It wasn't until today that I heard/read the term "capsule hotel". I still have no idea what it means.

At the end I legit said "This looks like a little hotel" without knowing the title. You have so many clever ideas that continually wow me. Can't wait until my build is further along.

FYI for the future Steel Wool comes in 4 grades from coarse to fine 0, 00, 000, 0000, Scotch Brite comes in 4 colors coarse to fine Red, Green, Gray, White (or sometimes Tan) you can get the latter in bulk at any Auto Paint Supply store! also the latter does not leave fine metal fibres all over the [CENSORED] place!

On those trim pieces with the 45* angles around the cubby pockets. Try using a CA glue to glue the trim together. Then attach to the wall you will end up with much cleaner joints. Overall great work man this is definitely an inspiration to get out work/finish a project.

It looks pretty posh! Here is an idea that you may want to use on your skylight. Some boats have a screen that slides in from the side or the end so that you can keep bugs out. (You see this on overhead port windows). It also has a shade that pulls in from the other side or end that totally blocks all of the light out. It runs on the same track. When they are both open, you have an open hole that you could go through. These are probably pretty expensive to buy, but I think that you could build one from some channel aluminum pretty cheaply and easily with off the shelf screens and shades and some custom cutting.

I love the look and color and it does remind me of a capsule hotel, although it's a more modern American style. From watching your videos i already know you could do a Full Japanese capsule style. What about a Japanese inspired version of a tiny home? I feel Japanese style instills some calmness in their designs

I have a question and thank you in advance. I am a lover of your channel. I’m keeping a rollup door and I was wondering can I use two by fours to frame the ceiling I’m gonna put a thick tongue and groove over the plywood there. Or should I use to buy threes? My only issue is I have a bunch of two by fours already.
@TheTechnoBarbarian
@TheTechnoBarbarian 2 жыл бұрын
2x4 would be a bit excessive weight-wise. You can probably use the smaller ones. I plan on framing my next ceiling with trimmed-down 2x4s.
@MotoMiles
@MotoMiles 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the fast reply. I was thinking the same thing yeah so I’ll hold off on the two by fours. I thought they be thick as well.

It's really difficult to stain with the poly mixed in and have it look professional. I use to use that minwax oil sheen. They're discontinuing it. 🙁

Would it make sense for build number two to finish all the walls and ceilings before building any cabinetry and ducts? So much easier to manage big sheets rather than scabbing tiny little pieces.

Any exterior attic reinforcement for withstanding the extra weight and movement when having female guests over ??? 😉🤣✌️🖖 Doesn't that attic area have a weight limit of around 200-300 lbs ???

have you estimated weight once you have completed the build? just thinking of load, manuervability and fuel mileage. and SAFETY GLASSES my friend.
@TheTechnoBarbarian
@TheTechnoBarbarian 2 жыл бұрын
Hard to estimate weight. In my head I think I'll be significantly under cap, but I'll probably end up underestimating. Plan on weighing it soon to see where I'm at. The mileage is basically pegged at about 10-11mpg regardless of load. I was getting about 11 hauling all of my stuff + towing my car from CA.

I would just use stain and then a clear poly over the stain. It never comes out looking good with the poly mixed in. I don't know why they sell the crap like that. It ruins your job. That's been my history with it.
