Alfred Munkenbeck Not really. It’s not as fun as it once was, but it is still a go to watch in my collection. I’ve worn it with casual and formal outfits and it looks good. I’d still recommend it at the right price.

I just totally do not live a dress watch lifestyle, if I bought it I'm worried I'd just crouch over it like golum in the dark and never actually wear it outside.

"Fuyu-geshki" is a little closer to the correct Japanese pronunciation (the first "i" in geshiki is almost silent), but no matter what you call it, it's stunning.The original cocktail time always had one of the most impressive dials I've seen, but I think the snowflake tops it. The height on the Presage versions always was the biggest turn off to me. 13mm was already pushing it for a dress watch.

Those particular Presage Cocktails are only thicker because they're the Power Reserve varitents, the 3-hand Pressage Cocktails are thinner than the original SARB065

I just got the fuyugeshki without the power reserve. I love the look of the snowflake dial. Just stunning, especially with the blue seconds hand to give it some contrast.

I bought one of the original re-releases of these for sub 300 about a year ago. Couldn't believe it when it came in, it is spectacular. Put it on an extra metal band I had from the SARB035 (bought mine on Strapcode Jubilee) which isn't a perfect fit but works and it is one of the nicest watches I have seen with that combo.

I actually bought my Step Dad the Presage that looks exactly like the SARB065! I loved it so much and then a couple months ago i saw how it looks on that ostrich strap so i went back to get my self the same one but they only had a Blue dial varient. It looks nice on a dark brown leather strap but i still like the almost light lavender baby blue color

Not really a comparison video, but a watch line showcase. You showcased several of the variations in your collection. You should have told us what other variations Seiko has outside your collection. It is always tough to choose a watch over the original that you first fell in love with. I personally love the gold tone cocktail time variation. IMO, as a dress watch, gold is the metal to wear. Silver is more a sporty/casual metal (in general, not all the time).

I have a SARBO65 and really like the simple elegance of it. However I'm so used to sapphire crystals that I did scratch the crystal on my SARBO65. I wish they had used a more scratch resistant crystal.

As a proud owner of ssa361 starlight, I have to say it's hands down the best among the cocktail time series, or dare I say, among all the midrange seiko. Dial wise, it slaughters every other watch with the right lighting

I just bought the presage in rose gold last weekend. One thing that I found annoying is the deployment part of the band. When it’s folded and on my wrist, the hinge digs into my skin. Anybody having this issue?

So, Jory, I bought a couple of cocktail times a year ago because I was amazed at your review of the SARB065, I got the Presage SSA345J1 (black dial on steel, power reserve, date dial) and the Presage SRBP46J1 (chocolate dial on rose gold, date window), and I love them both. From this video you seem to suggest that the new cocktail times have a power reserve + date dial instead of the date window, and while that might be true for the 2 you have, it is not true for all of them, in fact for every watch like yours there's a similarly coloured dial one without the indicator and the date dial, but with the classical date window (the 2 I own are an example of this, and there's definitely a version with a date window of your limited edition one). Apart from that I love the video, and I am really tempted to buy the oxblood one from Basel 2019, even if maybe I should stay clear of dark-dial dress watches since I already have the 2 aforementioned cocktail-times, a third one might be too much.

Great watches. But the width when you wear them dressy is why I went Hamilton Jazzmaster which is thinner and an 80hr wind. But the dials are what make these Seikos.

What impresses me the most about this watch series is that the name itself says "cocktail". Is not necessarily a dress watch, can be elegant but should be playful as well, not serious. That's why is not that small I believe... Because Seiko had very clear the inspiration that would reflect with the design. Gorgeous TBH. I want it to be my first automatic. I started with a Citizen Diver Eco-Drive Quartz and 2 G-Shocks. I'm waiting to add this to the collection soon...!

Apparently the 4R57A for the Presage has an accuracy of -35 to +45 seconds per day Accuracy which is apparently very bad. I'm pretty new to watches and seeing that it's off by half a minute everyday seems pretty bad? What are your thoughts?

I was walking by a store few weeks ago and saw the woman's 34mm Presages. I never tried anything below 36mm and kinda didn't consider that size at all thinking it was too small. As soon as I tried the rose gold one (SARY028 or SRP852) i just had to buy it even though it was around $550 which is a bit overpriced. I tried SARY082 afterwards but it was just huge in comparison. Almost all my watches are 38mm, but this 34mm one is so damn good. It was hard enough to find nice affordable watches in 36-38mm range, but 34mm looks impossible...

Fuyugeshiki by miles. The dial is a killer. All are great and awesome. But fuyugeshiki texture on the dial... I wonder why they put it in seiko, not the grand seiko. It's on another level. It miles better than any of rolex dial. I personally own the fuyugeshiki. Love it

it's amazing how the human eye can in fact see .5 mm of difference in diameter. A 2.52% increase in area (I know that the proportion of the case and dial play a major role). I Really would like to have a wider selection of 36-38 mm dressy watches. I some times like to include a little touch of sport/fun in my dress watches.

Rose Gold, at the Seiko price points, makes me nervous. Obviously, it has to be plated. Personally, I would rather have SOLID stainless steel than plated gold of any hue. Over time, that plating wears off and that looks horrible. In the shorter term, depending on the way it is done...it might turn your wrist green.
