As someone who still doesn’t understand how a Show in the 60’s was able to both make and act inside the suit of Pestar, I’d like to know. 🍔

Note: I watched The episode “Why must I be a crustacean in Love” - Futurama, and after I finish this episode about Zoidberg, an alien Sea creature, I’ll watch a video about the history of a Giant “Alien” Starfish, what a Weird coincidence.

Now that I’ve found out how Pestar was conceived and How the 2 guys who acted Pestar even did it, I’m pretty happy that this bat faced Starfish has a mildly interesting history

14:14 it's the best place to see Pestar actually kick some ass too, dude was majorly buffed both as an opponent and a playable character. He even has a unique counter move where when you knock him down, he breathes fire while he gets back up I guess suit actors are the only thing keeping Pestar from lasting more than 30 seconds in a fight against an Ultraman

One thing I always found amusing about Pestar is that some monsters have every origin in the book like a monster will be a demon from outer space that got mutated from the atom bomb, and still look like Godzilla or a typical alien but you have two starfish stuck together with a bat head or a crab head that feeds on oil, and breaths fire, and they act like it's something found in nature that we just never knew about until now.

You do have a point My headcanon is that the creature has a similar role to legendary godzilla as it is kind of a force of nature that feeds on pollution to protect the earth but in a more harmful than legendary goji

Honestly one of the most fascinatingly bizarre designs for a kaiju. Multi-actor suits are always a point of fascinating but to see one thats just essential two giant starfishes conjoined with a bathead is wacky

Pestar is one of the obscure Kaiju from original Ultraman series, i love super unique design on Pestar 🤩! Pestar also appeared as stock-footage in “War of the God Monsters”. Although, I don’t know if you can really call that creature “Pestar”, as all of the featured monsters (most of them being stock-footage of other Ultra Kaiju) are all stated to just be dinosaurs that have all spontaneously come back to life. It was a weird movie.

I picked up that same Pestar figure recently too as well. I really like this monster a lot. I realize it just doesn't work very well as a suit in a physical battle with Ultraman though. Works far better in the manga. Props to the suit actors though in their episode. With all the water shots and explosions and fire that were happening around them...that is comparable to Godzilla's suit actor walking through MechaGodzilla's onslaught in Terror of MechaGodzilla.

Ah Pestar, such an interesting weirdo. Sadly that unique design must make him an absolutly nightmarish one to do, since the two suit actors have to coordinate so well. Perhaps some day we'll get the Pestar fight we all know he's got in him. And now you've got me wanting to see something for Oil Drinker. It can be a short. I don't think he stuck around long.

The way the suit works probably made it hard to have any fight scenes. Ultraman dyna and Ultraman blazar had a starfish like kaiju as well

I kind of like powered Pestar. He's a freaky shambling sea creature. Bat head Pestar kind of looks like he's drowning whenever he's in the water. I got introduced to this monster in the weirdest way. There’s this Korean Kaiju knock-off film called War of the God Monsters that used a lot of stock footage of monsters from various Ultraman series, and Pestar was one of them. You might consider doing a video on the film someday. Trust me, it’s a doozy!

Hey professor you forgot to mention that pestar stared in a non Ultraman movie. It's a lost Kaiju movie from Korea called war of the god monsters and it only has pestar but some other Ultraman monsters in stock footage of course. Yes it's a cheap movie that uses stock footage from the Ultraman shows to tell a story of monsters attack city. If you want to know about more go check some info about it.

As a child watching this I didn't think too much about the fight because honestly Ultraman showed up and zapped the monster. Nothing else mattered. Plus Pestar was a big and some what clunky monster. What kind of a good fight would they really have? Ultraman wasn't about the best fight in 1966. Pestar is still one of my favorite monsters because of it's unique design.
