Yes, but I can almost bet the child will find the most magic with playing in empty boxes and watching moving clouds in the sky above the castles he will see. Children find wonder in the little things so while Disney might be this child's home he will probably find the most amazement in the little things we take for granted as equally fun in the every day. I think the best thing this baby will have is all the time with his loving parents.

Tiffy... so did I. Back in 1986 and 1989, (before the internet was born) I had no way to research it, but was told that if I donated my cord blood to "Science" it would further the research and possibly that research would help millions of (future) babies, so I was happy to donate. *Wait: does that make me "Cord Blood O.G."? LOL! *I prayed and blessed the blood - that it would help as many babies as possible, via the research it would provide. *Happy to help, to be honest.

We did this, too, with both our girls. It was a little less time with our oldest but still glad for what she got. Babies are born with so much blood still in circulation through the cord that it is better to wait and let them get as much back as possible, barring any serious complications!

We do delayed clamping. 💚
@kevincunningham4895 жыл бұрын
It's common practice these days to delay cutting the cord at least until after the 1 minute mark unless the baby is not crying or active. And you're all right...it's a good thing.
@hayleyc15465 жыл бұрын
At any time (including at birth) one third of baby's blood is in the placenta and umbilical cord. If you clamp the cord too soon, baby never gets that blood back. It is so beneficial for them to have delayed cord clamping (infact they changed the name to optimal cord clamping) so that they have their full blood volume from birth. Please look into this so that you can make the best decision that feels right for your family. You can still have delayed cord clamping for a couple of minutes even with a cesarean.

Jen, I have had 2 csections. The first I was almost 42 weeks. I labored for 19hrs, they ended up giving me pitocin which only made contractions worse but stalled my dilation. I ended up having an emergency csection and my recovery was awful!! I literally could not stand up straight or walk for 5 days. the second one was planned and it was so smooth and right after when i wasnt numb anymore i was walking and took a shower standing and just felt so good and ready to do anything. my recovery was so fast no problems. If youre going to have 1 I would have it planned instead of needing one after you are wore out and baby could be in danger. i am so excited for your boy to be here and you two to experience parenthood and raising him!!!!! cant wait for more HOME VLOOOOOOOOOGS!!!
@laurenrosenblatt80065 жыл бұрын
I’m a mother/baby nurse and would love to help with any questions you guys have! My husband and I love your videos. Our hospital practices delayed cord clamping as much as possible and I would recommend doing that and not saving cord blood. As someone pointed out, the cord blood could have properties that caused the initial disease in the first place and the odds of needing it are low and you’ll be paying for it forever and then when he becomes an adult who knows if he will want to continue to pay for it. (I know if I was in college/ a young adult and on a budget I definitely would not) If you have a low lying placenta I think a c-section would be ideal. For your c section recovery- try to get up and move as early as you can, it will hurt but it will hurt less than if you stay in bed. Because it’s an abdominal surgery you will build up gas and gas pains are sometimes more painful than the incision or anything else. As long as pain medication doesn’t make you feel out of it or nauseous take it when it’s offered so that you will feel the most comfortable getting up and moving. Good luck! 💕

I had the same condition as you with the placenta. If anything at all seems off go get checked quickly...there is no need to second guess yourself (a mistake I regret, but lived and learned through...learn from me not the hard way like me)... Next. Use a pillow to press against the incision during that first week or two after the c section... when you go from sitting to standing, laying to sitting up, coughing, sneezing, etc. It helps tremendously for some reason. 😉 Deep breaths, it's all going to be okay. You have fantastic doctor's caring for you. 🙌 And the biggest support system I've ever seen! Thanks for the baby updates. Prayers, thoughts, and good vibes. You will be awesome parents!

I’m still going to ride the skyliner, but I imagine if I was already nervous about it and then heard about this incident I would also be afraid to ride it.

Yvonne Kass yeah I know. I meant when it reopens haha (it seems to be the consensus in the community that it will reopen at some point)

The first thing I thought when I saw the skyliner went down was “Please don’t let Tim and Jenn be on there”

We didn’t do it when my daughter was born. It was a lot of money back then but it was a brand new thing almost 17 years ago.

Hey Jenn! I had an unplanned csection a month early with my little girl last December. I’m sure you’ll hear a bunch of different stories, but I’m here to tell you I had a GREAT experience!! My recovery was honestly really good!! Couple tips: don’t try to be a hero. You might feel nauseous from the pain meds right after your csection, when they offer you Zofran- take it! You’ll feel 110% better in just a couple minutes. Make sure you take the pain meds on the schedule they tell you and drink a ton of water! I also put a scoop of powdered collagen in my tea/coffee/smoothies when I could (my baby spent 11 days in the NICU). I would recommend starting the collagen as soon as you could now and then continuing after your surgery, it REALLY helps heal you from within!! Also, I would recommend delayed cord clamping instead of the blood bank, that way your baby gets all those benefits now! I’m so excited for you guys! Everything will go great. 😊

I think a precious name for baby would be Jim. Just like Tim but using the J from Jenn❤

Your videos bring such joy to my day. Jenn, my twins girls were born at 32 weeks 4 days via c section. There was a discussion similar to what you are going through with what is the best choice of when to take the baby out in order to be safe and in what way to do so. If you have any questions about a c section I would love to answer them. Also I want to say be very clear about your wants and needs during the c section. It is a vulnerable time and you can't move so tell the dr's ahead of time if you want the baby placed on you after rather than cleaned off first, ask if he will be in the room with you throughout the whole thing or if he will be taken away to be evaluated. Make a plan with Tim of if he will stay with you or go with the baby if separated. Ask about recovery, when can you see and hold the baby. Visit the hospital to see the rooms because they might be different than a regular birth.

If there's ever a need for a miracle cure, you're best bet is to have it and not need than the other way around.

I had two c-sections when I had my children. The first was an emergency c-section in which I was put to sleep and woke up with a baby. That felt a bit weird but the second was a scheduled c-section. I was more nervous on the second one because I was fully awake for the experience. Don't worry you will do just fine and you will be amazing parents. As to names; we hard a hard time choosing middle names rather than first names.

Catherine Fogle same for me! Isn’t is weird when you wake up and show you your baby. I felt like, ok, because how do you know it’s yours??? Then I was awake for twins which was weird too! Congrats to you!

You can also look into donating the cord blood. As for the cooler bag, if Jenn plans to nurse, don't even bother with it! It's so easy to find a spot to nurse (a change room, the car, etc). It can be a bit nerve wracking to do the first few times, but after figuring it out it's no big deal! Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

We did cord blood for my daughter 15 years ago, every year I pay my yearly fee. I'm very happy we did it, 15 years later. Viacord was the company we went with.

Marianne Ehmer, just wondering, why you are glad you did?
@marianneehmer64105 жыл бұрын
Erikk Friberg it's basically peace of mind that medically we saved what helped her grow and that blood cord could one day help her, and if we never need it Amen that we don't.
@marianneehmer64105 жыл бұрын
Timothy Wolleck even if there is a small chance it's worth the sacrifice. Medicine is changing everyday, I just feel very happy with my decision 15 years ago, Also there were only 2 companies at the time we did it and viacord was the better option with payments for us. I'm sure there are much more choices now.
