Thetford Fridge Problems. Old and New Parts Not Compatible.

Thetford fridge problems, trouble is new and old parts aren't always compatible, The new Thetford N3000 and N4000 thetford fridge pcb boards from pre 2015 are not compatible with the lcd dispalys, so once a new fridge pcb board is fitted, the lcd dispaly will show a warning of low voltage and require the lcd display to also be changed.
Buy the Thetford 691139 pcb and lcd if your fridge is pre 2015 :amzn.to/45CTFRm

Yes Google the error codes is a good place to start, but they don't always lead you down the correct path. 👍

Thank you for the video, useful. While the parts are expensive, at least they have back engineered to fit older fridges. Many a time ive heard the phrase well that is what you need but they are not available anymore, I bet they are cheaper than a new fridge!

Mark, I find your vlogs hugely interesting but having owned caravans and motorhomes for the last 12 years the poor quality of the components is shocking. As a car mechanic I am well used to the shocking standards of component life but the leisure industry has reached new levels of robbing the customer with constant faults. On my three year old Bailey motorhome so far had to replace a water pressure switch developed a solar pane fault where it will not charge leisure battery and another probable pcb fault on the boiler that will not light on gas. Really not good enough.

Very helpful information. My fridge just wasn't getting cold on gas was lite and running but not cold worked fine on mains turned out some dork had fitted wrong size jet on a service it cost me a small fortune

My N3112 fridge (2014 coachman from new) has just failed on mains, still ok on gas and 12v, Ten years old but only a years worth of use possibly, built in obselesence looks like I'm going to have to do a similar job, thanks Thetford.

Thetford should have stuck with toilets and left fridges to Electrolux. We had little trouble with the old 212s, and an occasional service would keep the going for years. I hated working on Thetford fridges. They were always troublesome.

My issue is I have lost all power the the fridge. Checked all fuses I can find but can't find the fault.

Has it got a fuse in the back of this buddy ? In that black box 12v /240 I’m having issues with mine spanner 10 flashing light Apparently no 12v feed getting to it On the fuse board for 12v fridge changed fuse and still the same

Mark, whats disapointing here is that a main OEM like Thetford has designed in Obsolecence to their fridge. Why do they have to reinvent the wheel and expect the customer to pick up the tab for their reliability issues?.

@@thecaravanplace just not getting cold it started when I was on gas the screen kept cutting on and off I thought I was out of gas which I was. Changed cylinder still problem continued next site I was on power plugged in put on electric still same thing was happening. Now fridge stopped working and on full freezer setting still not getting cold but not flickering showing nothing. Think it must be mother board.

I have an old n112 thetford fridge in my caravan, ive been told the pcb has been discontinued. Is there an equivilent newer pcb that will fit? or is it a new fridge? Great videos btw.

Why not get the old board repaired it will be a lot cheaper. Lots of places advertise on eBay.

Nobody repairs the N112 power boards, The parts they needed to build or repair them have been discontinued , Most of the repair shops will repair the Dometic pcbs but not the Thetford ones

reverse polarity will give u the same fault. be carefull out there
