I really enjoyed this video. I looks like you may have recently painted your camper? I also love snorkeling. keep up the great videos (especially the ones with fellow travelers).

Thank you for the encouragement and input. We didn't paint the camper. Maybe just a different color dust ;)

Stay safe, I am looking forard to more of your adventures. I was laid up for a day or so. I had a heart catheter procedure and an arterial stent put in Friday 13th. (nice choice of days for that! ). Feeling great, left the hospital the same day. Now I feel more of a sense of urgency than ever to get on with life and travels!

Near the pool?! Amie!! That was pretty funny. Ahh, those social strictures. Too bad about the constraints. Too many amigos recreating in the same area perhaps. I get the reluctance to wear a life jacket, and to have to pay to rent one, but it struck me while you were talking that an inflatable vest probably wouldn't be too difficult to swim in. Totally useless information but there you have it. You're welcome, LOL.
@TheTravelingTogetherJournal6 жыл бұрын
Raven Feather, thank you for commenting on Amie's "next to the pool" activities. I was laughing at her over and over as I was editing that. And thanks for the useless information ;) I'm actually thinking I should look into lifejacket laws since we are traveling with an inflatable kayak now. inflatable lifejackets might be a good idea.
@ravenfeather70876 жыл бұрын
Where I live they're required (to have one life jacket/preserver in the watercraft for each person in the watercraft) and in reality they're not a bad idea. Even if they're not required - especially for those people who snorkle in squalls! In a kayak? I'd probably wear it a lot. For a bunch of years I worked on one of our inland seas and we were required to wear one whenever we were on the water. When it got really hot we'd sometimes dodge that and just have it on board. But when it was rough I ensured everyone on board wore one. You're probably familiar with them but if not they're light and not overly uncomfortable. You get used to them. One pull on the release and up you go, conscious or not. Replete with a blinking locator light. If you continue south and ferry on down to Antartica (now that would make a great Toyota commercial!) you'll have to get one of these. Not as comfortable as an inflatable. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKa7YoN5l9R_jZY Your Amie is a gem. And you have your moments, amigo! I enjoy your adventures. Thanks.

Thanks Raven. If it requires a survival suit, I'm probably not up for it. That's why I travel to the tropics. I am familiar with lifejackets. I am a boat captain when we aren't traveling. I do like the idea of a small inflatable lifejacket if Amie and I start using the kayak off shore at all. Safety first... or at least a close second ;)

@@TheTravelingTogetherJournal It's been a year! I lost track of you guys when you were way south. I thought I saw most of your episodes but not the case. Lots of good stuff to view. The entire pool episode was a hoot. Amie walking behind that couple and giving the thumbs up was outstanding. I'll see if I can find where you are. I'm assuming there have been some changes in locations and life conditions. Stay safe. You guys have given me a lot of entertainment and a whole new perspective on that part of the world.

great to see your dog traveling with you he looks like he enjoys the lifestyle :) - did you shoot the whole thing on your new camera? happy travels from Denmark
@TheTravelingTogetherJournal6 жыл бұрын
Jager(the dog) loves the traveling, camping lifestyle. We still weren't shooting with our new camera yet at this point. For how excited we were about it, it took us a little while to get it charged up with a new SD card and get used to shooting with it. End of next episode you will probably start seeing footage from the G7X

Traffic citations can be paid in most town and are much less expensive than paying a bribe.. Cops don't arrest people for traffic violations but hope the fear of the unknown will make tourists pay $. Also, never drive in mexico especially for vacation.
@TheTravelingTogetherJournal3 жыл бұрын
Good info William, except for the "never drive in Mexico" part. Mexico is a wonderful country to road trip through, with many areas that would be difficult to visit without your own transportation.

@TheTravelingTogetherJournal6 жыл бұрын
Yes Adriane, we moved from Hawaii and wanted to swim with the turtles in Mexico. We like turtles, but We didn't want to pay to float in a lifejacket with a guide inside of a buoyed off area. Not the experience we thought we were getting into, but things change and our information was no longer accurate. Hopefully the video helps someone else.

Don't you have paddle boards and a kayak? you should own life vests already...
@TheTravelingTogetherJournal6 жыл бұрын
We have surfboards, not paddle boards and we didn't have the kayak yet at this point... but to be fair we still don't have life vests so we still wouldn't be prepared for the dangers of snorkeling with giant turtles, so your advise still applies I guess.
