Thank you for interviewing one of the finest men with very high integrity in America. Gary Clark and the South family has done more than most people know. This is a solution to avoid massive deaths like Helene just caused in several states. Sadly, people will rebuild with the same old stuff that was destroyed by a 500 mile wide monster of a hurricane. Too many losses of life, all because of sub par quality homes and mobile homes.

I live in Florida and have "weathered" many hurricanes. Florida residents now face an insurance crisis of epic proportions, and, yet few, if any, home contractors know about monolithic dome technology. I recently read an engineering study showing this type of structure will survive wind speeds in excess of 300 mph. To no avail I have contacted Gov. Ron DeSantis, the State of Florida Insurance commissioner, our Florida Senators and Congressmen and our local representatives regarding legislative incentives for this type of construction. There is a Dome Home on Cujo Key (Florida Keys) that survived two hurricanes completely intact and a MD type Humane Society Shelter in Panama City (FL) did very well in Hurricane Michael a category 5 'cane. As Uncle Eddie said to Clark Griswold, "Go figure, Clark".

We have lots of domes here. I also told politicians and governors office. They could care less. They are waiting for retirement. Most people I speak to about these domes want something normal but pretty. Kinda stubborn folk.

I went to Italy, Texas in 1998 I believe. My fiance introduced me to the Monolithic Dome Homes. I'm so regretful that I didn't build one. Now in my 60tys I'm too old to build one, but I'm trying to get my sister interested in them. We'll see when we visit your domes. I'm hoping real soon. I have your books and look at all your builds. Truck driver: I picked up a load at a military base ( location undisclosed for top secret military reasons) things got screwed up w the load schedule and I had to stay overnight on the base. This location had many of these buildings on it and the guy that yells at everyone and has allot of stripes told me to grab a cot and and stay inside for the night as it was extremely hot outside and the base regulations did not allow trucks to idle engines all night for A/C. Anyway it was a nice experience to stay w the troops in training inside a monolithic dome we ate MRE's and played cards and shot the bull just like in the movie Platoon but minus any pot smoking.

Even more than that... they can handle full on tornadoes and are also fire proof and earthquake proof. Basically indestructible.

I think it's plainly explanatory. I believe these homes will save our planet. Energy efficient. I q went to see them in 1998. I would build one if I was able, but trying to get my sister involved and build 2. Sell our homes and live on 2 acres of land. My idea of retirement.

That company can give you the details and also the training. They really only just sell the air forms, that is their business. Other companies do the actual construction, or the home owners do it themselves.

Mr. South says to build small and cozy and keep it simple. His home was big because of huge family gatherings. He loved his family and employees.

You're pronouncing it wrong. It's not pronounced It-a-lee like the country in Europe. The locals & true Texans pronounce it .... it-lee. Word to the wise 😘 Also the man he interviewed is no way from there. I personally know a few people that are born & raised there, graduated from high school there, went back there after college & they are all countrier than a chicken snake. Where's this man's accent. Ain't no way I'm believing he's a true It-Lee, Texas native. Ain't no way!

You can build these domes homes from inflated tyvek glued together ...just need the pattern ... a blower and a cement sprayer..

@@KNBARON I will check it out further, thanks. There is a gentleman that builds the hubs and other parts for a geodesic style dome made of pvc or rebar. People are trying different things to cover the outside of these dome structures. This company is called Zip Tie Domes which has videos on YT. There is another company known as BuildBlock based in Colorado. They post teaching videos here on YT. They have polystyrene forms for building a round building or home. Keep the ideas going. Thanks for your reply.
