I had the Astro A40's and they were awesome. Then out of the blue my body decided it was going to have a reaction to anything over/in my ears... so I went with a surround sound and picked up (because of YOUR review that sold me on it) the Wave 3 and couldn't be happier. I even snagged the pop filter, shock mount and the Elgato mic arm (non LP) and I'm in my glory with zero complaints!

I've been using the Wave 3 for quite a while and no complaints. Also like that it includes the Wave Link software. For audio out I've usually got my A40's plugged directly into the mic.

I use the Shure MV7 with my RødeCaster. I like that its an XLR and a USB microphone. Great video - Keep up the good work.

I'd love to hear more about the sidetone functionality on these. So many mics have low quality 3.5mm jacks and terrible internal DACs with unlisted specs. For gaming I'm looking at the Maono pd400x, the Sennheiser profile, the beyerdynic fox, AT2020xp. These can all control sidetone from the mic and might have a decent DAC, but it's impossible for us plebs to know since specs arent listed for the 3.5mm jacks.

There is no such thing as a 'gaming mic'. There are just good and bad mics. look for a good mic that captures a rich sound, pair it with a good interface and you are good to go. Shure MV7 is my vote (great quality for a good price)

Anyone else having trouble trying to remove the screw on the bottom. Struggling with it so hard that I have bend the steel parts mostly.

I will say for me personally the mic that sounded the best was the steel series followed by the Asus and honestly the elgato sounded pretty bad in comparison. Although I will agree that the Asus did have static at higher levels but I heard more static coming from the elgato which is why I like it the least. Keep in mind that sound is quite different for everyone and it also depends on what you are using to hear the video.

All these microphones are lacking the rich mids and lows of a microphones from an audio company. To anyone considering one, take a listen to a Shure and Rode and you will instantly hear it.

Hey so I been looking at mics I'm torn between wave 3 and quadcast s. best buy got both 143$ 141$ but Walmart got the quadcast for 130$ price diff not really important but is wave 3 bit better in the software aspect of it. Using discord and light streaming but may get into it more. Which would be better in the long run
