To be honest, Glenfiddich is very close to a top shelf bourbon. I tried a Glenfiddich once and my Scotch drinkers couldn't believe I liked it. It was smooth and refined and very similar to the bourbon I would usually drink.

I’m American and I was devoted to Irish and Scotch whiskey for years yet once I started branching out to try more bourbons, it quickly became my top choice and I see more and more people doing the same. However, not shocked to see that Lagavulin took the win on that match up because that is absolutely superb juice! I have always felt like JW Black Label is comparable to Dewars White Label, just a little sweeter. It has been said that the JW Black and the Green label should basically swap. The Green label is where you get the most smokiness, and the Black label is more fruity. But a good smooth Bourbon does probably have more of a sweeter flavor, whereas a good Scotch whisky has more character and is often more challenging.

Ok, soooo since bourbon (KY 😉) keeps kicking ass...could maybe once there's no more plague on, some Tryers make a liquor pilgrimage to our pokey little flyover state and tour the bourbon trail (yes, that's a real thing)?
