How to thread a Pfaff 145 industrial / commercial sewing machine. This walking foot is a workhorse in the upholstery industry and can easily handle leather. So how do I thread the Pfaff 145 or 545? @@TheThoughtfulWoodworker I am having issues with the tension I believe. Not sure if it is the needle size or possibly the thread size I am using. I have a 190LR 24 with 207 Poly bonded thread. I will get three or four decent stitches and then it misses completely for about 4 or 5 stitches. Any ideas what could be causing this?

@@lelandartripe860 Yes, that's a bit too heavy thread for that machine. Start with 92 weight thread and a #20 needle. 138 thread would be about max. Is your 545 an H4 version? If yes then the 190 system needle is perfect. If it's an H3 then it uses a 134-35 needle system. Good luck getting it dialed in.

@@TheThoughtfulWoodworker Willie yes its the H4. It was bought used and had a 135/17 needle in it when I got it so I had some concerns that someone may have retimed it for the smaller/shorter needle. Could that be possible?

@@lelandartripe860 yes that's possible. If so, it's pretty easy to put it back to the stock configuration. You would just need to raise the needle bar slightly. My Juki LU-563 uses a 135-17, but I converted it to a 190 needle system by raising the needle bar. Best

What causes thread to coil up underneath the bobbin holder, the area underneath the whole assembly.

Common causes are the bobbin isn't wound well, the machine or bobbin isn't threaded correctly, or the bobbin wasn't installed properly. Good luck with it.

I need a little more info if you're having a sewing problem. Not picking up the lower thread? Not pulling up a tight stitch under your material?

What might be wrong if my Needle is not catching the Bobben thread. I have a pfaff 545. I have 2 needles 135 35lp and 135 17.

The wrong needle can cause that. A 545 H3 takes a 134-35 needle, but a 545 H4 takes a longer 190 needle system. Good luck!

Hello Willy, I have been learning a lot about the Pfaff 145. i currently have a Pfaff 145-H3, my machine works very well. Your video is very helpful, thank you. My Pfaff is in need of servicing and it is almost impossible to find a repair person where I live, hear in British Columbia, Canada. Have you made a video regarding servicing the Pfaff 145, also I am trying to find a supplier that has parts for the Pfaff 145, could you please tell me where to look for these parts. Absolutely right ! Do NOT take the thread over the pin at the tension discs. Will cause havoc with the tensions etc. Nightmare !!!

The needle will move when winding a bobbin on this machine. That's normal. Just be sure to raise the presser foot and unthread the needle. Best to you!
