII Challenger tank design with the QF 17-pounder (76.2 mm) gun. The turret "in modified form" was used on the Challenger. The planned sponsons were never fitted"
