In the first one that was Suga and His first love was the piano/music. He found the piano when he was very young and fell in love with it. Music was what he wanted to do with his life and his parents were not supportive of him. He was told he would bring shame to the family because he would never make it in the music industry. Without his parents support he followed his dream and there was no shortage of struggle on his path to fame. He would sometimes make 10 cents on a cd he sold on the streets. He would preform in front of crowds of 2 or 3 people. He would starve himself to save the money for creating music. He hardly slept and hardly ate for day, weeks, months because music was more important to him. He shattered his shoulder making deliveries at a part time job to cover his music experiences. He fought with depression and suicidal thoughts. Despite all this he made his dreams come true. He didn't let anything get in the way of his dream not his disapproving family, not his hunger, not his exhaustion, not his physical pain, not his emotional suffering. He is the definition of strength. He is the definition of hard work. He is the definition of determination.

The purpose of these short films was to tease their album Wings. Every film has audio snippets from one of the solo tracks and the corresponding title, and stars the singer/rapper that performs it. So the music from this film is from the song Reflection by Rap Monster off their album Wings (repackage: You Never Walk Alone).

If you think it's a lot to watch two in one day imagine when they first released them, out of nowhere! no one even knew they filmed them and they released one a day for a week!!! plus there are so many pieces that call back to other videos! Like almost being hit by a car, Rap Monster tattooing himself, writing 'I need to survive' in the mirror. These short films are based on a new story (Demien. I'm sure you've heard about it) but there are so many hints that the characters are the same ones as in the old stories they've told. It's so fun to did so deep on the symbolism and it actually makes you do some critical thinking, a rare thing in pop culture, or it's just incredibly beautiful imagery to just sit back and watch...beyond phenomenal cinematography! ARMYs can be super intense. (sorry we flipped out on you for the wrong subtitles) I think yall understand why we're extraordinarily passionate. BTS is an extra+ordinary group.

In Begin, Jungkook whistles the same tune before he picks up a picture of Suga where it looks like his eye is bloody or something. That same whistle tune is what Suga plays on the piano, then hears and follows out of the music store, just in time to not be hit by the car. This is my favorite of the solo songs so I hope you guys get around to giving it a listen!

And I'm pretty sure that each video mainly ties the character pairs that exist in the HYYH trilogy (I Need U, Prologue, Run, Young Forever) with blips of each of the other characters. There are also many themes that cross into all of the videos, like the rainbow color scheme. The bird that RapMon looked at to tattoo on his arm was pulled out of an envelope. Jungkook, in Begin, picks up the bird picture and places it into an envelope at the end of his film.

In REFLECTION I think the phone call was V (Taehyung) from STIGMA calling Rap Monster (Namjoon), because in the end, V asks to call someone. In the end Rapmon can't take the call, so I suppose V goes to prison. Also I want to point out that in FIRST LOVE there is a bathtub overflowing with water and it's the same bathtub that you can see in LIE (the one Jimin falls on and then he dances there while it is overflowing as in FIRST LOVE). And last thing, about the songs, and that sick beat in the end, every short film corresponds to one song in the album with the same name as the short film, all of those songs are really good, I recommend you check them out ;). That's all, I hope my english wasn't too bad, and as always, this was a fantastic reaction. Keep up the good work :D!

What I love the most about all of these short films is that engages fans to think for themselves and to see things in their perspective based on an I individual's experience. Sure its great to enjoy a MV for what it is but I have fun trying to figure out these films and the meanings behind them. I appreciate music better like that. I am so happy BTS and BIGHIT went this route cuz it shows their growth as artists and that they're not just idols.

Remember that the 3rd one has V asking for a phone call in the police station. In this, while Namjoon was "drugged"(?) V was calling him and Namjoon wasn't able to go to help V, didn't answered and that's why in the phone glass apears the word "LIAR" in red letters.

Okay so, a few things. These videos are all teasers for songs on BTS's Wings album. Every member got one solo song and the videos often play a little bit of it. Like, the beat David liked is from the song "Reflection". You actually got a lot right about First Love, since the song is exactly about Suga's journey as a musician and his first love is the brown piano where he first learnt music as a child. Some other connections/little things about the film. - it connects a lot with the first one "Begin"(Jungkook's solo). Like people have said, the wings videos come after the narrative established on their previous album. On the mvs for that album they were often paired, and seemed to have a turbulent relationship going on (maybe romantic). - In Begin Jungkook seems to be dreaming and wakes up with the sound of a car crash. The burning piano also flashes at some point. - People also think that the person Jungkook is painting in the mv is Suga. Or maybe a composite of both of their faces blended together. - the piano also makes an appearance in their mv for Danger and there Jungkook trashes it with a bat - the bathtub is also a motif in a lot of the videos. Not only that but also water in general. Okay, now moving to reflection. The song is very much about self-loathing. Rap Monster talks about how he sometimes feels isolated and about the struggle to live himself and forgive himself for his faults (something also explored in the song Fire if you look at the lyrics). - the start of Reflection also heavily references their Danger mv, where Rap Monster also tattoos himself. - in the end of Stigma (the third video) V asks for a phone call and most people think he was the one calling - V and Rap Monster were also often paired in their previous album's mvs and are arrested together in Run. To finish I would just like to say that I'm really loving this series and how in depth you guys go into the videos, I hope you do all of bts' narrative videos because you guys have so much insight. Also, I hope you guys eventually listen to the solo songs because they are SO GOOD.

From what I gathered for First Love, the piano represents his youth and innocence, his first love being the piano. And then as life happens he's taken away from his youth and innocence and it eventually goes away and dies. The whole choice thing is him saying if he hadn't chose to go away or done something else would he still possible have that youth and innocence, his first love so to say

In a literal sense ‘First Love’s lyrics Suga talks about music, and the piano being his very first love. In the mv he is shown approaching the store, the piano inside the locked-up store - his parents didn’t approve of his passion for music but in the end, he broke in to play it - his love for music was forbidden in a way. This is when he accepted his love for music after neglecting it for a while, when he started to play it again it was awkward for him. Then he heard a whistle, he left the music shop and walked down a endless road. I believe the whistles resembled his conflicting thoughts of if he should become a musician or not, along with others like his parents trying to dissuade him. Then a car drives past him, nearly hitting him, he is brought back to reality, or the car represents the time his shoulder got crushed when he had a job in delivery, the blood spattered on the road shows the pain he went through at that time or how Jungkook left a mark on yoongi's path in life since he could have been the one listening idk, then you see a road above him a different path he could have taken but decided not to. He chooses the path of being an artist, he then revisited the store after he heard the crash. His crushed shoulder/the car in the mv set his piano on fire. It shows how his first love became destructive to him, he couldn’t play the piano until his shoulder would heal, and he was struggling and second guessing himself. The excerpt than namjoon read at the beginning showed what happened to suga. In real life when his shoulder was crushed he was lonely and devastated that he could no longer play the piano/ do music, this could have been when he was still deciding what he wanted to do in life. But during the time his shoulder was healing he recognized how lonely/ unhappy he was and realized he would be like this the rest of his life if he didn’t do music. I am not sure if him breaking into the store is happening in the real world or in his mind, in his mind when he approaches the piano again he seems hesitant but then breaks into the store he goes against what his parents where telling him, and the warning goes off, constantly reminding him in his mind he shouldn’t be playing the piano or his parents are warning him again too. After his shoulder is crushed he realized his love is overflowing for music which is symbolized with the overflowing bathtub. Also, before I forget I believe that in Lie the over flowing bathtub for Jimin represents that his lies are overflowing and he finds it hard to stop. Right after the piano starts burning you can hear the whistling again and suga looks distraught but then goes back to focusing on the piano or his first love. He stopped listening to what everyone else was saying or his other what if thoughts about his career.

Ayyyy, my job here is done. But I can still drop some sweet info without translations! The one in the first video, First Love, is our genius producer Suga (real name Min Yoongi), second oldest and rapper. Which, by the way, you should definitely check out his mixtape (especially the song The Last, it's so powerful and raw). Also, Suga is pronounced like sugar, but without the R. And the one on the second video is our boy Rap Monster (real name Kim Namjoon), leader and rapper. Also a genius with an IQ of 148. He also has a mixtape and it's really good. The song in his video is called Reflection, and it's his solo track from the album Wings. All of the songs you hear in the short films are their solo songs titled after the short films (or the other way around, but really, it doesn't matter). So yeah, it's an actual BTS song. You should listen to all of them after watching the short films, they're all really good. And they all reflect the members in them, since they wrote or helped write their own songs. You're doing a really good job with these, honestly. Having the subtitles while you watch is a lot better since you'll have all of the pieces of the puzzle to understand it better. And as far as the theories go, I've said this before and I'll say it again: there is no right or wrong. There was never an official explanation, so whatever you think it is, it is. That's why I think it's so fun to see what other people think is going on. There are so any good theories. And I was gonna point you to Stigma (short film #3) again to understand the phone booth, but a lot of people beat me to it and said it in the comments what it was. As a teacher, I'm conditioned to give a little help but let people figure things out by themselves, so I was a bit triggered. But this is just a me thing, don't mind me lol As a side note, I noticed that picture of Nickelback holding the photograph on the bottom left corner a few videos ago and now I find myself looking for it every single time and it's so distracting. I absolutely love it. I look forward to your reactions to MAMA. That short film honestly gave me goosebumps.

That's why I do really believe that BTS is not just a typical "boyband". This level of promotion is superb.

aRM_BTS Hello there! Yes, it was very fun indeed. I think it was also what unified us as well, since we all put our heads together to try and make sense of things. I'm really glad Big Hit did this to not only promote their album, but the individual members as well. I'm really happy they all got a chance to speak their minds at such an official level, putting solo songs they wrote or helped write on their actual album. BTS is truly different from other boybands, and it's one of the things that make me love them so much.

i like that you picked up on the dissonance, and that breaking in to play the piano was a huge part of his narrative. the alarm going off constantly in the background played a huge part in the story telling.

First Love always makes me think of Suga's struggle to do music. From what I've heard, his parents never supported his choices to be a musician and he had a really hard time about it. So having to break into the store, having to fight to do what he loved makes sense.

There's soooo much symbolism going on. Every short film features one of the boys and it is connected to both their solos (by giving us symbolism connected to them personally or the story hey chose to portray, but also music samples) and among each other. #1 Jungkook #2 Jimin #3 V #4 Suga #5 Rap Monster #6 Jhope #7 Jin The title of the short film is the title of the song. Suga's symbol is the burning piano, and you'll understand why when you hear/read the lyrics of First Love (it is connected to his actual past). The telephone booth was a reference to V (Stigma). V was basically actually arrested for killing his abusive stepfather (as seen in anoher music video calle I Need U that was part of another album, also symbolized by the breaking glass because he killed him with a broken bottle) and what you saw at the beginning of Stigma was him acting out. The puppy going away while he was behind bars symbolized his loss of innocence. He was the one calling Rap Monster (you know, the classic phone call you get from jail) who couldn't get to the phone. As for Rap monster, we find the symbol of the bird AND paint in common with the first film, that of Jungkook. Rap Monster drinking is connected to the green stuff he drank in Blood Sweat and Tears, which is an addicting substance (I cannot remember the name! Sorry, palls, but English is not my native language). He tells himself that he must survive in order to get to his friend (the phone call). So Rap Mon's symbolism is connected to addiction and the difficulty of gettig out of it and, imho, of keeping tight onto the relationships we have in our lives. The bird's symbolism is, of course, connected to the idea of Wings>angel>Lucifer>temptation (this is one of my theories, at least) and also the fall of Icarus (somebody mentioned that when V falls from the balcony in Blood Sweat and Tears, the painting we see in that scene is a painting of this). Oh there's also the painting that references the one seen in the 2nd short film which might symbolize another reality, which actually ties in to the drugs, the consequent theme of addiction and hallucinations. Oh and let's not forget the broken reflection, which might tie in with the symbolism of having a broken perception of self AND again, with V and him killing that man with a broken bottle. We have the bathtub in Suga's short film, which is connected to Jimin (2nd movie AND him trying to drown himself in I Need U- the music video that came out previous to this album). Also, of course, the road. Suga's past is made up of hard and extremely important choices. When we choose something, we symbolically choose to take a road instead of another, right? But there's also him looking lost on said road which, again, ties very closely to his past. The song he plays on the piano is Jungkook's (1st short film) and the whistling he follows ties in with Jungkook's film as well. The song that was playing after he left the shop was a sample of his solo. (nice catch! His first love was, in fact, music. Many people didn't get that. Not even after actually listening to the song and reading it's lyrics) The car accident? Jungkook again. In I Need U, Kookie is the victim of a car accident. It's like his whistling saved Suga from the same fate. The fact that the piano is burning bc of an accident is imho tied with what Suga says in his song. (I don't want to spoil it for you, so I won't be going into detail). The pills we glimpsed in Jimin's short film tie in with Jhope, as you'll see (also, I Need U, again. There's a lot gong on in that video- The Original Version!), and vice versa, there's something that will tie Jhope to Jimin. Oh, also Jimin biting the apple! Biblical reference anyone? Especially when temptation&sin are some of the central themes in this whole concept? As for Jin, we have an apple there as well. I won't be saying much about him because 1) I am not as familiar with his journey and 2) I do believe that his short film relates a lot with I Need You, the Prologue and Run. Gosh there's so much more to say, but honestly, this is a mess already on its own lol.

Also somebody probably already said this but all of these films, the mvs & solo songs have 3 layers: a connection to the story of Demian, to the struggles of youth/coming of age concept of their albums, and finally to their own individual, real-life stories, to an extent. Enjoy! :-)

The reflections don’t end, showing how many thoughts he is having about himself, his thoughts become overwhelming he walks backwards and then clutches his head in pain. But when he does this he seems to focus more, he realizes that he won’t get anywhere in life if he lets this dominate him, so he breaks all his conceptions of how he appears to the world, he had to break down everything he formed about himself. With these thoughts gone, only now can he move on in life he runs out of the box he trapped himself in. Now he no longer hears the busy tone, but someone is calling him, they are reaching out to him, and despite breaking his endless row of thoughts and reflections he still is facing the obstacle of communicating with others. I can personally relate with this, when I have been depressed I find that I close myself off, I stop communicating with others despite desperately wanting to talk with others about my pain. I hate myself for it, but I tell myself I don’t deserve it I will only burden then. In this case Rapmonster has friends and family reaching out to him, and he wants to communicate with them, but something with in his mind is holding him off from doing so. He is struggling with this inner conflict he wants to get help, to finally reach out, but it isn’t ever that easy. Then you hear the line “I wish I could love myself” repeated, but while the camera is panning out you can see LIAR spray painted on the telephone booth. I think he is split between wanting to reach out and get help, or staying where he is. I can also relate with this, sometimes I just want myself to suffer, and live a horrible life, get bullied, starve etc. This sounds so crude to wish such a thing when so many are dealing with horrible things like that and don’t want to be in those situations and here I am asking for it. But my brain just wants me to suffer, it is hard to logically explain it. I am not saying Namjoon has thoughts like I do, but I think this shows how he is struggling between whether he wants to be happy. I am not sure if his brain is calling him a liar for wanting to love himself or the people who are trying to communicate with him, maybe it is both though. But part of him wants himself to stay in this miserable state while the other part desperately wants to finally be happy, if that makes sense? I think Rapmon’s circle/ life combines with Jungkook’s because jungkook just became an adult and may be struggling with the same thing that Rapmon did when he was a younger adult, but also because Jungkook’s song is based on not wanting to see his hyungs be upset and hurting since that hurts him the most. So Jungkook is reaching out to Rapmon to get him out of his hurtful thoughts, and when he sent the drawing of the bird Rapmon could get break through his destructive never-ending thoughts. Sorry for this being a jumbled mess of words, and sorry for not really touching that much on First Love’s lyrics but I think it was just more straight forward then Namjoon’s not that it is any less meaningful! And I know the parts about me relating are a bit unnecessary but I feel like it helped show how/why I interpreted it that way ^^. (I apologize for making so many comments apparently you cant have a 5 page comment XD)

They also helped write the lyrics, so each song is also personal to the member. That whole album is art.

Not sure if you noticed but at the end when he sings, "I wish I could love myself" the word Liar appears on the phone booth. This same phone booth is shown in STIGMA... and well, I think ARMYs have pretty much told you the connection between those two films. I can't wait for y'all to watch the last two! 👍

All the things I noticed in these two short films(+connections): -The words that appears in the black screens are always lyrics from their other songs. -Jungkook dies hit by a car in "I Need U", Suga may have seem it and regret that he could not save him. He maybe also regret not saving Jimin, since the bath tub appears. -I think that the road shows up above him too because it was a Reflection, referencing the next short film to give it other meaning, something more psychelogic (idk). -On the store, there is a photo of two people shaking hands. I don't think it's connect, just reminded me of the inicial scene from "Fire", lol. -In the book Demian, it's write that the whistling is the call from the evil, the temptation that incites you to do something bad (It's also the same whistling that was in the first short film, Jungkook's). -Jungkook hold a drawing of Suga in the first short film, so it's obviously connected somehow. (Maybe Kookie really died because of Suga). -I think we need to considerate that there's a person driving the car, what can mean that can be one of them trying to kill the other. Idk, it's just my theory tho. We can't see no one in the car, so it may be just symbolic. -The tattoo scene also appears in "Danger". -The location where he is appears in "Run" and "Prologue", It's probably his house. -The message "You need to survive" was write by himself in "Prologue". -The phone call is from V (I'm 100% sure). The same phone booth appears in V's short film and he ask the police if he can have a phone call. In "Prologue" he also calls RapMon. -The tattoo bird was a mail from Jungkook, that's why they connected. And we can see that RapMon was already trying to draw a bird, but failed, so he used Kookie's bird like a reference. His tattoo bird is diferent. -A lot of their videos there's hints that RapMon may be autodestructive, he's always hurting himself without a care. -The words "I see someone throught the mirror right now" is refering to himself, that is why it's called REFLECTION. And the "right now" is because what he did that made this happen. -In the phone booth we can read the word "Liar" appear when RapMon give up on trying to open it. -The glass breaking scene probably is connected with other scene from "Blood Sweat and Tears(Japonese version)", where we can see the glass all broken already and RapMon with bloody hands, seeming like the punched the glass. (sorry my bad english) Ahh, so much going on... gosh darnit, Big Hit! x'D One day I will stop being so lazy and actually try to connect everything~ Lol, yep, it all is my "not trying" state, kk.

This next line always distinctly stands out to me personally. “My friend looking at the Han river there,” I personally immediately imagine him talking about a same aged stranger who is contemplating suicide by jumping into the Han river from a bridge, but he could also be referring to a stranger looking at the Han river at Ttukseom. I am not sure if the friend part he is referring to someone of the same age or if he feels like he is friends with them because they seem to be going through the same thing. However, no matter who he is referring to he then talks about how we have or don’t influence someone’s life. I personally tend to think about this somewhat frequently. I like to think that I believe in fate, or that everything affects everything. For example, who you sit next with on the subway, and someone makes you uncomfortable and then you have a certain urgency to get off faster but end up bumping into a person that is already having a crap day and then they take it personally like the whole world hates them and so they decide after you bump them to drink a lot that night etc. etc. Yeah that kind of thing is what I believe in. Everything (surroundings, people in your life, your health, mentality, morals, childhood) affects everyone in this whole ecosystem/ web. Anyways I feel like namjoon is hinting to those kind of thoughts when he says “If we brush along as we pass, will we be fated? Or maybe we met in previous life? Perhaps we crossed paths many times? “ I am not going to even try to get caught in a lie like Jimin, I am not exactly sure how to interpret the next line “In the dark people look happier than they did during the day. They all know where they are supposed to be. Only I am walking aimlessly.” I think what makes the most sense is that normally when it is night people return to their homes, friends, family, or pets. They return to something, and they are no longer working usually, they get to relax and enjoy their time freely. But he also could be referring to depression or despair, how people in when it’s night they reveal their inner selves expressing their pain instead of bottling it up during the day, yeah they aren’t happy, but they are happier than they were when putting on a front/facade. However in either scenarios or cases Namjoon feels aimless either he feels like he has no family/home to return too (in the mv he can’t get to the phone so this maybe because of his lack of communication that makes him feel like he is aimlessly walking around nothing to keep him tied down to reality) also he may be very somber while walking around aimlessly with no purpose while drunk (throughout a lot of the bts mv’s he can be seen drinking something hinting to alcohol or the even more powerful Absinthe that makes you hallucinate) , or like some other depressed people he can’t express his sadness at night or in the dark, he may feel nothing and has no goal or purpose. But even though he is walking alone with no goal or intent in mind it feels comforting to walk among others at Ttukseom like he is somehow gets included in their lives if only just for a second, or there are so many people that everyone else’s existence is of no importance, they become a blur a number not an individual. Ttukseom swallows up his time, or his depression or he literally means he spends the whole night at Ttukseom. Then he says he wants to be free; free from freedom. I can relate with this line somewhat. Freedom is no doubt a privilege considering many people around the world still haven’t been granted something I probably take for granted for, but with freedom comes responsibility and other problems if that makes sense? Kind of the same concept as how having your basic needs met is extremely important but other than that material goods most of the time will not grant you more happiness. With freedom, the expectations in life get overwhelming easily. Namjoon wants to be free of this aspect of freedom. He is happy but unfortunate/ not lucky. Then the song ends with the repeated line in English, “I wish I could love myself.” Basically, Rapmon reflected on a whole slew of things that he contemplates in his mind which are shown well through the lyrics. I respect him for fitting so many concepts and deep meaningful thoughts into just shy of 4 minutes.

The solo songs are also based on the members' real life struggles (their real inner thoughts). The members wrote their own solos so please react to their songs with eng subs cuz they are extremely important in understanding what the members are trying to convey (very deep and meaningful lyrics). Actually BTS wrote most of their songs, so when you listen to BTS music you will get to know and understand them on a personal level because they basically based all their lyrics on their real live experiences. Suga's first love was the Piano, if you listen to his solo song you will understand. I cried so much when I listened to it (and OMG his mixtape is another level of emotions I cannot get over it). As for Rap Monster "I wish I could love myself" was actually him having low self esteem (based on how much hate and death threats he got during debut days). Haters talk trash about BTS and that kinda affect their thoughts and expectations of themselves.

If you go back and watch the 3rd one which was STIGMA, The guyin the end asked for a phone call in the end scene, and I think it relates to that phone booth.. But you'd have to watch the musicvideo "I Need U" where this whole story line started cuz u kinda started in the middle to end of this story lol. It's really important to read the lyrics to all of the songs these short films have a basis in. I personally like to link Reflection's and Begin's bird as the burden of others. Which as BTS's leader RM has to bear on himself. Meanwhile, JK's song Begin, talks about the only troubles are his memeber's burden. (Bird=Buden)

-There are speculations of Jungkook (first short film) dying from a car crash within the Run mv. -That video also shows Suga and Jungkook fighting. Based on the lyrics "Would I be different, if I had chosen a different path, if I had stopped and looked back," maybe Suga has some kind of influence in his death through that conflict. There's obvious guilt; his pairing in the HYYH series IS with Jungkook. -Suga's solo song, "First Love", describes his experience discovering music and how it healed him throughout his life. He also produced a track titled "The Last", revealing his struggles and depression on his road to being an idol. Music could be considered his lifesaver.

I know I'm late but I don't think anyone ever explained how Jungkook (Beginning) and Suga (First love) played lovers in their previous song. Maybe not even lovers but that's what everyone thought. In beginning Jungkook is holding a distorted picture of Yoongi. Then you hear a noise that resembles a crash and Sugas picture starts to bleed. In First love you can hear the same whistling as beginning that leads Suga to the road. I'm not sure exactly but many people theorised that one of them was dead. Possibly Jungkook as Sugas movie is called first love.

Reflection MV: At the start of the passage from the book Demian by Hermann Hesse, I think out of all passages (not that I have read it myself yet) I think they chose this one because it reflects what the world of an adult is like. As an adult, you begin to experience so much more travesty, people with anger, death etc. I feel like Namjoon is trying to show what it is like when you first enter adulthood. Okay then it goes to show a freight box/car and it has a reflection. I looked up to see if it has any symbolism, but there wasn’t so I am going to just give it a guess on my behalf. I think it could symbolize a life, because as a freight car it travels throughout the world (mmmaybe it also could symbolize Ttukseom since you have to get there by subway not exactly a train but close to it and probably done that way for aesthetic purposes) , almost like a vessel of sorts it carries certain things within it but then also let’s go of them in the end. This is completely off topic but before I forgot I wanted to quickly address the tattoo on his left(?) arm it is: “B0612+RMS” after doing some quick research I think it is BTS’s debut date + RapMonSter. The bird that jungkook mailed to Rm I think symbolizes the freedom of adult hood, meaning that jungkook is now an adult like the rest of bts. However, when Rapmon sees the picture of the bird he looks exasperated or generally unhappy to see it. Then the scene flashes to a red eerie sky with scraggly trees and the bird flies quickly through it; I think this is showing an adult going through the horrible parts of the world, dealing with money and job troubles, death of family and friends etc. Things you get exposed to more as an adult. Then Rapmon starts to tattoo the drawing of the bird on to his arm, and the it flashes to the drawing, to me it actually looks likes the bird is rising out of the darkness below it, so I think he is tattooing it to remember all the hard times he went/is going through as an adult but wants a reminder that he will or has risen out of it. He then burns the picture probably because he has the permanent reminder on his arm now. This could also symbolize how he burns the memories of having to come out of the hell of young adulthood, he has the reminder of the lessons he learned on his arm but he will no longer let it haunt him constantly and puts it behind him and in the past. Then like I mention very briefly earlier Rapmon puts then burnt paper into some kind of liquid and drinks it. When he drank it, it think it is can be seen in both a literal and metaphorical sense. Metaphorically he is drinking the horrible memories he formed from young adulthood/ late childhood and when he consumes it the memories invoke such a powerful stimulus he passes out/ heavily intoxicated with his emotions. But this in a literal sense could be showing how as an adult Rapmon has taken to drinking alcohol to deal with his problems as unfortunately many others do. Also in many of the other bts mv’s you can see Rapmon often drinking alcoholic beverages especially in the BST mv when he drinks the Absinthe that can make you hallucinate, and he also gives the Absinthe to Jungkook in the Japanese BST mv too. Then the video shows in hangul from their song No More Dream (their debut song): “What do you see in the mirror right now?” He is asking himself what kind of person has he become after becoming an adult. He is wondering if this is the kind of person he wants to be in his life. Then you can hear a phone beeping in the background which is known as the busy tone/indicator for the person calling, which indicates whoever he was calling either blocked his number or was busy talking with another person. To sum it up Rapmonster is having trouble communicating with others after he consumed the drink, which also makes sense because he looks passed out too/unconscious. While hearing the busy tone of the phone in the background, visually you can see colors seeping out of his tattoo of the bird and traveling up his body. I see this as him thinking, or maybe dreaming of the colors of his life/memories or just life in general. Possibly thinking of all the good times, he had despite his ever-recurring fear of adulthood, and life in general. He then opens his eyes wide, maybe snapping out of his memories, realizing what he wants in life, then his reality shatters, his continuous thoughts of what his reflection is now broken. He knows that for now he just needs to survive, and get through his hardships whatever they maybe. He then stands up, still faced with so many reflections he sees himself as.

Yes, the bird that he tattooed on himself is the same bird painting that jungkook received in the envelope in the first short film. I don't know if this has any connection but in the first one, there was a painting of V with the splashes of color, similar to the colors that spread up rap monsters arm. Also, the phone call in the phone booth is coming from V (3rd short film). And I don't really have a connection with this one but I noticed that the phone booth said the word "war" on it

They are all interconnected. I think you guys missed out just a touch because you either haven't watched the videos that come before this or haven't realized they are connected. The order should be "I Need U" (19+ Original), "On Stage Prologue", "Run", "Young Forever: Epilogue" and then the short films and the last 2 would be Blood Sweat and Tears Korean and Japanese. If you watch the videos in order you will actually notice that the members are paired in every video with one being alone. Jungkook (Begin) and Suga (First Love) followed by V (Stigma) and Rapmonster (Reflection) followed by Jimin (Lie) and J-hope (Mama) with Jin (Awake) being alone. These themes carry throughout the series. All of the shortfilms have aspects from each members theme but they really coincide with the pairs. For example: V in Stigma asked for a phone call and Rapmonster in Reflection received one but was unable to answer. I think you guys should watch the music videos in succession and youll see a lot more connections and the story will start to make a little more sense!!
