This was the first, and so far only, tarot deck that has ever resonated with me. I love Emi's artwork and the guidebook is awesome. I was fortunate to find the first edition, after they'd pretty much sold out everywhere, at a small independent bookstore in NY just as the pandemic began.

The third edition of the Brady Tarot is on Kickstarter until Sun, December 15 2024 2:02 PM EST. -- the difference is a new Strength card and a slightly bigger guidebook. There's also new art on the box. There is a possibility of a traveler's deck too if there are enough backers.

All right mentor, compadre, woman of amazing knowledge and sense...you made me get the Brady back out and see if I can connect. I put it away almost immediately after receiving it because of the swords. Not for graphic nature really, but because they didn’t resonate with me. Let’s see what happens shall we? 🧐🙂

The guidebook definitely helps. I enjoy Thoth, and while I think this deck is founded in RWS, I think it also pulls from Thoth.

I saw this on kickstarter and was enthralled at the very beginning. I have the first edition and I adore it. However - I don't work with it. I take it out of the box, look at the amazing artwork, read the book, and then put it back. I am in awe of it, and I adore it, but I have never wanted to work with it. I absolutely love owning it though. It's so very special. xx

I have the second edition. The images are slightly bigger because the white borders (back and front) have been removed. I think the cardstock is the same. The gilding is the same.

I am so glad you’ve got a copy and you did a walk through - and I love the 10 of Swords - I’m pulling cards for it this month to support the challenge that Tom Benjamin has on his IG channel. This is my first deep dive into it - and Rachel’s work on the guidebook supporting Emi’s intention does as you say totally make this deck. Don’t tell anyone but I sort of prefer the 1st edition images - even though they are smaller - the white framing helps but I’m using the 2nd as my drawing deck. I hope you enjoy it.

I was originally turned off by the keywords, but paired with the book I'm not mad at them. Beautiful deck!

I'm so glad you like the deck, I thought you would appreciate it on many levels. The white borders was the only negative for me so I had to have second edition with black borders on both the fronts and the backs. The first edition came in an amazing wooden box but I think the black box of the second edition is excellent. The book is perfection!

I just bought this as a gift for my wife. If she ends up loving as much as I do, I suspect I'll be buying myself a copy as well. I find the key words pretty in-tune with what little knowledge I have, and the art is just absolutely fantastic.

I totally feel you on the keyword aversion. It’s one of the reasons I didn’t buy this deck for the longest time. But for whatever reason, I had to have it this summer, and did! And I love it. It’s blown me away, and I love the info the artist provides on the guidebook (my tarot takes tend to differ from Rachel Pollack’s - just how it is). I’m so happy that it sounds like you like this deck more than you thought you would! I have the second edition, and it’s just lovely. The art is so thoughtful and stunning. Though I do find the lack of white border to make so much of a difference. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this one! Happy readings with it!

Hi! The city near Athens on the Hierophant card is pronounced Elefsis, e+u in the greek alphabet produce the "ef" or "eph" like in elEPHant. Much love, I really love your decks walk through!

Creators have been making accommodations for different gender roles, different body types by adding extra cards. I can see them doing the same for readers who read more numerological in the near future. I ordered this deck & love how you see it. I agree the guidebook is fantastic. Than you for another great review.

I got Tom Benjamin's first edition, he just couldn't gel with the keywords...I love the new box! I wouldn't trim it, with the thick cardstock...it'd mess with the shuffle(imo). I love all the birds. Nature can be harsh...but then, so can life.

for some reason, i just can't get into animal decks. believe me, i've tried. i *love* animals. i also can't get into astrology decks or herbal decks or even mineral decks. argh! i also really can't use tarot decks which have keywords on them or oracle decks without good keywords on them (go figure). that being said, i really enjoy seeing these walk through videos. thank you!

That's very interesting. Because for me I can't get into a human deck. The only one I owned is the rws deck. I'm the opposite. Something about a human deck feels deceitful. I can't quite put it into words. An animal deck for me feels pure in terms of the energy.
