Impressive SUV for sure, and it’s easy to see why they move tons of these things. I’m happy they exercised some restraint in terms of styling (at least relative to the X7), but it’s also nice to see they’ve evolved the interior design a bit. While I appreciate the overall athletic bent of the X5 relative to some of the competition, the tech is starting to strike me as overboard and excessively complicated. I doubt I’d use half the features of that infotainment system tbh. I’d probably be more drawn to something like the GV80 in this segment personally, but it’s hard to go wrong with an X5.

Just ordered my 2021 last week to replace my Audi S4 as a daily. Mine is fully loaded except for the $1700 package that has traffic jam assistive driving stuff, and it's 78k before destination. They removed some options for 2021 that you were previously able to get in the 2020 you're reviewing here - so just be aware that if you order one new right now, it won't be 83k because you can't get as many options. For example they removed acoustic glass, and they removed heated/cooled cupholders for 2021. Auto start stop button is now removed as well, but it can be overridden by Sport mode, or if you like to customize steering, etc. you can do Sport Individual and it will still turn off the ASS system. Then code the car to always start in sport mode.

I dislike how BMW mixes different options and trims available on their models. There is also a couple of options they deleted and are no longer available at all across the board e.g. the night vision camera. On the M50i, you can't get ventilated seats anymore. You also can't get remote start. Whereas these things are available on the 40i. Additionally, a third row option is only available in the inline 6 model and not on the M50i and X5M. etc etc etc It makes for a confusing shopping experience. And forces you to make some tough decisions. Do you want a powerful engine in the way of the v8? Or do you prefer a more livable inline 6? But what if you want a v8 AND some of the options I mentioned? For my money, I'll take the 40i with the executive package + 3rd row seating, and just get a vivid racing stage 1 tune. That should bring the power up closer to the M50i without going bonkers with the full on X5M. And I'll get features not available upstream. Kinda seems backwards doesn't it?

people that buy these outdated toyota/lexus products think that every other car is super unreliable but in reality they are missing out on so much good stuff the Germans offer you in terms of performance, tech and luxury

@@kristians2704 🤣😂🤣😂Tell that to Scotty Kilmer
@kristians27043 жыл бұрын
@@daniellanzotti2391 Scotty Kilmer is stupid, he thinks that reliability is the only thing people care about when buying a new car. If you’re buying used then yes Lexus is a good option but with new cars most people don’t keep them for more than 3-6 years and that’s why long term reliability isn’t important

81 grand for only 335 HORSEPOWER? 😂.. coming from those 2 turbos which most likely will blow up after 70k miles. I’m disappointed bmw

Very expensive indeed, but you do get a very very good car in return.

"X5 xdrive40i" is perhaps the worst named vehicle. I'm shocked they didn't add an M on there somewhere, though I'm sure you could for another $15k

@@alh06 I’m aware, but he’s bitching about the name. Thought I’d inform him I’ve ver heard anyone call an X5 by the full name; you just say X5. Not that hard lol
@alh064 жыл бұрын
@@mattX5 I agree, the only situation where that would be different would be an M model but those are not as popular and wouldn't be referenced as much. Definitely.

85 000! Jesus these German vehicles!...its not even including the maintenance, which i would imagine your going to need a lot of when the warranty and coverage expires...
@kristians27043 жыл бұрын
where did you read that it's 85k? It's more like $70k
