It’s funny how accurate that is. I’ve got a 14’ Mazda 3 and an 06’ 330xi. The Mazda’s fuel economy drops hard after about 65-70 MPH. The 330xi at 80 feels like it’s ready to pounce. Even spinning at almost 3k rpms at 80 in the 330xi (manual), I still can easily get 30 mpg. Both great cars, but the hum of the I6 and the steering in the 330xi always makes me think about it when I’m in the Mazda.

In person, it is very impressive. It’s a bmw so the driving experience and performance is the selling point. You gotta consider the performance you’re getting. Think of the Nissan GT-R, a $100k+ car with a very mediocre interior. With both cars, you’re getting what you’re paying for, it’s just WHERE your money is going into the car.

My first bimmer (E90 335i LCI) at first I was like, “Other than the leather and engine, is this even a step up from my 17’ Elantra?”, but the it QUICKLY grew on me and I became obsessed with it. To this day it’s my favorite car I’ve owned (only 3). Now I drive an F22 M235i, same story, every time I drive that car I fall deeper in love and realize why I drive BMWs. I convinced my dad to buy his very first BMW (17’ X5). My dad has owned at least 30 cars (ex. Mk4 Supra back in the 90’s, a couple of Nissan S30s, C5 Vette, the list goes on), at first he wasn’t blown away-he wasn’t disappointed, but I had kinda hyped up bimmers before he bought his. A couple of months later, he says it’s his favorite car he’s owned! That just with an X5 35i, imagine if he had a bimmer sports car!

This is an amazing car! I know that the styling of BMWs of old have been relatively conservative but in my opinion, that is what I loved about BMW because they priortized BOTH function and form. However, it seems that BMW has lost its way with the advent of electric vehicles and are struggling to create a new identity for themselves. I don't know why BMW is trying so hard to reinvent themselves, because that classic look is what attracted to many people to the brand in the first place. With that being said, the M440i I think is the best modern interpretation of the new larger grille because its filled out more and looks more visually pleasing as opposed to gapping hole in the M3/M4. This M5 is the pinnacle of BMW design and I am sure many people agree with me.

Its logical, there is less weight higher so the center of gravity is lower (more weight in the bottom of the car in relation to the weight in the roof). Bottom/standard roof < bottom/carbon roof
