I don’t know about anyone else but I could listen to Travis read tax code. Just one of the best story telling voices I’ve ever heard. Calming, peaceful, what some world refer to as unintentional ASMR. 😌😴

59 and can't believe how fast it flew by. I appreciate your humility in expressing the emotional work and toil it takes to connect to your lyrics. I always had a dream to write and play and I'm trying to set out to finally make the time. Looking forward to seeing where it takes me. I appreciate you and your music. Lost my dad 7 years ago and when I heard your line: "...the only man who ever broke my heart.." I felt it. Thanks Travis.

Your a gifted songwriter, if there was music justice in the world those songs would be number one hits.. I too am a songwriter , and had my struggles.through life. Drugs and whiskey opens your soul up ,but it also tears your heart out if u let it..I don't pray much those days,but I send positive thoughts and Irish wishes your way... Don't ever stop believing in yourself.

This song is going to drag my aching, sore, tired, ass out of bed and on my way to work hopefully for the next 10 years. Thanks for Sharing Travis. My sister passed from cancer when i was a teenager now 35 years later and i am starting to let go of the sadness and anger of what happened. Im actually using my silly little You Tube channel to express myself as it has always been hard for my family to talk a out it. Both my parents cried when they watched my Memorial Day video i made about her. My singer song writer friend i met on You Tube let me use one of his songs in it so that was cool to. If u read this whole message thanks for listening and thanks for writing such great music!!!

While I don’t understand songwriting, my limited experience notes that the best songwriters are often tortured by the feelings that lyrics spark in them. Somewhere between psychoanalysis and healing, lyrics are scratched in and out until the soul quits stirring and a song is born. In the life’s lows and highs great songs are created, but it takes work, reflection and patience to get em on paper. And you my man, are damn good at that. God bless you.
@Travismeadowsmusic2 жыл бұрын
For not being a songwriter you described the war between a tortured soul and a blank piece of paper as good as any songwriter could. I’m impressed. I bet you stare at things to see what’s underneath. Thanks for chiming in. Insiteful-

I always come away from your videos with an immense sense of respect for the care and love that you have for the craft of songwriting. You choose your words carefully, you don’t waste any in the process. Even in your videos, you seem to choose your words with great care, but with such meaning. Your positivity is wonderful to see despite what you have been through in your life and truly is an inspiration to me and I imagine to anyone else that views your channel or listens to your music. That was a beautiful song. Thank you. 🙏

Hi Travis, love hearing your stories. It’s like the movie of my dad’s life put into songs. I miss him and after 7 years, it’s been long enough now that I am going to listen to his last voice message to me on Father’s Day. When to let go and when to hold on - what a wild ride it is. My son is moving out, empty-nesting, so I guess it’s letting time for me. I appreciate you sharing your whole heart 💛 have a Happy Fathers Day!

Coincidentally, I have a song with the phrase "let it go" and what you said about summing up all the words into one helped me realize what the "it" means in my own song. It's fear. I always felt the song was a bit enigmatic, especially that line, but it makes more sense now. I love listening to your show, man!

Travis, this video was fantastic! I enjoy hearing the inspiration for all songs and lyrics, as it really helps the listener understand the artist's message. This song is one of my favorites of yours, along with Sideways, Pontiac, Mississippi, What We Ain't Got, and the list goes on and on, brother. I'd hate to even say what your "best song" is, as they are all so inspiring and speak to that side of our humanity that we often don't want to look at, but really need to in order to be our best selves. Thank you for writing your music and please know how deeply it touches so many of us. Keep on going, getting older and writing until the Lord calls you home, brother; your gift touches and helps to heal so many.

Good morning, Travis! First things first. I’m filled with joy knowing that You and Buddy jumped at the chance to bond together in North Carolina recently. It appears that my prayers for you two were indeed answered. God DOES speak as long as we’re attentive enough to hear the words. For the longest time I ignorantly shut out God’s floor plans. Perhaps hearing your music and story about being a preacher turned recovering alcoholic has served as a guide on my journey. I credit your healing as a major turning point for me. As a thank you for who you are as a human, and songwriter that I admire greatly, I will be becoming a Patreon creator/ follower myself. I think we share a fair amount in common. Have a blessed day. Stephen

Thank you. That’s not offensive at all. All my meters on the board were as hot as I could get them. I’ll try to pay attention and make sure to be very close to the mic. I’m looking now and my mouth is 4 inches away. So there’s on fix. I can’t hear anyones youtube without earphones. I’d rather do the talks without them but I can’t hear. I’m curious now how it sounds with earbuds or earphones. Maybe I can run it all through a compressor as well that may need it up. Thanks for bringing it up. I can’t fix it if I don’t know what’s wrong. That helps. Be sure and let me know if the next one is better. You’re best- T
