Thanks br Jalal for this needed topic. What Thinking Muslims can do is to manage a retreat where some participants can meet to discuss priorities, challenges & opportunities Muslim youth in US face.

Lanturna organization in the US puts together an annual 7-day Seerah retreat in Dar Al-Islam in NM, and this is one of the topics that I've seen participants discuss amongst each other and with the teachers. As a teaching assistant, I can attest to how powerful and uplifting it is to see Muslims from all over the US and the world come together and exist in this space, attempting their best at recreating Madinat An-Nabi (SAW), even if it is just for 7 days. Jazakum Allah Khayran for bringing this to Usatdth Muhammad Jalal's attention!

The problem is by punishing democrats you punished your own interests. Kamala may have stood up to Israel on Palestine, but you already know Trump will not. Additionally, he doesn’t align at all with your interest.
@azamulhaque863718 күн бұрын
You cannot just write candidates name on the ballot. The candidate needs to file to be approved to be a write-in candidate. Jill Stein was disqualified because her initial VP nominee filed to withdraw and there cannot be a president candidate without VP and since she did not file to be write write-in, could not write her name either. Different states have different rules but this is the rule in Ohio.

I'm only about 5 minutes into the video but just one point of clarification, Jill Stein got more votes as a write-in this year in Illinois than Howie Hawkins did in 2020 when they were on the ballot. Also biden won the new Hampshire primary as a write-in too, so write-in campaigns are definitely disadvantaged but not entirely hopeless.

I'm probably a cynical Muslim, but I think so long as AIPAC has a chokehold on both political parties. I don't see why we as Muslims should vote.
@RIPhikennoace18 күн бұрын
I would go even further. I believe the Deep State is real, and the elections are just a circus show to control the population and make them believe that they actually influence politics.

Muslims need their own Muslim AIPAC...
@muhammadabdulhaseeb796118 күн бұрын
It would be better to break these rackets who control the majority of candidates in both parties.. Just vote for those candidates who have proven "concretely" that they opposed all of these rackets... So next time people will distance themselves from these rackets because they fear losing. It is a long and hard process but if people keep at it, it is guaranteed to be successful.
@moee734117 күн бұрын
Actually ppl can break AIPAC by voting in the Primaries and vote for ppl who aren't sponsored by AIPAC!
There is a fair bit of fear about denaturalization. Some of the more extreme elements of Trump’s movement are talking about opening up people’s citizenship applications and assessing whether a citizen was, at any point in their stay in the United States, here illegally. If so, they want to denaturalize and deport.

As a Muslim Americans I think we need to quit putting our faith and safety in the hands of nation state leaders that are themselves lost between modernity and liberalism,that is a risk even if you want to live in “Muslim state” . I think we are hear to exercise our religion at our best way we think, and with a good entente so we can reach hearts around us like community ,friends…so the question is are we here for ourselves and don’t care about others o?or we are here to make a America a better place for everyone ?? So if you choose the right path,be ready my brothers to be pushed and having a lot of thorny obstacles on your way to deliver the beauty of Islam. And be sure only than God will prevail ,like he promised. Jazakom Allah khayran brothers.

Uniting to help crush the Dems for they are doing was the right choice. Moving forward we can support anyone from across the political spectrum who supports us, but mainly we can strengthen ourselves economically. Look outside of the political realm for strength. This country was designed for political gridlock, as you’ll see when Trump and Elon try to impose their vision.
@aryeh15518 күн бұрын
So the electoral college made voters in solidly blue States stay home and give Trump a larger margin on the popular vote. Whereas we could have attempted to still keep the popular vote nationally and used it as a launching point to attack Trumps electoral win and to dismantle the electoral college. We need a national popular vote and an uncapped House immediately.

Ppl need to look at policies and not party is what ppl should be voting for! And to really make change is to get out in the Primaries! We were able to get Rep., Tlaib elected and why AIPAC can't primary her!

I don’t think the Democrats lost because of the Muslim vote. There is just not enough Muslim participation to make a difference in US elections except in places like Michigan that has a significantly high concentration of Arab Muslims. Kamala was not a desirable candidate, and most of her support was mostly because of the fear of Trump. Economy and immigration had a major impact on electoral decisions not Gaza or Palestinians. Therefore if Muslims go around parting themselves on the back thinking that they somehow punished the democrats, they totally misread the elections. However, there is a strong progressive left of the Democratic Party that would have pushed Kamala administration to contain Israel and do better for the Palestinians had she won. As much as some Muslims think republicans or democrats are same on Gaza, they’re soon going to realize that Trump and Netanyahu have the same goal, and that is to drive all Palestinians out of Gaza into Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon so that Israel would expand its settlements into the entire Gaza. Palestinians who would resist being pushed out of Gaza will be bombed and killed or Israel will simply bomb and destroy the entire Gaza until it’s not possible to live there anymore. With Trump Israel has four years to neutralize Iran and move everybody out of Gaza for future Israel settlements. That’s what Muslim Americans voted for. My heart bleeds and hurts for the women and children being murdered by Israeli bombs everyday in Gaza without anywhere to go, but l don’t want to hear any Muslim American complaining because this is what they did to their brothers and sisters in Gaza while they’re sitting comfortably in America.

Biden and Netanyahu were more ideologically aligned than Trump and Netanyahu are. I'm not saying that will make a difference in their policy but there's no reason to believe Harris' would have been different either. Her campaign sent Bill Clinton to chastise Muslims for objecting to the slaughter of their families, ffs. To suggest that whatever happens is the responsibility of Muslim voters is victim-blaming on a grotesque level. Nobody's buying your bleeding heart, btw.
@muhammadabdulhaseeb796118 күн бұрын
You are delusional. There is literally no difference between them both but one.. Dems talk sweet and reps talk the walk. They both walk the same. This is not rational to support the "convicted" criminal against the "Potential" criminal even though the potential criminal seems like the potential criminal will actually commit the crime.
