BUT I have found a PERFECT Ukulele Teacher and Uke Musician, The Ukulele Fool! Lisa, you are perfect!!! I love this tutorial! You personally care for each student and it shows as you teach!! GREAT tutorial!! No, you can never be a bad girl, YOU are too sweet!

Thanks! I'm working on Bb now, this was helpful. I think starting with an F to Bb and back is a good way to go. :)

I’m on the good side! No tall tales to tell, oh! Except for that speeding ticket coming out of my driveway! 😂 that’s a strange one. This Bb is surly a challenge, but I will get this! I love you support and enthusiasm!

Surly - that is such a great way to describe Bb.

Great video Lisa, thank you. You say you’re not a bad girl but then we glimpse that ink up your sleeve… 😜

Exactly! That ink allude to my criminal history as a passenger in a speeding car on campus with another professor - we got off with a warning. 😬

First time I have really tried this one, although I have gone through the tutorial before. But I think I gave up. Time to try again. I can get the fingering for the Bb (no muting of any of the strings). It is taking me quite a long time to get the fingers in the right place. So more practice there. I am also finding I need to have my thumb horizontal along the fretboard in order to get enough pressure. I also seem to have to have my index finger at an angle on the E & A strings to get both strings to ring cleanly. Other than that, it's perfect!!
@TheUkuleleFool2 жыл бұрын
To add to this, some find that shifting the thumb so it is almost parallel to the back of the neck helps, too.

I haven’t tried this one yet. I fear barred and semi barred cords. But I promise I will face this challenge! Soon!

Be patient with yourself. You will get there !!

I’m getting the D chord and E7 down with lots of practice! I never thought I would, but I am getting there with your encouragement!

I’m with you on the fearing bar chords.
@elainepalmer82682 жыл бұрын
I have found my fingers do not spread open enough or evenly for this chord. Keeping the claw shape is also difficult when I need to flatten the index on E and A string. But if I can master barred chords and Em and B7, there is hope for this one too. Just not sure how long it will take!
@TheUkuleleFool2 жыл бұрын
It takes patience, and repetition. Practice going back and forth between F and Bb - usually 2 down strums strums per chord. Do that for a minute a day and in 30 days, you will be amazed at how much better you will be.

Still not quite there with the Bb, in spite of much practice. If I get the E & A strings finger right, the G finger drops and mutes. If I keep the G finger right, it mutes on the A string! The muting sound does not actually sound so bad, but then neither does the lack of the A string in the chord! Not to my ears anyway. I have played it in my group without the A string and not had any complaints. But I would rather do it right. Once again I think it is the arching of the G string finger I need to work on.
@TheUkuleleFool2 жыл бұрын
Skipping the A string is a good cheat. Try bring your palm closer to your fretboard and angling your thumb so it is parallel to the neck of your uke, rather than being more perpendicular. Thanks for being a patron. If you can come to Saturday's jam with Q and A - I can show you what I mean.

@@TheUkuleleFool Excellent. I can be there. I have increased my tier to the fourth level now as I so want to move on. Practising playing songs you can play (even if they need working on) is fine, but I never feel as if I am learning anything more. So pleased to hear you’re not too unhappy about the A string cheat, but would still like to aim for perfection!
