Just FYI, many large city/suburbs have "Express" busses that only make 1 or 2 stops between distance suburbs and downtown areas.

@@edselbester What city is this ? New York, Chicago, DC, Dallas, Denver, Atlanta, Boston, pretty much the all of the northern portion of Virginia and all of the states of Maryland & New Jersey have commuter bus service

@@crystalmeth9082 Yes that is the case but they dont have commuter rail, they have regional rail systems. Commuter rail systems typically have limited hours and are not a robust as regional rail.

I suggest to look at bus routes that run near the train stations and giving them stops right outside the stations so that passengers can transfer. This exists at almost every railway station in real life. Also I’d replace some of the medium stations with the smaller ones, particularly the stop between Les Deux Lacs and Downtown Bixton. I feel like the small station is very underused and has potential as a great suburban stop.

It is cool that you are one of the rare big Cities Skylines content creators that makes huge cities in realistic scales to real life. Or at least in C:S2 most creators don't do that, but that's what makes Bixton really interesting, because it is pretty huge and dense for the game's standards. Maybe you should fill in some empty areas with really sparce housing, farming and industry? That would make it even more realistic, because for now there's just voids in between and around the urban areas 😅

Great stuff! But FYI cargo and passenger trains in Europe do use the same tracks all the time. Its only in a few HST lines, like the french LGVs, that they don't do that.

Tim, I am from Sochi, Russia, and I live in this city where there is one railway two-lane road that serves the entire coastline for both passenger and goods trains. We have quite developed railway logistics in the country. Have a look on the map if you are interested.

If there are 124 people on a train with a capacity of 840 that dose not mean you need to add more trains. Turns out it actually causes more traffic, not of people, but of trains. so you do not need to sperate the fright trains from the passenger trains, and you didn't need to add the third rail yard ether. but I still do like your content a lot keep it up Timeister!

I think you need to make the stations more accessible to pedestrians like adding pedestrian overbridges and stuff to get to the stations

Nice planning! Maybe try avoiding mass neighbourhood destruction, it throws me off every time I see it in gameplays, because there would def be protests against it irl (which of course is totally reasonable). I wouldn't live in a city that could just tear apart my house, whether for a highway or a railway. Good job generally tho

27:20 I thinl problem with that station is that you used Anarchy and Move It on it. Those mods have known bugs when it comes to networks.

Im not sure how realistic this game simulates it, but putting commuter stations on Intercity lines with no express track or bypass is a terrible idea and it can make shambles of an intercity service by creating major delays from the train getting stuck behind the slower commuter trains that are constantly stopping, its especially bad if they are frequent commuter trains Best example is Dublin, Ireland The DART metropolitan railway shares the same line as the Rosslare and Belfast lines, plus commuter services also use the line to Drogheda and Bray but there's no express tracks or bypasses so intercity trains and normal commuter trains are horrendously slow

Nice idea but grand bridge is like for a smaller span of water. If he would use it he would need to raise the bridge, and then the legs look weird with half being concrete

Try not to build your railways roughly no more than 2% terrain up or down u can go slightly above if u have no choice

Why would you have to have so many stops on a bus going from the suburbs to downtown and it wouldnt take a few hours. Many major cities have express buses and commuter buses.
