Gord mouthing "G, and A minor" as one of the concert goers strums his guitar during the outro. A true original, and a genuine soul. We love ya, Gordie. Rest easy now. 😥

In the 90's I was doing some promotion work in Canada. Consequentially in my many visits over years, I was listening to Canadian radio. This group was so good. I made the assumption these songs were popular in the states - sadly not so. The states missed a great band and lyricist. Was so glad to be able to see their final concert in a border state where we get CBC. Bittersweet that this is the end of a great Canadian band.

Not lost to all Americans. Was checking out a Hip album in a record store in Vegas a few years ago. The owner walked up and started talking about how good they were and underappreciated in the US they were. Talent may not reach everyone but they made a lasting impact around the globe.

I grew up across Lake St. Clair from Ontario, so we benefited from 88.7/89X, and were exposed to many great Canadian bands, including The Hip. Was lucky I caught them at Cobo in 2000 (thanks to my future wife) 11th row main floor. Amazing show. I just regret not getting to Windsor for a viewing party of their last show.

I love the way Gord Downie who is obviously a seasoned performer can still look like he can't quite believe it himself still that he is up there on stage and pleasing masses of people
@beenjammin12267 жыл бұрын
Danielle Rose I read in an interview earlier that Gordie still feels the amazing energy everytime he walks out on stage and looks at all the people. He was saying how he wished he could switch places with all of the faces out there so they could see that (He thought so humbly) anyone could do what he does and that anything odd possible. I thought that was amazing of him. Your comment just confirms he was telling the truth. I'm going to miss this guy a lot
@colins77714 жыл бұрын
Gord was usually pretty nervous about heading on stage every time, after doing it for 30 years. As soon as the guys hit the first note though, almost every show was flawless, over 30 years. No band like the Hip. Love ya GD
