Raw cranberries grow on bushes, and have a little airspace inside them, so they float. At harvest, they flood the bogs, and have machines which shake the berries off the bushes, so they float on top of the water. Then a skimmer scoops up the cranberries.

cranberry is an agriculture crop. The process of harvest is to fill the area with water (called a BOG) and knock the fruit off the bush. The cranberries float to the top where they are collected. Bad fruit doesnt float. Then they are further sorted by size and by color. Less than perfect fruit get used for juice. They cant mention it on the label but cranberry has herbal remedy medicinal value for urinary tract issues. Trivia in America you cannot advertise herbs as remedies for medical treatments. Cranberry is raised in Wisconsin also. Local shops have cranberry mixed with other things IE cranberry / apple / jams / jellies /chutney / preserves. (all those products are essentially the same the only difference is the amount of solid fruit in the finished product) cranberry Salsa and a wide variety of others More Trivia
