The Texas Gun Vault

Ай бұрын

In this Range Report I am given the opportunity to shoot and review what some people think is a "Holy Grail" gun. This firearm is a Mateba Model 6 Unica Autorevolver chambered in .357 Magnum. This gun blends a revolver with the action of a semi-automatic pistol to create a unique and one of a kind gun. These were made for only a few years and are now considered to be very rare here in the U.S.. This video documents my personal thoughts, opinions and experiences with this unique firearm. Yours may vary.

Back in the day. I came across a good deal on a Ford SHO. My track buddy had a 5.0 mustang new. Same year. I outrun him like he was broken on the track every time. "fail points of a semi-auto" The "semi-auto" part really only does one thing: cock the hammer. The reciprocating action isn't required to feed the next cartridge into the chamber (or in this case, advance the cylinder). That's done via the hammer which can still be actuated with the double action trigger.

A very interesting firearm. Thanks for sharing. Was it the case with the 38 special ammo that it sometimes re-cocked the hammer without indexing the cylinder? Does the front sight lower for adjustment? Looks like it may be on a hinge or jacking screw for elevation?
@thetexasgunvault
@thetexasgunvault 22 күн бұрын
Yeah, I thought the screw was for holding on the sight. When I reviewed the .44 Mag version, I was able to adjust it.

I think that the gun may favour a different load. The accuracy is certainly less than I'd hope for. By comparison I've used a S&W 6 inch stainless underlugged to break static clays at 20+ yards. This borrowed gun used a handload developed by its owner and was easy to shoot well.

@@thetexasgunvault thanks for asking but I watched a forgotten weapons video that explained that there is a pin in the breech face that indexes into the rear of the cylinder instead of a notch on the outside of the cylinder. I also saw the ejector rod on an open cylinder in that video.

4-5lbs for a SA revolver trigger is pretty good if you could afford to carry it. Not so light that you might accidentally pull the trigger in a high stress scenario.
