In today's vlog we head to the Florida State Fair Grounds for the Florida RV Super Show! Thank you to Ryan and Lauren Miller from MillersInMotion youtube channel (linked below!) for inviting us to join them at the show and thank you to Alliance RVs for providing us with passes for the show! We walked the show floor and saw so many different styles of RVs, 5th wheels and motor coaches! We were definitely shopping on this trip and trying to find the perfect fit for our family. We also checked out all the toilets to see which ones had the most space! It was a super fun day and we hope you purchase an RV in the future! We hope you had fun hanging out with us today and we'll see you tomorrow with a new vid!

Tim is so excited 😂 he’s like a kid in a candy store. I love looking at RVs. Would love to live in a van and visit every state. The retro campers are super cute. Park models are more like mobile homes. You would have it stationary either on your own ground or in a mobile home or tv park. It would be a permanent structure.

Our family had a two bedroom, two bathroom travel trailer. We camped seasonally for five years while the kids were growing up. It was a great way for them to get outside and play with other kids. They were always on their bikes and scooters and running around the campground. I think it’s a great way for kids to grow up. When we moved to Fla, we sold it, but still miss camping. We go to Ft. Wilderness and rent occasionally.

I grew up RVing in a class A to Fort Wilderness and my parents took us all over the US. Great memories. We got to see things we learned about in school. My husband and I had a class C when our kids were little and a couple of years ago we got a small fifth wheel. I have it all decorated with Disney items. Took it to the Fort in July and had a blast. Each type of RV has its pros/cons. They need maintenance almost all the time. There is lots involved, but if you’re handy, then that will help a lot. You also need to check and see if your neighborhood allows you to keep it in your driveway. Many neighborhoods do not allow it so you have to pay for storage each month. We love our Keystone Cougar fifth wheel. It’s a 29 RLI model. It has plenty of room inside but it’s not too big. If you plan to take the RV to national parks and do trips there, it is helpful to know that their campgrounds do not always accommodate larger RVs. Happy to answer any questions you may have. There are lots of great KZbin channels out there as well with helpful information. Do it while your kids are young. Once they hit the upper grades in school, it’s going to be very hard to take them out of school to enjoy the RV. Good luck.

Y'all are honestly doing it the best way. Renting when you need it. The initial cost, then massive depreciation, mantinance, storage costs, and really if we're honest not having the correct tow vehicle. If you really have to do it, maybe a pre-owned unit? Let that 1st guy take the depreciation hit? 🤷‍♂️

You are going to have to get a rv. We have a 5th wheel. We could live in it. We love our Fort wilderness campground vacations. We really only use it 2 weeks out of the year for our Disney trip, but I love having it. Also, if you have family coming to visit, we put them in the rv. It is nicer than a hotel. Just get one! You won't regret it, I promise. Except when it comes to our HOA. We have to store it until we use it. When family comes we have to do a KOA...

Something to consider are your HOA rules. It's a nice convenience to park the RV at the house for a night or 2 for doing maintenance, loading, and unloading. Some HOA's aren't RV friendly, and transporting supplies back and forth to the RV storage lot can be annoying. Also, it's nice if your RV can fit in your driveway and not have to worry about it parked on the street.

Just keep in mind that most RVs are not considered safe for carseated passengers. Many CPSTs (Certified Passenger Safety Technicians) will recommend towing a trailer and every one in a passenger vehicle, or take your passenger vehicle with the children and someone else drives the RV.

I just bought an RV. I spent months, actually over two years, watching RV videos, researching the cost versus benefit of features, looking for tips, the best associated products, etc. I made several decisions along the way, such as deciding on a fifth wheel, then changing my mind and wanting a bumper pull, then, Oh what the hell, let's go for broke and get a Class A Motorcoach! Finally, my wife and I went into a dealership in January 2024 and discovered they were marking down their supply of 2023 models in a Clearance Sale. We bought, same day, a travel trailer that we had never seen, read about, or researched, before. It was made by a favorite manufacturer, Grand Design, but we had never even considered the model line we finally purchased! So much for all that work.

How much room do you need to poop Tim? Lol… definitely go to as many shows as you can and find the manufacturer and style you typically like, plus of course what your vehicle is capable of towing. It may just be more beneficial to rent an RV occasionally than go all in on buying. As you mentioned, if the cost of owning one won’t be less than just renting then you won’t really get the best bang for your buck. Plus if you like a bigger than 27’ you will need a heavy dutier vehicle. We use our RV as guest space at our home, so while we don’t travel with it as much it has gotten good use. There are definitely more expenses cuz they don’t come with all the black/gray water hoses, chocks, and some don’t have back up cameras which is a worth while investment. I watch “keep your daydream” channel and it helped me so much in our RV journey. We have a 27’ primetime avenger bunkhouse and the bunks are too claustrophobic in my opinion but my son loves them. We may do a 5th wheel next time maybe, my husband really wants a toy hauler for the toys we don’t have 🤦🏻‍♀️ loved the video, I love going to RV shows, so fun to see them all

To expand outside of Fort Wilderness as well there are some other nice campgrounds around the Orlando and Florida area. State Parks, County Parks and even some city parks like Bill Frederick have some decent to amazing campgrounds for affordable rates like $15-30 a night, outside of that for slightly higher rates there are some good KOAs and other campgrounds that have fun activities for the kids that you guys might enjoy but I understand Fort Wilderness is also pretty amazing!!

This is a fun video to watch....when i was a kid, we would tent camp in Fort Wilderness (that was an adventure...lots of great memories). We took our kids tent camping, and I won a Class C motorhome (Jayco Redhawk). I found a raffle in Nevada (we flew out to pick it up) and had been entering for 3 years and won the 3rd year on the 3rd ticket (we bought the 3 pack on year 3). Never hurts to try and it went to a great cause.

You are making a huge mistake pulling a camper with an electric truck, it will not work unless you only want to travel 50-75 miles and change again. This has been proven by multiple people and if it gets cold cut that range down by 50%. Don't put your family in a dangerous situation get a real truck that designed to pull a camper not a battery powered toy truck, stay off the highways!

So exciting looking for your 1st RV, we have had 4 over the last 20 years. Know going in that they all have their issues, water leaks etc. The ones built since covid have had more problems than ever before. Seems the absence of quality control at the factory and most dealers don't offer good service anymore. Do your homework and read reviews of both the brands and the dealers. Many people have had their rigs sitting in the shop for months waiting to be "fixed" only to find out that they still have many issues. Many brands have facebook groups too where you can get a lot of info before you purchase.

And Im sorry, Loo in the shower, reminds me of Paris public loos that hid the loo paper, do a complete washdown between patrons and then you go in and have a wet loo, (okay dried loo paper) and end up squatting above it anyway so you not wet leaving. Forget about the time it takes for the clean downs. Never underestimate the importance of a proper functioning bathroom!! Im on Tim's side

I didn’t read all the comments on this so not sure if anyone suggested but you should look into using the RV you buy as an AirBNB to make your money back and then for what you spent on buying it. Just a suggestion since you said you wouldn’t be using it all the time and you are in a Prime Location to do that!

My family and I had a small airstream for a few years and we loved it! We took a long road trip for 3 weeks in it and it was so much fun! Highly recommend airstreams!!

I can't believe your Rivian couldn't tow a fifth wheel. I think this guy is crazy for saying you need a whole new vehicle?

I’ve been watching your videos for maybe a year already and I never noticed I wasn’t subscribed 😢. I love your videos and it makes me excited to take my little one to Disney when she’s a year or so🤍

Having flashbacks - does anyone else remember the MTV show Road Rules? They had like 5-6 people in one of those mini campers! Crazy

I mean there is no chance you can’t fit in all these bathrooms You can fit You are greatly over exaggerating how tall you are lol These are billion dollar companies They don’t make bathrooms where anyone over 6’1 cant physically fit inside them You showed your true colors at the one bathroom where you said twice “I actually can’t get in here Like actually I can’t physically get in” And then two seconds later “oh if I just slide sideways I can get in” Haha You had it in for the size of the bathrooms They are definitely small But you could fit in every bathroom you saw in this video Trust me You aren’t that tall bro

When you and the family rent an RV for Ft Wilderness, who are you using? While we have an RV already its an older one that we have not gone beyond Indiana with.
