So much great content and editing! Blue Beauty could have her own channel. "This week on BBT, how I dodge trees and get up and out of sandy bottoms." Cutest turtle release ever.

Man, I hope our 10month old psycho lab becomes as Mello as Jager! Glad you were able to help release those turtles!

Haha. I think Jager was 13 years old at this point. on the plus side, there aren't many leash laws, so puppy can burn some energy 😁

I know you probably didn't think of it at the time but newbie camper/overlander type people like myself, it would have been cool to briefly examine people's DIY van conversions/cost of such and so forth. Btw...Saint Augustine really look awesome. Thanks for the uploads.

Yeah. We didn't stick with the project, but we made a couple of videos about other peoples experience traveling on the Pan American, why they did it, how they did it, and a bit about their vehicles. kzbin.info/aero/PLkHL6o9Ip6S8gRQyh26jpmiq9WkjXsDsv

So awesome to watch your episode that includes Zipolite! I have been going there for several years in the spring, and it's such a special place. So great to see video of familiar places. I practice yoga there with an amazing lady at Loma Linda. And wow so neat you were there during turtle hatching season!!! I've always wanted to be there for that. Thanks for sharing!

4-Lo You go! Go Yota! Matt's right about rafting. I live in rafting country and every few years someone dies. And then their relatives go after the rafting company. After the drownee has signed a document saying they understand that rafting is dangerous and potentially lethal. People just don't get how dangerous flowing water can be. Including my son who was a guide. But then again he's nuts. He hikes in grizzly country and stands with his toes hanging over the edges of high cliffs. Careful Matt! Don't let The Pretty lure you into danger!

Thanks for backing me up Raven. I still am nervouse about the idea of going again, but I did enjoy the rafting and it was cool to experience an activity that was new and intimidating to me, but that my wife used to do regularly before we were together.

Not a problem, Matt. Always willing and anxious to stick my nose into other people's relationships! And I have to admit I've pulled, with great difficulty, an aluminum canoe off the bottom of a local stream after hitting a boulder head-on. Probably a Grade III at the time. And at an earlier age on a dare took an 11 ft aluminum flat-bottomed fishing boat down a stretch of a larger local river that is a known killer. About four or five years ago on an even larger nearby river that my son guided on (rafts) the river took a rafter under and held him there. Pinned him up against the bottom of a boulder called The Volkswagen because of it's shape. Luckily my son wasn't working that group. Wow. This started out light-hearted but now I'm pretty somber. Sorry! You two enjoy but be careful. I enjoy your videos.

Raven Feather Amie here 😉 Those first two accident sounds like you had the wrong vessel for the situation. That last one sounds extremely unfortunate, but we can die doing anything from walking across the street, driving our car, telling the wrong person to have a good day. For us we're probably more likely to die driving in the middle of the day on the highway down here then any of the relatively controlled risks we take while white water rafting. I cringed at least once every day we drive.

@TheTravelingTogetherJournal7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for thinking of us. We didn't feel any effects from the quake. I know the current video release shows us in the area, but I am pretty far behind in my editing vs real life. We are in Honduras. If you want to be more up to date you can check out @the_traveling_together_journal on Instagram. Amie keeps us pretty current on there.

Nice, I (Amie) did live in Bend for almost 3 years before I left to spend 7 months working at surf camps as a cook. That's where I met Matt :) Did we meet or have acquaintances?
@Senaleb7 жыл бұрын
I don't think we've met. I've lived in Crooked River Ranch, then Terrebonne, then Redmond. Enjoyed your series traveling thru Mexico. I've lived all over though, North Dakota , and grew up in the Bay Area in CA.

About how much did you spend in gas on your entire trip
@TheTravelingTogetherJournal Жыл бұрын
I can't remember but this was a couple years ago so the fuel prices would have gone up since then.

@@TheTravelingTogetherJournal should I expect to spend over 1,000 usd to go from Mexico to Panama and back
@TheTravelingTogetherJournal Жыл бұрын
@@PassportPerks You could, but probably not if you are just trying to get from Mexico to Panama and back. it depends on your route and the fuel efficiency of your vehicle. I suggest using Google maps to get an idea of how many miles/kilometers you are likely to drive. Then you can work out an estimated cost based on the average price of fuel in each country and your vehicle's fuel efficiency.
