I doubt you’ll ever see this comment since the video is 2 years old. I have to say your tutorials by far are the best I have seen. I have made 2 of your headbands and I’m now I’m on the hunt for a hat. I do I have question about the final measurement for the medium size. I have a VERY small (19 1/2 “)head so much so that as a kid I was picked on because of it. I started out making the small 38 rows. It way too small and I knew the medium would be small as well. I got to 42 rows and it still was small. Final crocheted 54 for rows and it finally fit. I used everything you recommended but my yarn was Lion Brand Heartland weight 4. Why do you think my measurements were different from yours. Could it have been the tension because I do tend to crochet very tight? Any I enjoyed making this headband and will be making it again and again. Thank you.

That was so cute and simple!!! I love the look of that alpine stitch but I made a huge blanket with that…took me a YEAR because I just got so bored! I do love the texture so making a headband would be awesome instead. At least it won’t take a year to see my finished product 😊

Beautiful!! Great tutorial as well. I find I kick out projects so easily because the stitching is so fast/easy (which is nice too). But the FPDC does slow me down a bit and I need that sometimes. The stitching is so beautiful and I’m looking forward to making more of these over the holidays. Thank you for the tutorial! So fun ❤

It might be cool to see this stitch used in a flat panel twist headband instead of a tube, so it could be done faster 🤔
@jeanettebrostigen46202 жыл бұрын
I wonder the same😊
@TheTurtleTrunk2 жыл бұрын
Hi! This specific stitch has to be worked in the round to get this look, if you did want to work a flat panel you would need to work the alpine stitch instead, which uses rows of single crochets in between which would probably take just as long to make. But you could definitely try it to make a thinner headband!
@jeanettebrostigen46202 жыл бұрын
@@TheTurtleTrunk Thank you for answer so quickly.🤩👍🏻I am using a thick yarn so the alpine stitch will work better I think.

💜 I just finished the adult small with weight 4 lion brand mandala and my height is at 3 inches 😞 how many stitches do you think I should add so it's at 4 inch?
@TheTurtleTrunk2 жыл бұрын
I believe Mandala yarn is a light (3) weight yarn? so it's a bit thinner. If I were you, I'd measure your stitches with a measuring tape or ruler, and see how many stitches are in 2", then add that many stitches. Hope that makes sense!

Would this stitch work if we just did a single layer instead of a tube?
@TheTurtleTrunk2 жыл бұрын
No, this needs to be worked in the round, or the else the stitches will look way different. If you want a similar look that's worked in rows, search for a headband that uses the alpine stitch. It creates a similar look but uses rows of single crochets so you're able to work in rows.

The pattern for adults says 26 stitches that doesn't seem to be enough to go round head am I missing something?
@TheTurtleTrunk2 жыл бұрын
Hi! The stitches around make up the height of the headband and the rows work up the circumference. It's worked as a long, narrow tube then the ends of the tube are sewn together to get the knotted front. Hope that makes sense!

Please I can't find yarn near me, can I use cotton?
@TheTurtleTrunk2 жыл бұрын
Hi! You can, but I wouldn't recommend it. The fit may not be the same. Cotton doesn't have the same stretch that an acrylic or wool would have.
