None of the screens are animated or scrollable and the accompanying app is broken and buggy... Good and detailed review, but I won't upgrade my beloved Bip to the GTS, mainly because it's incredible legible always-on display in well lit environments, with no impact on battery life (transfective technology). I've heard the GTS always-on halves the battery life, and is still very poor to read outdoors. The Bip does all the important things that GTS does, and with the Notify and Fitness app you can export data, control music ++. I also like the more discrete size of the Bip. With the Bip and GTS, you can design your own watch faces from the ground with the right tools. TIP: If you own the english version (non-latin firmware) of Bip, you can install a very legible bold font called myamazfit.ru_BOLD_v4q_newsmiles.zip made by a russian guy, which includes basically all western characters, and a number of emoji's as well. You can install it independently from Bip firmware with Notify and Fitness on android or AmazTools on iOS.

As you said heart rate monitoring can vary person to person. In the month I have had mine I have found it to be amazingly accurate, always within 1 of my arm cuff monitor.

Can't. Try reducing the playback speed to 0.75x - KZbin does a good job on this. And you can enable captions - I have full transcripts for every video. Hope that helps.

I bought the smartwatch finally! But I had a lot of trouble pairing my Oneplus 6T with it. I just got the GTS, my first Amazfit watch. Very slick Apple Watch clone but I wish there were more widgets, including hourly weather and water tracking. Sleep tracking, music controls, step counting and battery life are all great plus the watch is very light. The main downside is the app which is too complicated. It needs a Fitbit-like refresh.

Hi, Thanks for such a great review. I have a question please regarding connecting Amazfit GTS to iPhone if anyone can help. Did anyone experience issues keeping the app running in background? I used to have the Huawei GT2 but whenever I swiped the app up after double clicking home button of my phone, I immediately lose the weather update as the app stop running in the background though the settings are done to continue running. Thank you Linaa a! That's a tough one. At a very high level, the Vivoactive will be a better fitness tracker and has the whole Garmin ecosystem to support it. But the display is better on the GTS and so is battery life! Both provide notifications. Maybe I'll get in a Vivoactive and do a detailed comparison - thanks for the suggestion!

First off, AWESOME review, lots of details which help me to make a decision about changing my current Tick Pro watch. I love the look of the watch and its functionality, but I'm having to charge every other day. Regarding the battery life, if I only use the watch for heart monitoring and counting steps(No gps tracking needed), would you feel I would get close to 2 weeks of battery life? Second quick question, on my Tick Pro I could download many watch faces to the phone, then switch faces right on the phone, does the GTS allow me to have several or many watches that I could load from the app, then be able to switch faces from the watch itself? Thank you mrflipmode! Lot of choice out there! A Garmin watch may be another option - like the Forerunner 45. It'll be better for fitness tracking. But doesn't have the impressive touch screen of the GTS.

How do you compare this GTS to apple watch series 3? Since my budget is limited, so newer apple watch is not an option for me.

The Apple S3 Watch is hard to beat and is far more capable if you already have an iPhone. But it is more expensive, and battery life is far less.

Doesn't work with Strava on iOS with me using the Amazfit app - no response from support. I haven't tried it for swimming yet ...

was given an amazfit smart watch and it has a pattern lock on it. The family does not remember what the pattern they used and I am wanting to restart with my information. Very good review. Unfortunately amazfit app when i start it for the first time after i put me personal data cannot synchronized so i cant work my watch and i bought it yesterday. I am very sad and i do not know what to do. Sorry for my english.

Thanks Vpafi! Can you try downloading app to another device to setup? Or deleting and reinstalling the app and starting again. Try resetting the watch. Make sure Bluetooth is on. Otherwise I'd contact Amazfit ... Good luck.

Nice review. Maybe I missed it, but does it track stairs? Others in their line do, but I don't see mention of it, but it seems to have the sensor to do so.

I am considering this option. How have firmware updates been so far? I'm annoyed at most trackers inaccurate step counters as well as bad sync to either Google Fit / Samsung Health. I'd love to hear your opinion.

There have been firmware updates - but no major new features. I still think it tracks steps fairly accurately.

How about the notifications? Previously i own Amazfit Bip, but only used for about 9 mth before decided to sold it back because the notifications suck! It acts more like a 'Glance and miss' feature rather than notification. How about this watch? Is it proper notification rather than just glancing on the screen?

It's similar. You can access notifications after the fact though if you miss them ...

Thank ~you for this video but it's not answering my question as to the watch, I'm not brilliant at technology at all and I've managed to put something on that I don't want, everything was fine till I started playing with it, when the screen goes off, I now get a clock that wasn't there before and I can't find my way back to put it off and it's using a lot of my battery, how do I put it off please.

If you've turned on Always-on display you can turn that off in settings. If there's something I've not covered in the video you could check the user manual: support.amazfit.com/en/user-manual/index

Thank you Dominik Gruenthaler! You could have continuous heart rate tracking on the watch. But you can't broadcast your heart rate from the watch to the the app on your phone so it's included in the activity file if that's what you mean ...

No problem. I'd probably go for a Garmin watch like the Forerunner 35 - although I've not tested the heart rate on it yet and it's more a fitness watch than smart watch. I'm sure there are others too.
